It's poetic how the reboot with The Lizard, the villain Sony wanted, flopped hard, yet the reboot with The Vulture, the villain the actual director with artistic vision wanted, is widely successful.
So you're saying that if Sony just butted out of Raimi's business and allowed him to make his version of Spider-man 3, we would have gotten one of the best trilogies of all time? *sigh*...
Actually it was Sony’s idea to have Felicia Hardy be the Vultress as they thought black cat was too much like Catwoman. But Rami debunked this rumor as he said that she would have been black cat If Spiderman 4 was made.
So it was Sony’s idea to have Felicia Hardy be the Vultress not sam raimi's i would say that is a dumb idea. I will say this for 3; Thomas Haden Church was FANTASTIC as the Sandman. I see a lot of hate thrown his way, but honestly a lot of it comes across as him just getting caught in the crossfire of the backlash directed at all the actual bad things about the movie. Sort of like how Kevin Smith's Jersey Girl is actually a fine movie. It just had the bad luck to come out the same calendar year as that other movie with both Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez. That one that actually sucked. :/

Really I think they should have just let Rami do his thing because then they could possibly have had a five movie franchise. Spider-man 3 would have been better if they had just cut out Venom and the New Goblin and focused on Spider-man struggle with symbiot, which would have been supplemented very well with the Sandman subplot. Then for Spider-man 4 they could have focused on the battle between Spider-man and Venom, with Eddie Brock constantly showing up in Peter's life to let him know that he knows who Spider-man is and where to hurt him, all building to that epic battle we wanted to see in Spider-man 3. Then for Spider-man 5, they could have had Spider-man and Venom team up to fight Carnage. That would have been rad. Instead we got an okay reboot, a poor sequel and now a very week entry in the MCU.....yeah I didn't really care for Homecoming.
Jaeger Newman if u think about it if spiderman 3 was good then spiderman 4 would of made them over 1 billion dollars...good job Sony you fucking idiots...
Until Sony yanks the rights back. Sony's making a Venom movie with Carnage as the villain...with no Spider-Man. They aren't done with Spider-Man until someone claws it out of them.
I garrante that movie wont be made 90% of fans are boycotting it and theres no why they are unaware thats why they tried to lie and say its part of the mcu when it wasnt and kevin feige confirmd that you can tell they was bullshiting to trick as much fans to see it but they didnt count on the fans being smart enough to see thru her bullshit not only that but they have no idea what they are doing one minute they say its rated r to cash in on the success of deadpool and logan, then they said it was a horror movie and now they say its a comedy to cash in on spiderman homecoming to cash in on that even though venoms a tradic character and not comedic the production sounds like such a mess that they havnt even started writing a scipt because there picking ideas out a hat they are not close to shooting and it comes out next year i garrante this is a power play to try and see if marvel will budge and give them more control or negotiate for more money but marvel arnt budgeing and if they go though with it its almost garrante to fail i have not seen anyone from casual to big fans say this is a good idea because nobody cares about venom with out spidey i feel so sorry for this character constantly being gang raped and past around like a cheap whore he deserves better
Jesus its more of a mess than I even thought. I had thought it was already in pre-production, no idea they said now they want to make it a comedy. *rolls eyes* If they stuck to their guns with the horror aspect I could at least respect that their trying something different. No they are just desperate. I hope it doesn't get made. It'll suck, bad, but it'll still make money especially in foreign markets. Then Sony will just double down on it and Marvel wont get them for another decade at least.
Sounds like a bunch of spider-man 4 ideas was used for homecoming cause Peter does take the vulture's daughter on a date to the school dance and they turned the multiple villains into multiple heroes but watered it down cause the mcu is meant to be kid friendly cause of being owned by Disney
If Spider-Man 4 came out, there is a 50/50 chance it would be a success in which the Amazing Spiderman movie series would either never happen or would be delayed. If those movies didn't happen earlier enough, we wouldn't see him in Civil War and probably won't see Spiderman in the MCU. So in a way, I like what Spiderman 3 did😂. Never thought I'd say that.
If Spiderman 4 ever gets made, heres an idea Keep the montage opening, ending with mysterio's arrest, play it very easy going, like Peter has been having no problem taking down these villains over the past almost 20 years. Then cut to modern day, Peter stops at an apartment to pick up his 10 year old daughter Annie May Parker, so he can walk her to school. Turns out Peter and MJ are separated and later it's revealed why, that conflict with Mysterio was a year ago. Just like the Goblin, Octopus and Venom he discovered Peter's identity and while those 3 had previously gone after MJ (which she was willing to live with.), Mysterio went after Annie May. They are trying to work thing out, but whats getting in the way is Spiderman. Peter having trouble balancing his responsibilities as a hero and as a father. maybe at the start he doesn't even make it all the way to the school before something comes up. Also maybe Peter is applying for a job at Adian Toones company. Maybe MJ is offered a chance at a hollywood career and is considering leaving New York, both for the opportunity and Annie's safety. Maybe Annie May doesn't know Peter is Spiderman and starts developing spider powers. Maybe finds Peter's old human spider wrestling outfit and uses it while testing out her powers. As for villains, make it a battle of families. stick with Vulture, but instead of Black Cat, go with Silver Sable as the daughter, maybe incorproate aspects of silvermaine into Vulture. Obviously at the end Peter and MJ get back together.
Here's an idea, why not animate Spider Man 4. I don't think the animated Miles Morales Spider Man film is set in the MCU. So I don't think it would be a problem to make it but just make it an animated direct to DVD film.
63%=torn to shreds Anyway, I can think of a few things that went unmade, though nowhere near as well known as the stuff you usually cover. There was going to be a Disney animated series based on Kingdom Hearts. Storyboards were uploaded to Deviantart and rumor has it a tape of the story reel for the pilot still exists in the Disney Archives.
Freakin' Sony. Broke my heart. Homecoming's helped to heal the wound, but it hurt for years having Raimi's original epic cut short. On an unrelated note, I loved Kingsley's Mandarin. It was a brilliant performance, I say!

How I would fix Spider Man 3, and I know my idea will be the same as some other ppl: I would keep Harry , but I would have him inherit Norman’s GREEN GOBLIN suit, weapons, and gadgets instead of looking like a futuristic ninja on a surfboard. I would also keep the symbiote suit but remove Sandman and Venom The single main villain should be Harry since the first two films have been building up to Harry’s conflict with Peter anyways. Okay everyone call me crazy, I want all of you to call me the most craziest guy in the world but I FUCKING Loved Spider-Man 3, I do i just loved but not as much as Spider-Man 2.
8:42 From what I heard this led to Peter and MJ getting divorced in the story, and that plot point was revived in Into The Spider-Verse, though I can't confirm it because I heard it was true but I don't know for a fact if it's true. 6:45 The Prowler is especially Z-list if we're talking Hobie Brown (the original Prowler) because Spider-Verse is what made the Aaron Davis version of the character well-known, meanwhile the only version of the Prowler who was in a mainstream, well-received Spider-Man adaptation, where he is the Prowler (Spectacular Spider-Man doesn't count because he was never the Prowler in that), is Spider-Man the Animated series where he appears in a whopping total of one episode. Speaking of Spider-Verse because of Spider-Punk, it made a version of Hobie Brown that isn't the Prowler more mainstream than the version that is the Prowler.
I really like these videos about projects that never came to fruition. When you get the chance, I suggest doing one on two attempts that were done to bring Jurassic Park to animation.
issac flores i know but i hate that idea not the scarecrow one you know the Harley Quinn been the daughther of the joker not his girlfriend me? i keep her as his girlfriend.
honestly, i'm glad that spider-man 4 did not happen. for the sake that none of what we have now would have had happened unless spider-man 4 never happened and the amazing spider-man films bombed. in another dimension, spider-man 4 probably exists and spider-man never gets to be with the other heroes
Originally Spider-Man 2 was not just going to have Doc Ock, Harry Osborn and J. Jonah Jameson as the villains it was also going to have The Lizard as Villain 2 and Black Cat as villain 3 but The Lizard and Black Cat were scrapped
I had heard that back in the mid 2000's a director (I forgot who. I read this back when I was in high school.) was trying to pitch a Metroid movie and the director was contacted by Paris Hilton who was interested in playing Samus Aran. And around the same time I had also heard over the radio that they were planning an american made live action Cowboy Bebop movie with Keanu Reeves set to play Spike Spiegel. But plans for both movies fell through.
I really think that there was more to tell in the Sam Ramni movies. They should have just moved Venom to the next movie and kept the villain of the third to Harry Osburn, a little to Sandman. But since we got a reboot instead, it didn't feel the same movies to me.
Man I wish this movie was made but I would of preferred if Lizard was the Final Villein instead of Vulture because it would of been more tragic for Peter to lose another friend. Also I love the Idea for the opening and I think the 4th movie would end with Peter and Mary Jane finally getting married and it would be implied that Peter would continue being Spider-Man no matter what :)
63% fresh on RT is far from being “torn to shreds”,(TASM 2 has 52%) 2nd, a quality and success of a film is not defined by a two silly scenes. There was a lot that worked in Spider-Man 3, and its success came from two previous excellent films, and the fact it featured a conclusion to it with one of the most identified villains. Most importantly, the film managed to entertain which is more than I could say about the reboots.
Great work!, I recommend you do the Unmade Batman vs Superman from the late 90's/early 2000's or as a challenge, do Batman: triumphant/Unchained, the fourth Schumacher film
Nope SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING came close but didn't surpass the box office gross of SPIDER-MAN 3 worldwide. As of March 6th, 2019 SPIDER-MAN 3 is still the highest grossing Spider-Man film worldwide.
3:30 he's the reason we never found out what happened to Mary Jane in spiderman the animated series because of disagreements between him and network head Margaret loesch the show was cancelled so the show was supposed to get a 6th season
I have heard that, not only did they want Lizard, but a Lizard to become infected by a piece of the Venom Symbiote product, Symbiote Lizard. That I think would have been very cool.
I think if they kept it to one villain at a time, Spider-Man 3 could’ve been a success. The movie ended with Harry becoming the second goblin, therefore he should’ve been the main villain. I appreciated what they did with changing him to a good guy at the end which was a good idea, but why was the sandman in the movie? The movie would’ve only worked with Harry and one of the other two villains.
*sigh*...
I think Harry not becoming a Goblin, especially after the end of 2, would have probably been underwhelming.
We still did get the best trilogy of all time
@@suarezguy If he was going to be a Goblin, why not go with making Harry the *HobGoblin??*

Church was possibly the best part of that movie.
Brian Webber The movie should have just focused on him as the villain. Sandman's creation in the movie was stunning!
No the movie should've focused on Harry as the villain.
Spider-man 4 would've been great but I'm extremely happy spidey finally has an amazing movie again in 13 years and he's in a better place in the MCU.

Marko Šeparović Mlađi which is good.
I honestly think that it’s a good movie but the dancing part was terrible
Man of Steel was way better!

Speaking of Spider-Verse because of Spider-Punk, it made a version of Hobie Brown that isn't the Prowler more mainstream than the version that is the Prowler.
haha, i love the use of the classic Spiderman theme at the end. just as great as S-M:HC using it at the beginning.
I really like these videos about projects that never came to fruition. When you get the chance, I suggest doing one on two attempts that were done to bring Jurassic Park to animation.
Please do an episode on Batman Triumphant
grkpektis you know I heard that Scarecrow was gonna be in that movie, and that he was gonna be played by Howard Stern. Now that would've been awesome.
issac flores you what else man they want to change Harley Quinn from been the joker's girlfriend to his daughter.
jason Grady PHStiger'61 ew, but that's just a minor problem because you know scarecrow.
issac flores i know but i hate that idea not the scarecrow one you know the Harley Quinn been the daughther of the joker not his girlfriend me? i keep her as his girlfriend.
jason Grady PHStiger'61 I wouldn't call her Joker's girlfriend. I mean he does abuse her. I just call her Joker's groupie, or henchwoman.
rami is the king of spidey movies
honestly, i'm glad that spider-man 4 did not happen. for the sake that none of what we have now would have had happened unless spider-man 4 never happened and the amazing spider-man films bombed. in another dimension, spider-man 4 probably exists and spider-man never gets to be with the other heroes
"Venom is just an angry monster"
Venom in most of his comics: is a f*cking goofball
I really think that there was more to tell in the Sam Ramni movies. They should have just moved Venom to the next movie and kept the villain of the third to Harry Osburn, a little to Sandman. But since we got a reboot instead, it didn't feel the same movies to me.
And now Sony stormed out of negotiations with Disney and is hoarding him to themselves. Man I am feeling like we're going to be seeing deja vu.
Would love to see you tackle either Batman Triumphant, Superman Lives, Stan Winston's Godzilla, or the two Universal Kong remakes of 1975 and 1996.
oh hi Jack buchhaun
Man I wish this movie was made but I would of preferred if Lizard was the Final Villein instead of Vulture because it would of been more tragic for Peter to lose another friend. Also I love the Idea for the opening and I think the 4th movie would end with Peter and Mary Jane finally getting married and it would be implied that Peter would continue being Spider-Man no matter what :)
"Torn to shreds by the critics" as he shows a screenshot of a 60% fresh rating lmao
I really like this new Legends of the fandom, I hope you keep making it.
This is a great series ERod
Great work!, I recommend you do the Unmade Batman vs Superman from the late 90's/early 2000's or as a challenge, do Batman: triumphant/Unchained, the fourth Schumacher film
Wow, I just realized we saw spiderman 4. I'm happy now
Your research is SPOT ON Erod!
7:14 - 7:33 Omg, that would've been such a great casting choice!!
wow, I never thought of Bruce Campbell as Mysterio. I love the idea😄
Nope SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING came close but didn't surpass the box office gross of SPIDER-MAN 3 worldwide. As of March 6th, 2019 SPIDER-MAN 3 is still the highest grossing Spider-Man film worldwide.
"D List villains that never would have been used as the main antagonist in a Spider-Man movie, such as Mysterio"
Yeeeaaahh. About that...
I also heard that Michael Jackson was intending to buy Spider-Man licence from Marvel, but it never happened.
3:30 he's the reason we never found out what happened to Mary Jane in spiderman the animated series because of disagreements between him and network head Margaret loesch the show was cancelled so the show was supposed to get a 6th season
7:13 Quentin Beck: Anyway, before I was so rudely interrupted, at that time, I was a ring announcer...
Awesome! You put the 'Spider-Man: Homecoming' theme by Michael Giacchino over the credits!
Vulturess... SHAME ON YOU! *whack*
hey erod do one with when James Cameron the man who made avatar aliens terminator 1 and 2 and true lies was going to do a spider man movie?
Jack Rose Presents Modern Classics Entertainment yeah man that will be awesome.
Heaving multiple villains in a movie isn't inherently bad... It all just depends on proper balance and direction.
1:50 Nope. Spider-Man 3's still number one, though Homecoming is a close second.
Thank you E-Rod, really enjoyed this! Really interesting.
Do one for amazing spider man 3
If they had done Spider-Man 4, would've been interesting if they carried on with Sandman's story, and maybe introduced Carnage as a villain.
I like to hear an episode about the unmade 1992 Godzilla vs the griffin that Tri-Star was planning to make before the Roland Emmerich one.
I have heard that, not only did they want Lizard, but a Lizard to become infected by a piece of the Venom Symbiote product, Symbiote Lizard. That I think would have been very cool.
I wonder what Sam Raimi thinks on Spider-Man: Homecoming.
Mystery would actually make a good primary antagonist.
Anne Hathaway using her blonde hair for Felicia Hardy in Spider-Man 4.
The Fifth Batman movie - Batman Triumphat.
That seems to be an interesting story.
Excellent story ERod!
Do Batman Triumphant. That would be cool.
I'm sure that at some point Avi Arad would have tried to force Carnage in there since he's obsessed with the Symbiotes cause they sell the most toys.
Legends of Fandom Ideas:
1. Batman Triumphant
2. Batman: Darknight
3. Superboy Season 5
4. Power Rangers Hexagon
Awesome video Erod!
Cannot wait for the Honest Review of Spectacular Spider-Man!
Batman Unchained: the third Joel Schumacher Batman film.
Spider-man 3 is my favourite movie
Now we need sandman and hydroman to be the main villain in a Spiderman movie
2:03 5 years later it would be replaced by a NEW Spider-Man 3
Batman Triumphant NEXT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Honestly Spider-Man 3 biggest bads are green goblin , doc oct , and venom which is kinda funny considering that how the movie went
Can you do a Legends of Fandom of that Godzilla film that was originally going to come out in 1994, but instead, we got the 1998 Godzilla movie?
So much quality for a small channel you need more subs
I’ve heard the comment about Sam not liking Venom was incorrect. He liked the character but didn’t want him in the movie.
