MENDING NERFED & SHIELD UPDATED in 1.20.3 - Snapshot 23w40a - Minecraft Snapshot Overview

Mojang has released the 23w40a Snapshot of Minecraft which comes with New Shield Mechanics, a nerf to the Mending enchantment when repairing multiple pieces of Mending equipment, and a lot of bug fixes.

feels more like they're targetting the problem a little too directly, they gotta make stuff like repairing with anvils more viable first (especially because you are already using materials to repair stuff anyway)

@SnowyBoi64 Agreed. As a rule of thumb for game developers in general, you should never remove or nerf overall well-received things, but instead add things that are more difficult.
For example, a new enchantment like Soulbound (the item is kept in your inventory upon death) which is mutually exclusive with Mending, and maybe can only be found in the end.

Thanks for the input! I am investigating this at the moment.
This is a new issue though so it's possible it's a RUclips compression thing though in which case there's nothing I can do other than go to 1080p, which I don't think my internet can handle uploading

Thank you. After investigating I think I have fixed it. Somehow when I switched monitors my bitrate was set to 1/10 of the normal. It looks fine in the recording but we'll see if it looks fine once uploaded 😄 Thanks for understanding

Also it wasnt a mending nerf it was a bug thats been around for a while that was fixed. Wasnt properly explained here but thats what the mending "nerf" is. A bugfix.

Yeah it was a bug fix but it still was a nerf and it was harmless bug that they fixed which hurt no one, and the fact that there are much more severe bugs but they still focused their resources to nerfing Mending is frustrating to a lot of players. In some cases this is nearly a 50% nerf
