The observation I make about the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, to get the best possible results, you have to shoot during the day with the Leica Authentic mode, and at night with the Leica Vibrant mode.
Honour 6 look like a toy camera with extreme sharpening that hurting my eyes and 10x oversaturated. 9:05 , 11:10 Ultra looks more like a camera. They need to improve some overexposure problems and fine tune hdr just a bit stronger. That's its biggest problem. My guess it will be top 3 on dxomark. Comparing ultra vs vivo x100 pro would be interesting. I think you will have to rethink how to get more views but I don't know how.
Honor magic pictures produces just like a normal "phone quality" in short too much overprocessing. While the Xiaomi 14 ultra is really close to a "camera quality", that conveys an aesthetic, deep moody picture quality which some photographers prefers, but Xiaomi's software just need to tweak a little bit of its HDR capabilities.
I think Xiaomi 14 ultra isn't considered a "dummy" camera phone. In traditional SLR, photographers (like myself) will need to manually adjust the exposure by dialing in or out the aperture or shutter speed and the EV compensation (or sometimes the film ISO) to suit the image's overall brightness.
great review my friend .. but can you please explain the dxo rating for h6p ? The photos there are quite different and far much better ? I'm not saying you're biased or anything but just wondering.
Thank you. I seriously can't explain the difference, but I have seen also other people discussing this topic and coming to the conclusion, that at this stage it doesn't deserve to be called the best camera. It's really just too inconsistent.
The photos taken by Honor are oversaturated and I don't like it because it looks unnatural. There is a lot of change in colors when Honor switching lenses. Xiaomi is more successful in these matters. But I like Honor's night performance I don't understand how honor came first in Dxomark on zoom. It is obvious that Xiaomi has a more successful zoom. I would prefer xiaomi.
now listen ... Xiaomi 14 (30th Place in DXO) is much much better than Google Pixel 8 and iPhone 15 .. But its on 30th while iPhone 15 in 18th and Google in 13th .. I don't know about you but I've been moving on from DXO .. its unreliable and biased
You are right, it is too biased and unreliable. Magic 6 Pro's top score in zoom is proof of this. I think some brands pay for DXO. While my eyes tell me that Xiaomi 14 shoots better, DXO says that this is not the case and that Xiaomi 14 has a much weaker camera than them (15 and Pixel 8).@@kyosukeshidou1370
hi my friend thanks for your very nice videos, and thanks getting pictures in a "city" area with building, it is so much better, offering much more colors, sceneries and different type of things to just see how the phones behave (+ you still have some grass around) and thanks for having the auto low light mod then the separated night time mod for low light photos very very nice video as always, and it is just getting better and better, keep up the good work my friend my thoughts on cameras : videos day time -> honor magic 6 pro is ULTRA noisy when zooming digitally + losing all the details and refinement, very very bad... and color rendering is so different between lenses, the xiaomi just destroys the honor here, except for the ultra wide on which the honor is better than the xiaomi (which is noisy) daylight photos -> honor going further than 5x it is just getting bad, the shot at 8:29 from the honor is just complete crap lol xiaomi is really giving amazing photos... but I still like the style of honor, giving contrasty photos, with everything popping out, it is very pleasant to the eye, but it is practically unusable after 5x... at 9:37 i just think all samples up to 5x are way better looking from the honor, everything is contrasty and is popping out of the image, but overall true that xiaomi has more natural photos, and in some scenarios is better (like at 9:11 telephoto samples) overall I prefer honor for the output it delivers I think, but xiaomi is way more versatile with much much better zoom capabilities nighttime video -> both are giving awful results with jittering / juddering that is unnacceptable lol nighttime photos -> xiaomi is really doing an amazing job to be honest, at 16:51 2.5x and 5x particularly, i don't like how the honor is trying to get details in the dark area not illuminated, while the xiaomi keeps it natural, but overall the honor is doing a very good job night time too
I never understand the hype with 4k video recording. It's unnecessary. Most people never play the videos they record on their phones on 4k TVs or a 4k external device. There isn't even a 4k phone screen on any phone so the fact that it's in 4k is pointless because you'll watch it back on a screen that isn't 4k so it's automatically down scaled. Then you have the matter of the fact that most people post videos they take with their phones on social media or share it on WhatsApp. Doing this reduces the quality and size of the video dramatically once again making the fact it was taken in 4k irrelevant. A video at 1080p is more than sufficient since you won't see the difference on the phone screen or on social media. Lastly, 4k recording takes up more space on the phone, is worse in low light and has less stability. Even though my current phone can record 4k, I literally always move it down to 1080p. Even my friends with their iPhone 15 Pro maxes select 1080p instead.
@@levifury6179 Ofcourse I love watching stuff in 4k like movies and series. But next to no one watches the videos they record ON THEIR PHONES on a TV let alone a 4k one. I've never seen anyone, anywhere, actually watch a video recording which they took on their phone, on a TV. Don't confuse the 2. You don't do it either. Watching "content" on a 4k screen is miles different to watching videos you've recorded on your phone on a 4k screen.
I actually do. Not just for these camera comparisons, but when I was traveling I transfered my recordings to an USB and watched them on the big screen. Or with Air Play of the iPhone. I generally record in 4k all the time.
@@alischan I think you're the first person I've met that does this now. I guess I just don't understand why you'd watch video recordings from a phone on a TV. People use their phones to share videos via social media at most so I think you're in the minority on this one. But it's good nonetheless I guess. I just never have done that.
