This is a very impressive model of the NYC J3a class Hudson locomotive and Bachmann did an amazing job on this locomotive, Broadway Limited produced a model of the J1E class Hudson engines a while back and both of these engines look similar in appearance. I would love to see BLI produce an updated model of the J1E Hudson and see how it compares to the Bachmann j3a Hudson model, BLI stopped producing the J1E class Hudson models after the paragon 2 generation engine lineup.

What do you use as a grass mat?
Honestly I don’t remember, I’ve had this layout for a long time with the grass mat. It’s either a Bachmann or Woodland Scenics mat I think.
