- David Pawson looks at Joshua, the 6th book in the Old Testament which seems to follow directly on from Deuteronomy but for Jews there is a profound difference: No laws in the book of Joshua. The first five books are the basic Constitution of the people of Israel. The rest of the Old Testament is how it all works out. The next six books are what we call history, but the Jews call them prophecy. The first five books are the foundation of Judaism, and they call them The Torah which means instruction. The first five show God’s promises to them, the next six show the fulfillment of those promises, cause and effect. The book of Joshua covers his life, from the age of 80 to 120. It details how they took the land that God had promised them. After that, how they divided the land between the tribes. The book begins with Joshua’s commission by God and the people and ends with his final sermon, death and burial. God promised Joshua He would never leave him and that he would prosper and be successful in what he did for the Lord. Joshua’s courage and the people’s morale would be what won them the battle. Morale and morality are what God requires in a leader. God drying up the Jordan was a repetition of the parting of the Red Sea for a new generation to show them the God of their fathers was with them too. .

There was a survey taken once at a conference of Anglican Bishops asking if they believed in the resurrection. 70% said they didn't. Bishop Sandy Miller asked the bishop sitting next to him why he didn't believe in the resurrection. The Bishop said, 'Because its impossible!' Bishop Sandy Miller responded, 'Exactly, that's the point!'
70% is appalling

It is a History book -and specifically its a book concerning Who and Why
It is not a science book as it does not address the how and when
- if it was about how God did it - we woud not comprehend.
Who and why are the critical quesions to the future and our ultimate destiny
I love this man so much. Mr Pawson is a true brother in Christ.
The hexagram or the so called 'star of david' is a witchcraft symbol. It is not Biblical. It zero to do with actual Judaism.

The unbelieveable stories are truth.
Not to be critical but for our learning - Joshua was 110 years old when he died (Joshua 24:29) not 120 as stated in the video at around 23:50. Again as I said I am not being critical and just want to point this out. Every blessing in the Lord Jesus Christ.

On how the Bible was written...think about this...the Lords will at times is meant to confuse people it is written. I believe that it is as he wanted it. He is glorious. BTW I love watching David Pawson.

Joshua lived 110 years.
The book covered him from 80-120, just like Moses.
Since GOD him self can't be here..Because No one can see Him and Live......he gives us the bible to teach us moral's and to teach us how people in the world are and the way those people in the world treat other people and how some also Lie and pretend to try to be GOD....And try to trick us and will try to get us to follow other so called "gods"....REMEMBER GOD IS LOVE AND YOUR STRENGTH AND OUR SAVIOR...Isaiah 12:2
I do enjoy your talks. Only one thing though, you said that God stopped the world rotating in order for Joshua to carry on the battle , the bible says that the earth is fixed " "He has fixed the earth firm, immovable." For many years I was told the world rotated etc and I went with the flow you might say now however I don`t . I was believing what men said and not what God had written. Having said that I have learned a lot from listening to your lectures :-) David.
Yes, the Bible says that the earth is fixed and cannot be moved. It really means REmoved - it just means the earth isn't going to be destroyed. It's not going anywhere. We'll always have it. God has provided a stable place for us to live that will never disappear or perish. The earth is fixed in its orbit around the Sun and will always support life. We don't have to worry about meteors, black holes, or anything destroying the earth. It will always be HERE and won't go anywhere.
As for ideas that the earth doesn't orbit the sun, or ideas about the earth being flat. Those ideas are patently untrue and can be disproved with the simplest of science. If you look carefully, you will see that the "Christians" who promote such theories are - on the whole - extremely carnal. They are interested in conspiracy theories and scandals. They are the kind of people who like arguments. They don't have the holy spirit.
These "flat earth" believers are unpleasant men who have sin upon their lips, always ready to attack people. I know from personal experience. I have met them and found them to be a pack of wolves, attacking and slandering the Lord's sheep.
Jesus said to examine the fruit of a prophet! (Matthew 7:15) Look at a man's character before believing what he teaches about the Bible!
I hope that people will look at my fruit and see that I am of God. I am a teacher and I invite Christians to subscribe to my channel, where I will be uploading some important videos in the near future.

No Jesus's parables are all related to another passage in the bible. He just hasn't taught you where it is. You are blind until you humble yourself and ask for eyes to see and a heart of understanding

The sun and moon could stop for a day on a flat earth if they are actually what God said they are and not what science claims.
Please don't be taken in by the flat earth theory. It is wildly irrational and unscientific, and gives Christians a bad name. @@jamesmilam3567 Modern-day evolutionary "science" is just Pagan religion dressed up as science. However, there is nothing wrong with true science - most of the world's most influential scientists have been Bible believers. Indeed, people have ALWAYS believed the earth was a sphere. Flat-earth theory is a modern theory which rejects all rationality. The earth is quite clearly a sphere, I can see that with my own eyes. I trust my eyes.
I know I’m 4 years late on this train. I’d just like to say, maybe the earth is round and they did actually stop for a day and no one got flung around because god stopped everyone from getting flung around. If we have the capacity to accept one miracle I don’t see why we don’t have the capacity to accept another.
9:06 sad. the whole bible stories are myths not historical. how could they then explain genealogies, including that of our savior whose genealogy was prophesied? how can it be explained that jesus himself regarded all these "myths" as factual: adam and eve, noah, jonah, etc?

@@DavidPawsonMinistryhow does Mr Pawsom say Joshua was not a lawgiver? I just finished the book and not only did he rewrite the laws of Moses (word for word) but he in ch24:25 “reaffirmed for them the decrees and law”
Plus the covenant renewed prior in Joshua8:30-35
So twice in the book of Joshua the covenant is renewed/reaffirmed ???

- I believe the answer is in your comment - Joshua rewrote the laws (“of Moses” ) word for word and reaffirmed a They were not Joshua’s Laws but the Laws God gave to Moses hence David’s comments that Joshua is not a law giver …..just a refirmer …
All these laws are referred to as the Laws of Moses - not the Laws of Joshua Trust this clarifies
