I really liked this side quest because it links back to Tifa’s past and is the basis for Tifa’s original opinion on Cloud when she first meets him again in Remake.
It was quite interesting because Tifa thought Cloud didn’t like her anymore by the time she got the cat but, as he mentions in this quest, he actually used to go and find Fluffy for Tifa whenever she’d go missing (Tifa never asked Cloud to do it he was just being nice) and she realised that he wasn’t indifferent but actually nice.
It was because of this cat catching that she started to suspect that what the other 3 boys had told her about Cloud when they went up Mt Nibel was a lie, though she could not confirm that until a couple days before this.
One of my favourite interactions between the two was Tifa searching for Fluffy and as she went onto the mountain, Cloud was coming down and told her where Fluffy was.
“Saw Fluffy,” he said brusquely. “Right after the first bend.” “Thank you.” Cloud didn’t stop or accept her thanks. He continued straight on to the village. But just before he was out of earshot, he turned and shouted, “Hey! You forgetting to feed it or something? It was munching on a dead bird!” “Of course I’m feeding her!” Tifa stormed up the trail. Not a minute up the mountain, she found Fluffy, tail held triumphantly high, mouth and whiskers caked with blood.
On a separate note,
What’s also quite cool about the novel is that it inadvertently shows just how important the promise is to Cloud to protect her. It’s never stated explicitly but Cloud acts like he is annoyed of her presence on the outside (although he was actually trying to be nice on the inside) and stayed like that until the night at the water tower. It was after this point that Cloud became extra protective over her.
Also fun fact, the exercise group you can join in with in Nibelheim in Chapter 1 and 11 was actually started by Tifa

So the two side escort missions in Rebirth are about wholesome doggos and cattos. It's a very cute way to make a drab objective fun.
A girl and her cat is the same dynamics as a man and his dog.

The head chef… that’s Amy’s VA!! That’s sick!
So that's Sonic as an item clerk, Tails as an NPC in Sector 7, Knuckles as Dyne and Amy as the head chef😂
I have to admit, the choice of battle music during this side quest fits it perfectly. The train graveyard battle theme is a fantastic song.

This side quest is my favorite of the game. It’s one of those moments to enjoy before the storm that would change their lives forever.

Some side quests are chain locked before they appear, dont think this one was one of em.
I belive this became active after Vincent.
I did everything before the no point of return / chapter select.

Yeah, chapter 11 after nibelheim is already close to end game.
everything gets unlocked in chapter 13, and you dont need to select a certain chapter to do quests.
@@BuffMaister okay I have a question so rn I’m on chapter 9 & it’s so annoying that I can’t fast travel to different regions to do side quests. Is there at some point after in the game where your able to? Rn I’m in gongaga region and I’d like to go back to grasslands
Point of no return will be told and thats only in chapter 13.
Since your still in gongaga, you have to go back to cosa del sol (fast travel should work?) and speak to the npc where the boat is that brought you from Juno to Costa, that should let you change regions for now.
In chapter 13 you get tye freedom to fast travel anywhere, for now your locked into that npc travel.
No one in the comments has an issue w/ the fact that you have to go slower than molasses all the way back to the village to ensure Fluffy doesn't get too far from you and forces you to backtrack?
