Now since I have completed med school, I am gonna say one thing. Only one thing. Become a Doctor only if you want to, from all your heart. Since, I didn't want to, I really, REALLY suffered, mentally, and still do. But what is done is done, and I think that I woukd retire one day, when the time is right, in front of my grandma, who forced me to be a Doctor, when I wanted to be a musician instead. That would really piss her off indeed.
Yes but in the us you need to do 4 years of college (undergrad) before joining medical school (which is 4 years), therefore 8 years in total, contrary to 6 years total in most European countries because there is no such as college in Europe as there is in America, most careers are done in one full degree. Ofc after in both cases you have residency/specialisation which are normally very similar amount of years maybe one year differences. This is similar to lawyers where in the us you have 4 years of college and then 4 years of law school where in Europe is it normally between 5 and 6 years
idk what it is. but ever since Amy Wang blew up with her holistic productivity mindsets, all the other productivity content creators have been following in her footsteps. even Matty mentions the important mindset shift later in the video. loving the impact she's having on other content creators. the whole productivity cult of the past few years, I feel, is slowly turning into an actually healthy and beneficial community. we are all growing together, guys 💪🏻
7:10 I understand your point completely, but my issue is just that your grades will decide if you graduate or not. You can say grades don't matter that much, but if my grades are low than I fail and I just get stressed of this when I try to say to myself that grades don't matter that much
So at my medical school in the Caribbean (MUA), we had lecture 8 hours a day. Really about 12 if you factor in the time for free transit. I thought I was incompetent, but hearing you found lecture for 4 hours, half of mine, a waste of time, I now know I'm not crazy... definitely transferring and sticking with it because I had dropped out
I love your last point on mindset. I have been scared into thinking that all I'll do in my medical program is brute studying and stressing over exams. And although I enjoy studying my degree and it is true that exams will be stressful, I NEED to have a life out of school. I've seen peers focus on school 24/7 but they are definitely not top of their class. In fact, they look miserable. I appreciate you pointing this out. If I have to confirm with a "lower grade" because I need to tend to my family, friends or hobbies, I'll take it! Because my happiness and sanity are worth it- that's the end goal 🙌
Lucky people who can decide whether they WANT to attend lectures or not…in some universities attendance is mandatory even for the most useless sht, such a waste of time 🥲
How do you not go to class dude? What the heck ? Here in Pakistan You have to maintain at least 80% attendance to be able to sit in the final exams every year lol How the heck am I supposed to Not go to lectures if they are not wven being posted anywhere lol lack of technology
Make some videos for all the other STEM subjects. Not everyone can study with a coloured drawing of an organ and flashcards. We need to learn actual math in the proper way
There is one God, who created Heaven and Earth. He made us in His image and likeness. He made us to worship and we chose to rebel against God. As a result we are seperated from God but God didn’t leave us. Instead God sent His one and only Son, His Son is Jesus. He was born of a virgin and lived a life without sin, though He was tempted in every way as we are. He went on the cross and He willingly took our sins past, present and future. Jesus died in my place for my sins, paying my debt to God and purchasing my salvation. Jesus died but He rose on the third day victory over satan, sin, demons and hell. Jesus tells us to share this story of the Good News and there’s a God that lovingly pursues us. Jesus is coming to judge the living and the dead and those who trust in God will forever be with Him in His Kingdom and those who do not will suffer forever in hell.
As an aspiring doctor, this video is an amazing roadmap to having a successful medical career… and an amazing exciting one at that💪💪

I can’t believe that in Portugal instead of having 4 years of med school we have 6 YEARS..
In India, we have 5 years.
Do ya'll have residency/specialties afterwards?

@@nico0826 Yep. Also, can't be board certified if you don't go into residency (average 4 years) so 12 years for doctor! 😭
*5.5 years@@DivyakantShukla-nr8lt

That`s a great video I want to watch over and over
study less? but i’m not studying at all!
Thank you. This definitely helped a lot. I'm in vet school and we have a block system so it is a bit different but similar in many ways as well.
You should start a podcast
This video is very exciting
Nice haircut, Matty!
The doctor that just removed that guy’s liver instead of his spleen sure should have studied more.

Put that in your butt!
But still Books are the best ❤ I can't study well on my laptop and tab
And some textbooks are irreplaceable!
This guy gives some good advice but he needs to word himself better and stop with the ‘nevers’ and ‘always’
@LiamRayJames yes, he needs to work on that. And is it only me or other ppl olso feel sleepy in front of a screen but not w/ books (most of the time)

Bro I was thinking the same. Plus we have viva exam on the topic we studied every now and then. Attendance is also very important .
if your school requires mandatory attendance, then that tip doesn't apply to you.
I’m the first one here
Summary??? 😂
Make some videos for all the other STEM subjects. Not everyone can study with a coloured drawing of an organ and flashcards. We need to learn actual math in the proper way
