    The best reaction was the guy who blurted out “holy shit” as Erik was taking his headphones off. I’d have to agree. I don’t think any final puzzle was solved that fast, ever.

    Came here because I was wondering why my daily USA Today puzzles are almost always more difficult when Agard is the editor. Now I know and I’m cool with that.

    To me this is like a golfer putting, they need QUIET to concentrate...with these idiots commenting, it makes me wonder how the solvers tuned them out! This is a VERY big flaw in the competition and I'm sure that I'm not the first to observe this.

      The finalists wear headphones playing white noise (crowd noise recorded at the United Nations), so they don't hear the commentary.
