My thoughts exactly. You can't see the ball when it goes out of frame but given the trajectory it must have bounced off the ceiling. Surely that doesn't count?

Graham Siggins old but I know the answer. It hit the bottom corner of a ceiling mounted speaker. Ceiling hits can be played off your own side legally. Since BYU hit it up there, the ball was still good
