Hey roundtable I have a question for your two next videos are you going to talk about new gravity falls characters if gravity falls does return and new Steven universe villains both human and gem if they ever make another Steven universe show with more seasons and maybe some of the humans might use some gem technology for weaponry or an accident evolving gem technology might give them gem-based abilities and maybe some of them might be using them for a crimes or some of them might use their abilities to get back at someone and maybe some of them might have a vendetta against Steven and the gems Like here's one of the villains This guy's name is John Jones He is a spoiled kid who always gets what he wants And he used to live in beach city but moved away but then when he came back he saw all of what has changed and saw Steven and ask him what happened and Steven explained what happened and John is not huge fan of everything He's not a huge fan of all the gems around and he's not a fan of all the attention that Steven is getting then when there was a competition going on on live TV so he entered and so did Steven and then in the final round Steven ended up winning which caused John to have a huge rage and told Steven that it's unfair that He gets to be the hero and that he has been constantly annoyed that everyone pays attention to something else and not him and that he deserves everything then Steven told them that he can't just get everything he wanted and this kind of ticked off John who try to get revenge on Steven for humiliating him on live TV first he destroys Steven's car then vandalizes some of the houses in little homeschool And wrote papers all over town Calling Steven names And Steven just knew that John was behind this and when they finally found him he trying to improve the amusement park but it all goes wrong and he blamed Steven for this because if it wasn't for him this would have happened but Steven told me it's not his fault and our rage he stormed off swearing to Steven that he will get revenge And when he walked around he picked up a strange stick that conduct electricity and then when went to pick it up someone behind him Shot a strange beam at him and it caused him to fall and He got zapped by it and when he woke up he discovered that he had strange electrical powers like electric flight electric expulsion electric absorption and force field generation And when he turned around the face that person they were already gone just a letter that said use your powers to get revenge and after reading this and with these powers he calls himself electric knight and he decided to use his abilities to get revenge on Steven and the gems because of the gem technology First he used his electricity to bring all of the games to life and turn them into robotic minions and He came down and met Steven and introduced his new name and told Steven he would finally get revenge on him after a fight Steven is able to defeat him and electric knight is arrested by the police and He swore to get payback on Steven when he got out prison after the police left peridot said that she had a feeling that this won't be the last supervillain themed enemy that her Steven and the others will have to take on And in a strained spaceship a mysterious figure that gave John his powers explains to their commander and after hearing what peridot said they decide to give Steven in the gems a new challenge to face So what do you think of these ideas and the idea for a villain.
Jesus the second Justin Roiland was taken out of his own show AND the new Voice actors for Rick and Morty (in spite of doing a GREAT job) the R&M Fanbase Turned on the Series HARD!! Edit: along with the new “female writers” toxic fans keep blaming on.
Ill say this. I dont know if he was a creep. But it weird how after high on life came out was a hit then someone comes out and said Justin was a pdf. Like it just weird is all im saying. He making it big off rick and morty and his own game studio. Im just saying he could be one but it just weird you know.
As a rule of thumb, any show that meets its ten years threshold should just end right then and there, I think what has happened in seven seasons could’ve been done in just three or four anyways.
I think the series Edgy, cynical humor and overall hatred for other genres while it's characters brag about being smarter than other fictional characters and even it's own audience, is what killed off the popularity this series had. It took fandom by storm and everyone was referencing it to the point it became obnoxious when people starting to legit think you needed a high IQ to truly understand it..... then we had multiple jokes about incest. In the meantime, we have gotten more proper critique of Superheroes with Invincible, exploration of the Multiverse with the Spider-Verse films, and exploration of characters with deep flaws and issues with Arcane. Rick and Morty's last big eventful media moment was in Death Battle were Rick got his comeuppance with Doctor Who who easily sum up his whole character with a single sentence.
@@viennasavage9110 Things can be a canon element, or a canon event... and that doesn't continue to make it ~good~, plot-circles (something I started using as a term due to the Walking Dead) are very annoying if the show is trying to show growth in the characters... It becomes deeply annoying as they just ditch all the growth and they start over, the character-circle. c.c
@@zephodb Theyre not starting over, they're showing how people fall back into bad habits. It doesn't take just 1 talk for people to completely turn around family generational trauma. You can see that Rick tries to be nicer over the series, and you can see that the nihilism he brought to the family bites him and makes him regress. That's not repetitivity, that's conflict.
@@viennasavage9110 One can have conflict, and while it may be realistic per-se by your argument... It still makes a ~bad story~, plot-circles are bad narrative... and that's my point. There are static arcs, and that works fine... but don't tease change when there is none. This is more a critique of The Walking Dead which I gave up on, only watched it as long as another friend was pressing for it.
Evil Morty was about Nihilism going too far, to make him some aspirational antihero is morally wrong, socially irresponsible, and betrays the heart of the original show. And the idea that any version of Morty would be happy in some luxury bubble on his own, when he is suppose to be the heart of the show and honestly the family, is a misunderstanding of the character
Completely wasting the potential of Evil Morty and Rick Prime, in the same episode at that, was one of the great sins of Season 7. I am astonished people liked that episode. Rick Prime should have been saved for being Final Boss like two seasons down the line. Evil Morty should have been allowed to retain his mystery
I blame the new writers ruining the show. In the first few seasons the pop culture was subtle. Later seasons the pop culture is blatant. Like for the example the die hard episode. It's just half the episode saying die hard while parodying die hard
Rick n' Morty never struck me as a sitcom that would last as long as others like Family Guy or The Simpsons. The problem is the show seems to have already explored pretty much everything we wanted it to. I don't really see it go any further than it already has.
Steve Levy confirmed he has no plans on doing so because it's their biggest money maker. It's popular among fans and critics so it makes sense to keep renewing. Plus unlike other shows, there's endless possibilities like the multiverse and various planets.
@arinhossain2100 my problem is when ever they do finally make a episode to follow up a really big story ark that we have been waiting for an follow up for years they quickly rush through the entire ark so they can quickly return to the status quo which annoys me. Like thr rick prime for example. That seemed like they was setting up somthing way bigger just for him to get killed off in a single episode 2 seasons later
I’m still curious , they said the point of the season wasn’t defeating evil Rick , it was about Szechuan sauce , so I’m quite curious what they mean by this
Good thing Rick and Morty continues to get renewed. They will keep making em doing this till their 90. Justin Roiland got his well-deserved punishment by being kicked out of Rick and Morty because of his inappropriate actions and the evidence that came to light. The accusations and screenshots showing him sending disturbing messages to younger fans revealed behavior that made him unfit to continue working on the show. It wasn’t just about legal charges; it’s about the harm caused and the discomfort of his co-workers. Being removed from Rick and Morty was the right decision to protect the integrity of the show and the people involved. Roiland’s actions had consequences, and it’s important to hold him accountable.
Lmfao whatever you say Mr. Moralist. Too bad he was proven innocent. And you know how easy it is to fake screenshots and texts, right? Go preach your cancel BS somewhere else.

"...we just got another [adult swim] anime." OUCH! "[adult swim] already made a pretty good Rock and Morty anime 10 years ago. It was just called Space Dandy!" Okay you softened the blow and healed it with that one.
To be fair about the Bird Daughter events happening in the parmesian dimension Bird Person's reality was already completely separate from any of the ones Rick inhabits. We've seen countless Ricks, but its always been the same Bird Person.
Glad someone remembers Space Dandy. I loved that anime while it was airing and I totally see it was essentially a proper Rick and Morty anime before Rick and Morty.
Justin Rolland’s voice acting and improvising some of his lines was the show’s charm and it was hilarious. With him gone, the new voice actors just don’t give the show the same charm.

@@goatskin4487 it's not just Justin's show it's Dan's too. And yes it matters. Keeping Justin Roiland on Rick and Morty is detrimental to the show for a few key reasons. First, it ties the show to his problematic behavior, which could push away fans and create an unhealthy work environment. Second, his actions distract from the real strengths of the show, which come from the creative team, including the writers, animators, and other voice actors. I dipped after the VA changes. Just didn’t feel the same to me. Still can enjoy earlier seasons. Happy Dan got his easy money making, low effort show he was striving for.
@@noneed4me2n7 Anyone hating on the new voices in Rick and Morty is just acting like a Roiland fanboy. The show has always been about the writing and creativity, not just the voices. The new voice actors have barely made any noticeable difference, and the show is still as strong as ever. If you're only focused on the voices and not the quality of the stories, you're missing what really makes Rick and Morty great. Holding onto Roiland's voice just for the sake of it doesn’t make sense when the show has already proven it can thrive without him
I'll say something possibly unpopular.. the show hasn't been itself since season 2. They started, in season 3, doing a lot of "tell don't show" thing and hiring a ton of new writers who seemed to ape it's style but.. the soul was just gone. When I found out later that Roiland basically checked out of the creative process after season 2, it suddenly made a ton of sense. Also I'm still kind of annoyed that he basically got thrown out of the show based on some accusations and faked text messages. A true tragedy.
No it didn't. Justin Roiland deserved to be removed from Rick and Morty due to his inappropriate actions and the evidence that came out. The accusations, along with screenshots of disturbing messages to younger fans, showed behavior that made him unfit to keep working on the show. It wasn’t just about legal charges; it was about the harm he caused and how uncomfortable it made those around him. Removing him was the right move to protect the integrity of the show and the people involved. Roiland’s actions had consequences, and accountability matters. Defending Roiland despite all this is just fanboy behavior. It ignores the bigger picture of what really happened and the impact of his actions on others. It’s not about being a fan of his work but about recognizing that unacceptable behavior shouldn’t be overlooked just because someone is famous.
@ didn’t say he was a saint. Just saying once he left it was lame. If he was on Demon time or not, doesn’t matter the show is bland af now and you can’t justify why it isn’t especially when there is over 20 writers on the show 🤷♂️
@@Fredneyburhood You act like as if Rick and Morty is praised for it's voices which it isn't. It's prasied for it's writing not mindless humor and voices. There are countless times where certain episodes are bad because of the writing that even Roiland can't save it. Like Rickpendence Spray was so bad that even Roiland can't save it. Even if Roiland wasn't fired for season 7, it would still be the same where episodes like Rise of the Numericons would be so bad that even Roiland can't save it. That proves that vooces mean nothing. Rick and Morty can be voiced by anyone as long as the writing is great. The new voices are hardly any different. If there is someone else who would voice it would be Yuri Lowenthal as Rick and Tara Strong as Morty.
@ bruh…why you mad? I’m only speaking on facts not. Feelings. The consumer knows the difference between cola and Pepsi. Even if it looks identical. This is the same understanding.
18:06 is it just me or is it that Rick sounds like Morty in this scene? I know they shared the same voice actor at the time this episode aired, but I don't know how his voice actor managed to fuck up this badly. He had the opportunity to retake that line in audition when he was voicing his lines for Rick in that episode just to make it sound like him instead of Morty, but he said fuck it. Talk about laziness. And ironically enough, this 'laziness' thing applies to the show itself.
Honestly, I'd gladly take another Aqua Teen revival over Rick and Morty getting milked to oblivion. Twelve seasons, two movies, a RUclips miniseries, and yet there still isn't enough of those New Jersey food monsters.
my take is that Rick and Morty is constantly overusing the "well that just happened" trope, but they don't really care about using it well, and it just comes off as nobody taking anything seriously and the plot constantly tripping over itself and slowly fading into the background. It almost feels like tom and jerry, but it's rick and rick-who-killed-his-wife doing wacky sci-fi concepts that they constantly call unoriginal and dumb because they're so smart etc etc. also, hot take: I decided to watch Rick and Morty: The Anime before any reviews on it, and I loved it. It's great as a standalone anime.
Sincerely, I hear your points of critique, but the overarching bit with Rick and Morty fans is the building of expectations that makes fans want to drive the narrative of the show to fit their expectations. This ruins shows! The question around consumption is should we be passive observers or chip in to create what we wanna see? as a person who has watched the show since conception and would not consider myself a critic I believe there is no clear cut win for the elements of the show.. They have written themselves into a ditch because in both facets of Rick and Morty they cannot lean in on bits because they feel like filler and the serialization has been almost fully explained. Like Rick the question remains what happens from here.
I wasn't a mark for the show but when the sauce came out I wanted to get it and I foolishly got one because I was curious on what it takes like and thought it tasted awful and was like why people wanted it? Then to find out there were idiots making a scene because they wanted the sauce that badly I felt so glad I wasn't that into the show Lol I like the series but dam lol. Only thing I regret when it came to the sauce was I shouldn't had tasted it or asked for a few and seal it away and waited to make alot of money from a fool bored and rich enough to buy it 😂
Rick and Morty is WAY better than it was. The first two seasons were great. They set up some awesome things. The new seasons are way better. Only the cringe people seem to have left.
Kinda of depends. I say the first season seasons was more consistent with near every episode really good but the best episodes in the new seasons outclassed anything to come out of the first 2 seasons but you have to get throught some of the worst the show has to offer to get to them
@@Dr.Mlieko weird because only conservatives stopped watching it. Almost like you all just wanted poop jokes and are upset that changes happens and an evolution of the show has made it far more relevant and WAY more funny instead of just slapstick 'leh random'
I dont understand these people saying rick and morty has a downfall. I watched rick and morty series more than 30× times cause often i fall asleep with it. And of cause i like some episodes from the first 3 seasons. But everything is better in the beginning, its sweet like childhood memories. Sometimes people sound so hatefull. I find it similar to spongebob. I still like to watch spongebob season 4,5 or 6 lol But tbh i still find it interesting that they still have ideas. Men wish i could work there to put all my ideas in.
NOPE. These fans really be acting extra with their expectations and comparisons smh but don’t acknowledge the beginning seasons they’re praising also featured a very predatory worker involved with their creation, there’s at least some solace that recent seasons are much better for the shows PR and the reputation of the workers involved with them the staff is dealing with.
I agree with some of your assessments (although I think Season 3 was great), however the show is about Cosmic Nihilism. Part of the reason why storylines seemed unfinished is part of Rick and Morty's overarching theme- cosmic nihilism; i.e. - nothing in the universe matters. That's even somewhat of the arc of Evil Morty - the guy literally wants to be left alone, and nothing matters to him. The writers are adding dribs and drabs of meaning for the viewers to cling on to, but at the end of the day, we can predict that the series finale of Rick and Morty will be an absurd ending reiterating how nothing matters in the cosmic universe (side note, I totally read that in Dr. Wong's voice, but I digress). I feel like what is happening with Beth is intentional too. She's a mirror of Rick (I even think the blue streak in Space Beth's hair is to visually communicate how she is the Rickest Beth), but also symbolically his foil to an extent; she shows what Rick would be if he were a female/family man; Space Beth kind of also symbolizes what Rick Prime would be like if he were nihilistic, but more mentally healthy. TLDR - the writers aren't taking the easy way out; it's a subtle 4th wall break about cosmic nihilism - because that's how reality/the cosmic universe works - it's random and it doesn't make sense most of the time.
I have a different interpretation. Sure, the nihilism was the start and it really never went out but isn't the series giving a point of how nihilism is wrong? The first season established Rick as invencible and the embodiment of nihilism at the same time, associating both things (if you accept nihilism you are the smartest and more powerful!) But when the series continues we see Rick way more pathetic and miserable than any other character while still being the representation of nihilism. In his talk with Dr. Wong she beat him at his own game, another lose for nihilism. And we see Rick being less nihilistic while the series progress. Still a bad person but going to therapy, passing time with his family, giving compliments to Summer and Beth without second intentions, and letting go away the power to control fate with the fortune cookies monster by saving Jerry. But what I think about the best examples are two: -Rick Prime: The most nihilistic person in the series, even more than Rick, being hated by our Rick since even he can't stand a nihilism so big that destroy his family just because he can and just because he didn't care about the lives of others. And Rick Prime, the new representation of nihilism dies alone with no one caring. -And the end of season seven when Rick could have just jump in the hole to see Diane back but decides to instead put a photo of Morty in the wall of winners. Prefering his present over the past and nihilism because he actually cares for his family. The characters that sides with nihilism are always presented as miserable and the one who are great are not the dumb ones or ignorants but the ones who want to change for the better.
i genuinely will never understand anyone that doesn't think season 3 was the best season when it came out. i obviously liked season 1 and 2. but season 3 is the only reason i started watching this show religiously. season 3 is one of the best seasons of any single series ive ever witnessed. i honestly feel a little offended that people thinks its bad...how? it brought so much meaning to the characters. i cant comprehend. someone explain how in any possible way seasons 1 or 2 are close to as entertaining as 3. idk how im the only one that likes 99% of the things that have happened in this show... am i the only one that just loves this show so much that i like everything theyve done? it cant just be me? right?
I am DONE with animation cuz So much of the “themes” preach “this isn’t bad” or “x can be used for good” but fans “beyond you control or force” are another lesson to kids. Bros just post South Park CP with Google Safe Search blurring some websites pics on noode kid characters. 🤢
I really don't understand the widespread opinion that season 3 is "objectively" worse than the first 2. obviously the first 2 are great but season 3 took characters and concepts even further like with toxic rick and Morty as well as the citadel episode. That as well as the season 3 intro are the two best episodes in the show; so epic as well as funny. As an aside, the episode with al the flashbacks and different characters/brain parasites is often cited with those other two as one of the very best, whereas I feel it's just another pretty good episode; almost filler. Season 3 is incredible; season 4 is clearly where it fell off. I can't even remember a single episode from season 4.
Season 3 I agree is the best season in my opinion but season 4 is good too. Rick and Morty never declined in quality. Season 4 is great, not perfect. Not all seasons has to be perfect
@@arinhossain2100 honestly you're right, IMO season 4 couldn't compare with 3 but it was still great. I just checked the episode list and there are a solid handful of modern classics. People love to complain about Rick and Morty. The writing is still consistent for the most part. I don't mind rick's sarcasm and detachment from the canon. It kinda works for me
It’s honestly tragic how much this show fell off. I wish the co creators could’ve just continued giving a shit about it and not caused so much drama, maybe then the original writers wouldn’t have left and gotten replaced by network tv writers who stripped the show of any originality it once had
I’ve noticed this since season 3 especially; the show in a sense started to believe it’s own hype. Rick was always cynical, but now he’s cynical to a point of irritancy, as are most other characters. So many god complex “jokes” now that tell rather than show. It’s like the characters and writers seriously think they’re hot shit, and can get away with anything they put out.
Rick and morty use to be that shit, now no one cares. Its unfortunate i stopped watching around idk season 5 ish and i dont have a desire to ever catch up
Rick and Morty is still awesome. All seasons are great. Not all seasons has to be perfect. We still get great episodes. You may want to catch up for the story stuff like Evil Morty plotline
something that rick and morty has been fighting with since the beginning is that the show clearly states that it wants to do silly, not explained, not connected adventures, that each episode would be taken as autoconclusive and not connecting to anything at all, like family guy or the simpsons. but the fans have clearly stated over and over that they want the opposite, the want a story, they want lore, they want a connected multiverse, they want a backstory explaining the origins of every character and they want to see all of those arcs' conclusions. and i think every inconsistency in the writing is a product of that, you see it clearly in any lore heavy episode where they are constantly making fun of the fact that they are expanding the lore
its like comparing gravity falls with the simpsons, sure the simpons is a popular show and whatnot but it doesnt have a story, it has plot points it has reveals it has whatever the hell but its episodic for the purpose of being a show, theres no over arching story line, theres no ambition where homer wants to eventually be the ceo or get a promotion, they try with lisa and collage or whatever only to make the reveal she isnt going anywhere because they need their cast, bart and his obbessive murder will just keep coming back to try and fail killing himand yada yada. The simpsons is a not linear not really a story type story for episodes, Gravity falls however does have a plot, it has abmitions, characters grow, characters change, evolve and reveal and eventually it does end, there is a mystery along its episodes and it does get solved. to explain the point better i got dragged by my sister into trying to watch family guy and its the exact same thing, theres no plotline and the wheelchair guy really hammers the point, his goal is get working legs and in many many episodes he gets new legs only for some event take place and its back to the wheelchair, thats what a show being storyless and episodic is, things happening but never changing. This is the real problem Rick and morty has, its trying to balance both of these concepts and it is a new take on episodic media, thats why it got such a fanbase but the problem is nothing changes at the same time that somethings do happen and change, and its only been focusing on actual develoupment recently, im predicting they went full in for a story when they introduced the therapist because that actually harbored real change in the main character/s. There are countless examples of episodes that actually force characters to change and grow only to kill them and reveal the same punchline "ha ha this isnt the real rick and morty we are actually following" but its still trying to have a main story that needs to be fulfilled of finding Rick Prime which just happened in a random episode in season 7, there was hardly any build up it basically jumpscared me when everything fell into itself and suddenly rick prime is dead and the main story was essentially over in a heartbeat. unlike weirdmaggendon there isnt a season of build up about Bill cipher breaking into reality, there isnt just a slow shift into rick making real progress, we are just suddenly shown rick finding more clones, before one happens to be rick prime where blah blah blah rick prime is dead, theres no build up, theres almost no stakes, he didnt full escape rick when he found him and died the same episode There isnt any wasted potensial it did try its gimmick and it worked really well until both audiences of story media and episodic never changing media both realised that this show has the aspect of media they dont really like and both stopped watching it. the wasted potensial is that it still didnt make up its mind in the end, the very next episode its essentially back to rick as we know him. it cant sustain trying for both of this story techniques and thats pretty tragic
When the show began, it was obviously self aware and at first it worked but as the seasons go by the self awareness went from funny to cringe. Simply put i think the show just got old and justins exit didnt do the show any favors.
I for One still Do LOVE Rick and Morty and the new voice actors for BOTH (Rick and Morty and they do sound Great) and the new writers are making the show better it's just with the fandom getting incredibly toxic to the Whole Justin Roiland sinerreo But I'm still one of those few Rick and Morty fans that is still sticking around and still hanging onto some hope that the new Season will still be Great again
I don't really like bringing up other shows like MLP:FiM and South Park. But I have to admit one thing: people grow old and some of us grow out of cruel jokes abd comedy over time. I genuinely love how everyone in the Smith family gets their own character growth, solve issues and maybe admit a thing or two. It's hard to convey but the writers always succeed in hitting with truths like "you act like a prey but you are the predator", "scared of happiness because it always comes to an end", "and you are scared of losing both". Even the Bruce Chutback episode hit me soooo hard after my idk how many times of watching. The writers have put their commentary here and there for us to figure it out. Those traces of thoughts helped me through a lot being a young adult diagnosed with multiple mental disabilities. I love how the writers explore the dynamics between Beth and Jerry and maybe the whole family. It's all those subtle critique and immersive thought that taught me a LOT when I needed them the most. Now being older I still wish the best for everyone in the cast and the Smith family. I mean seeing the family grow together brings me tears and absolutely healed me
2 new seasons...ok bet last season flew by tii quick Edit: after hereing that they goona change story telling...can't wait to see how they destroy and genderafy a woke rick and morty If it aint broke don't fiddle wit it whats so fucking hard to get
I haven't gotten around to watching the anime. I don't have much interest in it. Heard one issue about it not airing episodes in chronical order. I myself feel that the few anime that do that are the most memorable in my mind.
looking at this anime looks bad and i do love some anime's also but main series is much more appealing as this anime looks cheapy & tacky and thats saying lot from me as i like most 80's/90's animation which is better then anime ricky and morty.
I agree that it feels like there’s no point getting invested in any of the show’s plotlines they set up if they’re always going to either ignore them or just anticlimactically resolve them. If they actually put effort into their story arcs, it would definitely help maintain fans’ attention. At this point, they just shouldn’t bother.
The show is still good. But as a Fan I'm kind of hiding it because the fandom has become so toxic and cringe that I dont wanna be associated with it, i dont really mind the "Lore" aspect of the show because they're still pretty creative with a lot of things
So has Rick and Morty become the SpongeBob of Adult Swim now? It’s a never ending episodic adventures because it draws too much attention with a now well established fanbase? … I think I answered my own question.
It's so sad we can't respect people's work without making videos or comments I'm pretty sure all this isn't good intentions but if people like me who's never really seen the show and now I have to go in with some type of discomfort because of videos like this
I actually prefer Rick prime getting killed off to establish evil morty as an equal to Rick. The whole Rick prime thing was shoe horned in there anyway
It was manageable until they fired the main VA for both of the main characters and hired people that sound like cheap knock offs. Kills the vibe of the show
You're acting like Rick and Morty gets its praise because of the voices, but that's not true. It's the writing that people appreciate, not just the humor or the voices. There are several episodes where even Roiland's voice acting couldn’t fix the bad writing, like in Rickpendence Spray, which was poorly received. If Roiland hadn't been fired before season 7, the result would still be the same for episodes with weak scripts, like Rise of the Numericons. The voices aren't the key to the show's success-it’s the strong writing that really matters. The new voice actors aren’t that different from the originals, and the show can thrive with other talent, like Yuri Lowenthal as Rick and Tara Strong as Morty. Third, retaining him could send the wrong message, implying that toxic behavior is acceptable if the person is talented or famous. Finally, Rick and Morty has proven that it can succeed without him, and continuing his involvement could hinder the show's growth and morale within the team.
The moment Roiland was out, I was out. I don’t wanna defend the accusations against Roiland, it was just like with Two and a half Men and Charlie Sheen.
No you have to stay. Justin Roiland's removal from Rick and Morty was a necessary consequence of his inappropriate behavior. Evidence, such as screenshots of disturbing messages allegedly sent to younger fans, made it clear that he was no longer fit to be part of the show. This wasn’t just about avoiding legal trouble-it was about addressing the harm his actions caused, both to his colleagues and the show's overall environment. Removing him was essential to maintaining the integrity of the series and ensuring a safe workspace. Roiland’s actions warranted accountability, and this decision reflects that. Keeping him on the show would have been damaging for several reasons. It would associate Rick and Morty with Roiland’s misconduct, potentially alienating fans and disrupting the work environment. His presence could distract from the show's true strengths-its writing, animation, and the contributions of the rest of the creative team. Additionally, retaining him could send the wrong message that unacceptable behavior is excusable for talented or famous individuals. The show has proven it can thrive without Roiland, and his continued involvement would only hinder the team’s morale and growth.
I guess it started when they decided to launch each season per year after 4th one and most people's excitement died. I literally watched last 3 seasons recently 😅
I still cant believe people find the first season better than the recent ones. Animation wise its no contest, the recent seasons capture a much more fluid look and its stylistic in a way thats much more appealing to the eye, whereas season 1 still had people having pupils that looked like stains. Writing wise its also amazing, as it actually has continuity now and running plot threads about trauma and cynicism and how destructive and infectious it can be. But people prefer season 1??? The part of the show who dedicated an episode to a little boy having to stuff an old man's seeds up his butt???? I just don't get it. This reminds me of the creative differences that killed final space. The show upgraded in animation and plot threads, but they almost got shut down up until what saved them was a comedy episode about urine. We complain so much about how these shows have such low brow slap stick humor with no substance, but it feels like when it comes to Rick and Morty, thats when fans feels like its at its best despite how hard it tries to be more than that.
@@arinhossain2100 Nope, it is the reverse Also, it is not that the new seasons are not perfect, they are just straight-up bad The anime gives us something the main show has utterly failed to do - give us an actual complete story arc
I think the show is fine. It needs to commit to its premise though: Rick and Morty. I also feel like the show doesn't do as much melding between sci fi/fantasy and the mundane, when it really should. That's where it's at its best.
@ yeah I agree with that list tbh season 4 and 5 we’re really disappointing. I liked the most recent season but getting used to the new voices is still weird for me. I hope the next season will be good
You're acting like Rick and Morty gets its praise because of the voices, but that's not true.
I have to question the take that the show really wants an overarching plot because like. Does it though? I haven't watched the show in a long time, so maybe some things have changed, but even back when I watched back around like, season 4 or so, I always got the feeling that Rick and Morty wanted to be an episodic show but because fans liked some bits of a story they made, they added more lore more out of a sense of obligation than anything. And the more attention they gave it, the more they hated doing it and the fans for asking for it. It was a big reason I stopped watching.
I have the same feeling. Everytime they create a new ark they don't continue it for like 2 seasons and when they finally do cover it they make a single episode ending that entire ark
Personally the issues started b4 the Roiland controversy. For me the vibes changed around season 4. Harmon has had always issues finishing shows see Community. But the audience has changed over the decade it has been released, like any other animated series look at Family Guy and The Simpsons. I still enjoy it at times but its much less fulfilling to watch cuz of how cringy it can be.
i really liked this video, the videos you/yall have been making have felt content farm-ish and gonna be honest makes me avoid yalls content even before i know what the video is about just take this tip even though im not even 1% of your viewbase. make these videos feel useful to watch and entertaining to watch and not like "well whats the cartoon news today"
The comics actually had some good plot points, like with "Doofus" Jerry as the villain. Which is suppose to be doofus rick's jerry. But the problem is the show writers hate villain arcs, they hate the audience they just hate everything. If they aren't invested in their own show, why should i be. The whole hating the fans has been played out and im out. And I use to obsess about minor details for clues in the first few seasons. Till it became clear the show hated its own success for some unknown reason. Like super duper sorry writers that the show is successful and paying you a living wage. Mistake is totally on the fans, super sorry for that one. I will make sure that will never happen again

You guys watch Dandadadandadadan?
Hey roundtable I have a question for your two next videos are you going to talk about new gravity falls characters if gravity falls does return and new Steven universe villains both human and gem if they ever make another Steven universe show with more seasons and maybe some of the humans might use some gem technology for weaponry or an accident evolving gem technology might give them gem-based abilities and maybe some of them might be using them for a crimes or some of them might use their abilities to get back at someone and maybe some of them might have a vendetta against Steven and the gems
Like here's one of the villains
This guy's name is John Jones He is a spoiled kid who always gets what he wants
And he used to live in beach city but moved away but then when he came back he saw all of what has changed and saw Steven and ask him what happened and Steven explained what happened and John is not huge fan of everything He's not a huge fan of all the gems around and he's not a fan of all the attention that Steven is getting then when there was a competition going on on live TV so he entered and so did Steven and then in the final round Steven ended up winning which caused John to have a huge rage and told Steven that it's unfair that He gets to be the hero and that he has been constantly annoyed that everyone pays attention to something else and not him and that he deserves everything then Steven told them that he can't just get everything he wanted and this kind of ticked off John who try to get revenge on Steven for humiliating him on live TV first he destroys Steven's car then vandalizes some of the houses in little homeschool
And wrote papers all over town
Calling Steven names
And Steven just knew that John was behind this and when they finally found him he trying to improve the amusement park but it all goes wrong and he blamed Steven for this because if it wasn't for him this would have happened but Steven told me it's not his fault and our rage he stormed off swearing to Steven that he will get revenge
And when he walked around he picked up a strange stick that conduct electricity and then when went to pick it up someone behind him Shot a strange beam at him and it caused him to fall and He got zapped by it and when he woke up he discovered that he had strange electrical powers like electric flight electric expulsion electric absorption and force field generation
And when he turned around the face that person they were already gone just a letter that said use your powers to get revenge and after reading this and with these powers he calls himself electric knight and he decided to use his abilities to get revenge on Steven and the gems because of the gem technology
First he used his electricity to bring all of the games to life and turn them into robotic minions and He came down and met Steven and introduced his new name and told Steven he would finally get revenge on him after a fight Steven is able to defeat him and electric knight is arrested by the police and He swore to get payback on Steven when he got out prison after the police left peridot said that she had a feeling that this won't be the last supervillain themed enemy that her Steven and the others will have to take on
And in a strained spaceship a mysterious figure that gave John his powers explains to their commander and after hearing what peridot said they decide to give Steven in the gems a new challenge to face
So what do you think of these ideas and the idea for a villain.
Jesus the second Justin Roiland was taken out of his own show AND the new Voice actors for Rick and Morty (in spite of doing a GREAT job) the R&M Fanbase Turned on the Series HARD!!
Edit: along with the new “female writers” toxic fans keep blaming on.

I found season 7 to be awesome.

I think what has happened in seven seasons could’ve been done in just three or four anyways.
But thats literally a canon element. Rick *is* a cynical nihilist. Beth is too because she shares his blood. That *is* Rick and Morty
@@viennasavage9110 Things can be a canon element, or a canon event... and that doesn't continue to make it ~good~, plot-circles (something I started using as a term due to the Walking Dead) are very annoying if the show is trying to show growth in the characters... It becomes deeply annoying as they just ditch all the growth and they start over, the character-circle. c.c
"... you needed a high IQ to truly understand it," yet they had trouble following the anime because it was nonlinear.😆

Third, retaining him could send the wrong message, implying that toxic behavior is acceptable if the person is talented or famous. Finally, Rick and Morty has proven that it can succeed without him, and continuing his involvement could hinder the show's growth and morale within the team.

I'll say something possibly unpopular.. the show hasn't been itself since season 2. Also I'm still kind of annoyed that he basically got thrown out of the show based on some accusations and faked text messages. A true tragedy.

“Why the fuck would you show me something if I couldn’t have it” is my entire experience with watching Rick and Morty.
my take is that Rick and Morty is constantly overusing the "well that just happened" trope, but they don't really care about using it well, and it just comes off as nobody taking anything seriously and the plot constantly tripping over itself and slowly fading into the background. It almost feels like tom and jerry, but it's rick and rick-who-killed-his-wife doing wacky sci-fi concepts that they constantly call unoriginal and dumb because they're so smart etc etc.

This ruins shows! The question around consumption is should we be passive observers or chip in to create what we wanna see? as a person who has watched the show since conception and would not consider myself a critic I believe there is no clear cut win for the elements of the show.. Yes
I did
No there's more than one small brain than u
But what I think about the best examples are two:
-Rick Prime: The most nihilistic person in the series, even more than Rick, being hated by our Rick since even he can't stand a nihilism so big that destroy his family just because he can and just because he didn't care about the lives of others.
@joseleonardofarfanperez2838 THIS.
i genuinely will never understand anyone that doesn't think season 3 was the best season when it came out. i obviously liked season 1 and 2. but season 3 is the only reason i started watching this show religiously. season 3 is one of the best seasons of any single series ive ever witnessed. i honestly feel a little offended that people thinks its bad...how? it brought so much meaning to the characters. i cant comprehend. someone explain how in any possible way seasons 1 or 2 are close to as entertaining as 3. idk how im the only one that likes 99% of the things that have happened in this show... am i the only one that just loves this show so much that i like everything theyve done? it cant just be me?

Rick was always cynical, but now he’s cynical to a point of irritancy, as are most other characters.

something that rick and morty has been fighting with since the beginning is that the show clearly states that it wants to do silly, not explained, not connected adventures, that each episode would be taken as autoconclusive and not connecting to anything at all, like family guy or the simpsons.
but the fans have clearly stated over and over that they want the opposite, the want a story, they want lore, they want a connected multiverse, they want a backstory explaining the origins of every character and they want to see all of those arcs' conclusions.
and i think every inconsistency in the writing is a product of that, you see it clearly in any lore heavy episode where they are constantly making fun of the fact that they are expanding the lore
its like comparing gravity falls with the simpsons, sure the simpons is a popular show and whatnot but it doesnt have a story, it has plot points it has reveals it has whatever the hell but its episodic for the purpose of being a show, theres no over arching story line, theres no ambition where homer wants to eventually be the ceo or get a promotion, they try with lisa and collage or whatever only to make the reveal she isnt going anywhere because they need their cast, bart and his obbessive murder will just keep coming back to try and fail killing himand yada yada.
There are countless examples of episodes that actually force characters to change and grow only to kill them and reveal the same punchline "ha ha this isnt the real rick and morty we are actually following" but its still trying to have a main story that needs to be fulfilled of finding Rick Prime which just happened in a random episode in season 7, there was hardly any build up it basically jumpscared me when everything fell into itself and suddenly rick prime is dead and the main story was essentially over in a heartbeat. unlike weirdmaggendon there isnt a season of build up about Bill cipher breaking into reality, there isnt just a slow shift into rick making real progress, we are just suddenly shown rick finding more clones, before one happens to be rick prime where blah blah blah rick prime is dead, theres no build up, theres almost no stakes, he didnt full escape rick when he found him and died the same episode
There isnt any wasted potensial it did try its gimmick and it worked really well until both audiences of story media and episodic never changing media both realised that this show has the aspect of media they dont really like and both stopped watching it. the wasted potensial is that it still didnt make up its mind in the end, the very next episode its essentially back to rick as we know him. it cant sustain trying for both of this story techniques and thats pretty tragic
The real issue is they ran out of Star Trek Next Gen episodes to ripoff :)
Space dandy being a decade ago HURTS 😂
Yeah Roiland cultists are the worst
I mean seeing the family grow together brings me tears and absolutely healed me
Can't wait to see your boxing match with Dan Harmon when they drop next season's 4th-wall-breaker episode!
2 new seasons...ok bet last season flew by tii quick
Edit: after hereing that they goona change story telling...can't wait to see how they destroy and genderafy a woke rick and morty
If it aint broke don't fiddle wit it whats so fucking hard to get
I haven't gotten around to watching the anime.
Honestly im so invested in Rick's slow character development I'll never give the show up.
The show will last as long as smoke shops sell bongs with Rick on them, I fear
Season 6 and 7 were really good
So has Rick and Morty become the SpongeBob of Adult Swim now? It’s a never ending episodic adventures because it draws too much attention with a now well established fanbase?
… I think I answered my own question.
It's so sad we can't respect people's work without making videos or comments I'm pretty sure all this isn't good intentions but if people like me who's never really seen the show and now I have to go in with some type of discomfort because of videos like this
I'm still mourning the loss of Tigtone. At least it went out a hero and not a shell of itself.
Third, retaining him could send the wrong message, implying that toxic behavior is acceptable if the person is talented or famous. Finally, Rick and Morty has proven that it can succeed without him, and continuing his involvement could hinder the show's growth and morale within the team.
This video is awesome! Just like you!
I think it lost attention because of how long it took for a new season to come out and people moved on to different stuff
Still pissed that degenerate slop like this can slide by, but shows like the owl house can get canceled for being too gay
U goofy
20:03 Well I'm an Anime Nerd and I Love Rick and Morty
I’m still a fan that can’t wait til they return, every time💯
I still like the train episode
I was literally just thinking about this yesterday and now your video has manifested
Y’all be crying 😂😂
I fear the same thing would happen to Smiling Friends, because more people are flocking to that.
Only rick and morty was actually good at one point.
So you’re blaming people watching a show for the show being complete dog ass?
Who else thinks he needs to make a video on Jentry Chau v.s the underworld?
Facts all seasons are great
Only seasons 1 and 2 are any good
other than that, only the Bushworld Adventures short and the anime are even close to decent.
@@Dr.Mlieko the anime is bad. All seasons are great. Not all seasons has to be perfect.
@@arinhossain2100 Nope, it is the reverse
Also, it is not that the new seasons are not perfect, they are just straight-up bad
The anime gives us something the main show has utterly failed to do
- give us an actual complete story arc
@@Dr.Mlieko nope all seasons are great. Season 3 was peak
Didn’t even know they had a new season
I loved watching Space Dandy when it aired.
I think the show is fine. It needs to commit to its premise though: Rick and Morty.
I also feel like the show doesn't do as much melding between sci fi/fantasy and the mundane, when it really should. That's where it's at its best.
Season 3 was the best season for me idk why people say it’s worse than the older ones
Fr. I think all seasons are good but season 3 was peak.
1) Season 3
2) Season 2
3) Season 1
4) Season 6
5) Season 7
6) Season 4
7) Season 5
@ yeah I agree with that list tbh season 4 and 5 we’re really disappointing. I liked the most recent season but getting used to the new voices is still weird for me. I hope the next season will be good
@@hezhez97 I agree. Season 4&5 were good but definitely underwhelming tbh
I'm so glad you mentioned Space Dandy!
Is Season 8 out...?
Their Actors were also Replaced!
No they weren’t.
Honestly for me the change in voice actors is just to distracting to make the show really enjoyable.
Story > episodic
I have the same feeling. Everytime they create a new ark they don't continue it for like 2 seasons and when they finally do cover it they make a single episode ending that entire ark
Season 1 & 2 were great. After that it became decent but I was pretty consistently disappointed
Season 3 was peak
The roundtable wasted potential...falloffs 🤭
When I randomly heard future music in tht one dragon episode I thought they was gon start adding rap like jojo
I enjoy rick and morty anime I can see your point it had more story telling but more slow less shocking
