Couldn`t agree more about the Haydock Park Fences .Red Rum used this as a National Warm Up, and Royal Frolic, Alverton & Cool Ground all won this before winning the Cheltenham Gold Cup a few weeks later. I also used to love the long Run in from the last fence which was very unique. They have also ruined Wetherby by moving it to the inside track.
great to see the classic haydock fences. Haydock have messed up losing those drop fences and moving the course to the inside. Very very sad and silly. Thanks for the post
back then owners and trainers used both horses for the Grand National and the Cheltenham gold cup but when the in the mid 90's BHB then ask Australia and hong kong jockey club to run their horse racing industry changed ever things

this race was ran at the new year meeting it replaced the northern handicap chase over 3 miles
