This season has been a dream when you consider the previous 30yrs. 3rd after 23 games, the players have been immense. We play well as a block, we lose that shape and we struggle. We were never challenging for the title, Liverpool are miles ahead of us in terms of quality. Its been a great season, but imo its too early for europe, playing 2 games a wk is a different ball game.
Villa fan here think you guys will make it to Europe, had such a good first half of the season like us last year. Think playing the same team week in week out is finally catching up to some of the players. Like us last year we had so many player’s over performing and the manager was doing wonders like you lot this year. Think you will crawl over the line even if you just miss out on champions league!
Why our style of play works exceptionally well when we take the lead, we have seen when we go behind in a game that it is not the ideal style of play because the other team don't have to commit as many players forward to get a goal which makes the counterattack far less effective. I would like to see us have more of the ball because we now have the squad able to play a little bit more possession based football rather than relying solely on fast counter attacking football.
It will be interesting to see what Bournemouth do to Liverpool. Their recent tactics are devastating, they also made a flying Newcastle look terrible. Nuno kinda underestimated them and we needed to be super tight for the first 20 mins? We'll be ok and it should galvanize us for the Brighton game. COYR
Bournemouth used 2 completely different tactics against Forest and Newcastle. Against Forest they had the ball and managed to find space between the lines - this was helped by them taking the lead with a long range shot meaning Forest had to come out and play. Against Newcastle, they went 1 for 1 ALL OVER the pitch and pressed Newcastle as soon as the ball went to a CB. It was a high risk high reward tactic that paid off. Neither of these 2 will work against Liverpool because Liverpool have 2 ball passing CB and a ball passing GK that if they overpress they will get torn apart with Liverpool's pace. While Liverpool won't give them the ball. However, Iraola is probably the best tactician in the league and I expect him to play against Liverpool how Forest play against other teams and sit back and hit them on the break. It will be interesting to see what they do.
Honestly Wolfie hand on heart nuno got it wrong yesterday. For me they did to us what we do to most teams week in week out. Why he opted for jota on the right wing I’ll never know. Why he moved elanga to the left wing to accommodate jota is baffling. If one injury of CHO can cause this much over thinking I don’t know what is happening. For me even if he wanted a back 4 which I don’t think was right for this game he should have kept elanga on the right wing and played sosa on the LW. For me it should have been a back 3 and Morato should have plyed instead of jota. Simple. No need for jota from the beginning. Offers nothing. If he would have played a back 3 the balance would have been so much better. That first goal wouldn’t have happened because someone would have definitely have engaged knowing they had people covering. The Brighton game will teach us a lot. Every game is big but can we just turn up and win again. It won’t be easy because they will want a reaction too.
Should've kept Elanga on the right and started Sosa who at least has pace. Jota is just a Portuguese Ryan Yates and tries to buy free kicks all the time
Thank you for this, I was destroyed by the loss, but this brought clarity and understanding to it. We are still in 3rd and we are still an amazing team!!!
Pretty much in complete agreement with this analysis. After the match I chatted to a friend who is a goober and he just remarked the lack of plan b and crippling poor squad depth esp in terms of attacking options is going to cost us .
I've no problem giving the opposition credit. When we lost to Newcastle they bossed us and thoroughly deserved the win. I can accept losing but it's the way we lost and who we lost to. There was no fight, no urgency, no togetherness and we just looked like a Championship side playing a Champions League side - let's be honest. I'm not going to give Bournemouth credit though as I despise them. I haven't forgotten them beating us with 10 men in the Championship or using the weather to call off a game as they had an injury crisis or blatant goals ruled out or Boly sent off wrongly or being 2-0 up and still somehow losing and I just can't stand their fans and their League 2 shed of a ground - just no time for them whatsoever so I'm never giving them credit and as you said, Wolfie, Direby would've beaten us yesterday. As for the Plan B, we did start to press in the second half but we concede another silly goal and then the damage is done. The opposition will be looking at this performance and seeing how Bournemouth swept us aside. If you score an early goal, we just capitulate. We rely on scoring first and keeping it tight. Plenty still to play for though and we definitely need some new signings and we have a week to get it right. I will say though some people were overreacting. You can't claim that players whove been brilliant for us all season are suddenly garbage - it's just moronic. Jota is better as a sub though just like Yates - they shouldn't be starting games and Sangare and Danilo will be like new signings
Totally agree about depth. Danilo and Sangare will be our depth in midfield for this season but still think we need to get someone to control games in there. But out wide in fullback and wingers along with a striker is a must now!
It sucks to hear this or bother to read but this was the game we had to lose. Bournemouth have been in great form and I was worried about Kluivert before the game started. Agree with a lot of comments already posted about early missed chance and how other teams that go ahead can reduce their risks for the counter attack Forest has shown. I still like Plan A and in Uncle Nuno I trust much better defensively and for most of the season making the most of chances taken. The loss has helped to highlight what is needed on the January shopping list. Crypto on GOR nailed it with how to use Elanga and with CHO and Sangare out the depth was laid bare. Recruitment team are scouting well and I hope they find a goal scoring winger, striker and a number 6 that strikes fear into the hearts of every EPL midfield playmaker. Dominguez is an absolute workhorse in Midfield, Anderson and MGW are creative and can get the front line supplied. Until we get a scary number 6 might I suggest Morato be given a shot sitting in front of Murillo and Milenkovic that would be like trying to deal with that AC Milan defence that gave Ruud Van Nistelrooy nightmares COYR!
I agree with all of this, Wolfie. We need that 6. I have been worried all season about how easy it has been at times to get through. The back line has kept us in it, but they need protection. I am a Grumpy Old Red. It's likely I will be even more grumpy this week 😬
We need to bounce back quickly i feared during the Southampton game that we were looking shaky and it showed against Bournemouth😢. Hope this is just a blip we need some players during the window.
I will agree with you partially about the CDM part, i think there is our main weakness, But is not just about Sangare, is that the way we play we need two CDMs with defensive style, even if Sangare was playing yesterday, he will need Dominguez or Yates by his side, and NOT Anderson. Anderson has been very good but me personally i came with the final conclusion that Anderson and MGW doesnt fit in the same team . Only if we play Southampton or a Championship team for the cup . For me Anderson and MGW should never start again , they should share the 8-10 position time.
The inflexibility of Nuno was brutally exposed yesterday. Clutching onto 4-2-3-1 like a lucky rabbit's foot isn't going to cut it against quality teams with dynamic coaches. Yesterday we had a doormat midfield. Top coaches make lots of adjustments rather than wholesale changes in match sometimes every 15-20 mins. 4-2-3-1 relies on absolute top class wing play and clearly Jota/Sosa are not up to scratch. I'm still confused to why we had to ship 5 yesterday...
Something wasn't right. Even against Newcastle, Man City and Arsenal we were just outclassed but you couldn't say we didn't try or the unity was in question but yesterday it looked like we'd been on the lash on Friday night and we offered absolutely nothing and showed no fight, desire or unity
@@adamalexander5181 I agree mate, early on for the first goal Aina running away from Kluivert was hideous. Collective meltdown or something, maybe we have been playing matches like cup finals and finally getting exhausted? Maybe a plan B lol
Other teams have now sussed out Nuno's tactics. He needs to change them. Aina was completely at fault for the first goal. Continually tracking back, instead of tackling the attacking player.
@jonathantalks7 as Wolfie said it was like a continuation of the Southampton second half and we got away with it as they’re crap but come up against a decent team and we got trounced. Surely losing CHO can’t cause that much disarray? And why did no player speak to BBC Radio Nottingham after the defeat? I find that interesting
@@adamalexander5181 I guess its all character building....maybe the players can't accept defeat and talk about it or confident enough to handle defeat? Interesting as you say...
Great shout ...we all no what it does when it's a loss like.. Nufc fans have been at the same rodeo .. recently so it's up to ourselves to put it right... looking forard to meeting youse in Feb at St James z Hwtl ps don't change your style 4 the comments! Hwtl 😎
It was coming scoring first and setting up two banks of four can only work so much what happens when the other team scores first ..... yeah we see what happens
One of the main disappointments for me was the way we capitulated. That wasnt good enough. Get beaten, fine. But dont just get lazy and give up. That's not ok.
Let's stop riding the excitement and look for 7th, top 4 form, but we're still punching without the right recruitment if it happens before end of January.
We definitely need a centre midfielder who stays in position a bit like john mcgovern used to pick up loose balls.Absolutely yesterday you could drive a bus through the gaps left !!!!
Still early in the building of a team and squad. We are so far ahead of schedule this season it's almost surreal. All in good time. No panic buys, no panic sales. Just stay on course and don;'t be distracted by 'noise'.
As you rightly say, the midfield wasn't there. Kluivert showed what Forest are missing in their team. Domingues doesn't cut it me, and Yates is becoming too predictable . The building process, has to be aligned with the financial fair play rules. In all honesty it is easy to see the fault lines in the side, but who would have put money on Forest being in the top 5 at this stage of the season. The difficulty is going to be maintaining this run, especially as Bournemouth showed how easy Forest capitulated when up against it.
Didn't see this result or performance coming but I believe it won't be the start of our slide. We are overachieving. We have to be at our maximum to get a European place. Anything less we will fail.
@kwameswain7229 nobody saw it coming but the performance is incredibly worrying and no player speaking to Colin Fray after the game has annoyed me as well
Your idea of plan B worked perfectly against villa we forced a mistake off cash by surrounding him high up the pitch and immediately scored a winner the evidence is right there and it frustrates me no one is willing to use it
I felt the players were confused and uncertain about the tactics and instructions they were given as to how they were supposed to play. Deer in the headlights for most of them. Scary. Let's hope the confidence and morale isn't damaged too much going forward.
Yup.. I was tearing my hair out seeing Forest defending deep even when we were 2 nil down. Gotta press higher up and take more control of the ball. Can’t play counter anymore!!
We got found out .Jotta ain't good enough ,missed Hudson .Need better players on the bench .They have us a taste of our own medicine . Their forwards were exceptional
I agree we need to find players not just to push the ones we have but are better thats anothervway of creating a squad at the minute we dont have that. We need 3 players in. Winger striker and 6 even with Sangare coming back expecting him Just to come stright back in. Dint think that happens he will be drip fed back in like Danilo so your looking at the end of the season. So a 6 is needed as well. Me personally i dont see all 3 done the is window. 1 maybe 2 but ive also said dont be surprised at none
Same team pretty much for 24 games, I’m thinking they’re just tired, hence the lack of press and energy. Will be interesting to see if we recruit some depth in the coming weeks.
Sangare is not the saviour, please don’t revert to type Wolfie mate. And I need to add that a six will not shine in a low block system. Before anyone jumps in, Liverpool second half, Southampton last 25’ and most of Bournemouth. I’m with you on Bournemouth, why would I like them? I do like how they’ve avoided the PSR penalties but they have had much longer than us to rebuild, which a calm head can see we’re still doing. So keep calm and carry on, Marinakis has a plan and so does Nuno. We’re over achieving this season, we play most games with much the same 11 or 12 players. The subs always look good coming into a winning side. And maybe a couple of them have got niggling injuries, Murillo, Williams, and CHO definitely have. Now I hope that young Forest fans respect our history, the Legends team that won all those trophies had 15 very very good players, no shortage of class and massive heart.
The problem is our plan A really depends on doing the basics very well. So if plan A fails as badly as it did on Saturday, any B plan is going to be hard to achieve. The writing was on the wall from the 2nd half against Liverpool. I wouldn't panic too much as it's one really bad result. It's how they react that really matters. Nuno made mistakes on Saturday, as did the whole team. I can't see us playing many games where pretty much every player on the pitch has a complete stinker.
The main bit of our plan going forward is: don't play Bournemouth again. Of course this will not be any part of Nuno's thinking. His focus, obviously, will be on what WE have to improve. A missed pass by Dominguez. Murillo over-running in defense. A few clear errors. Mainly related to giving too much space. But realistically even if we had not made those mistakes Bournemouth still would have beaten us at our very best, probably at least 3-nil. The credit is 90% to them. They played some absolutely magical spells, worked like trojans, wanted it more and when they smelled blood they went in for the kill. So good. The scoreline flattered us. My one consolation is that even after a loss we are STILL 3rd with a buffer to 4th. That's how good we have been till now.
Plan b after halftime was to press, we started closing down the backline in possession and it played right into their hands. As a team we rely on scoring first and as a team chasing the lead we seem to lose these matches we dont have control in
The first goal, Kluivert just picked ut up in iwn half and was allowed to get to the D to shoot. Nuno was furious yesterday. As he said, 7 goals in 3 halves. Compact and busy. Two frailties ...Williams at LB isnt strobg enough. Doesn't defend well enough, no assists, no goals. Effort yes, but effort isn't ability. Second is Yates, too many freekicks, not a starter. The whole team didn't do us justice yesterday...they know that, but we conceded more after the subs which shows you, the depth isn't there. Danilo seems to have disappeared. Sangare too injury prone. We need LB, DCM, CM and winger/striker. We're not going to get that in January. Press reset and start Sosa if CHO not fit v Brighton.❤🌳
Bournemouth did to us what they did to Newcastle and what Newcastle did to us .They took out attackers, and we have seen this before in other games. Once you take our attack out the game were crap but yesterday was alot of bad passing and giving the ball away and not keeping there lines its why it made it worse then the other game were team took out our attack
It's a lot easier to bounce back when you're talking about the odd player having a shocker but this was pretty much the whole team. Beating Brighton would be up there with the best results of the season due to the circumstances coming into the game.
It’s just a reminder that we still carry some of the flaws we had in the previous two years. We did so well to be where we are now but it’s too soon for the champions league
Sometimes you need a bad result to get the angry and passion back. We had an insane run and are capable of doing it again. Just a bad day in the office. Nothing more.
I totally agree on the roller-coaster parable. That's what one expect after being a sort of red since 1987, and the last two games have made me feel at home 😜. Personally I like to speculate on the psycological aspects of the game. Nuno wont be affected oc, but I don't believe that players (and esp young ones) can go unmarked by the flood of material that have been available on Forest the last five or six months, subconciously that is. Hope they realize now that all that material is of no value wse. We all nead alarm calls to stay awake dont we.
I don't think its a coincidence that this season , that when we have won or drew it is because we have scored first , because then we were then able to keep our formation compact , defend well and hit on the break. Only the villa game we came back but it were in the second half when we conceded. I have said in most of the defeats, Nuno has picked either the wrong team or formation, i know u might say thats ok in hindsight but, I would have played either the formation/players we played at Anfield or played a 3-5-1-1 formation and packed the midfield and have stated this on Fftv comments before the games. When we have played and lost , the teams we have played have been teams in form or teams with excellent midfields. Arsenal, Newcastle, Man C, Fulham and now Bournemouth. We can't play with 2 midfielders against those type of teams who are in form or have better midfielders than us. We need a third midfielder in there. Keep it tight similar to what we did at Anfield then bring the wingers on if so fit. As far as I'm concerned we will keep getting these 3-0 , 5-0 results in these games until Nuno changes it. Or if we sign a player that vastly improves our center midfield in January. If we go a goal behind , we have to open up our compact formation to try and equalise which leaves us massively exposed, look at yesterday, so like wolverine said, we need a plan B. COYR
Plan B is to not panic... it was one bad performance. We have had a great run so far, there could be multiple factors.. it could even be a bad day at the office. We need to see how it unfolds going forward because if we give a convincing win next game, everybody will forget about it. If we knee jerk it will send us in a spiral
Well my dream was mid table, I did upgrade that to maybe Europe. So I’m cool. I must admit I was shocked by the total domination by Bournemouth and collapse by Forest. Looking at the last few games we were on the wane, poor second halves against Liverpool and Southampton, however I did expect us to go back to basics after Southampton and at least be tight at the back. But it just went right out of the window, and we’ve lost the energy to break from defence.
@ because we offered nothing other than defence, nothing, and conceded. So fortunately we had a goal in the first half, Liverpool didn’t have to worry about conceding a second at any point and had ten players in our half during open play at times. That’s my view, if you see it differently that’s fine.
We win some we loose some it's just one game not time to press the self destruct button just yet it's about how we learn from the result and bounce back
This season won’t come again for years. Expect next year to be tougher. Getting tonked reminded me of Man City 6-0, Fulham 5-0 etc we don’t do it in halves when we press the destruct button. Need a 6 from this league, who I don’t know.
@@adamalexander5181 Hi Adam, I agree the team looked tired and lacked interest, but 90% of our goal kicks went straight to B,mouth, allowing them to attack again. Plus we have a long term issue in being able to hold onto possession, which encourages teams to swarm in take the ball from us.
The shortcomings of the back 4 system for us has been exposed for a few games , but has been "masked"(until Southampton) by poor opposition shooting, inspired goalkeeping and individual last ditch defending. So whilst a plan B is essential, we probably have to revisit and re-establish our plan A
Defo need a plan b we were so flat yesterday n the first goal was awful you know he's got a good shot don't let him keep coming forward n shooting basic things we done wrong!!!we defo need another striker with pace if it's not going right we can change it n get back in the back.we need press more up the pitch n not sit back!!!!you reds❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Nuno is a great manager, in my opinion, the best the club has ever had. Some players do however need to go. The ones that just aren't good enough at this level. Awoniyi - when he comes on, it's like playing with ten men and no striker. Slow, lazy, not forward thinking. A championship striker, at best. Silva - Again, runs round quite slowly (at this level) like a burst balloon but creates very little. Not good enough. Moreno- Send him back to villa. The reason he's on loan from them is because he's not good enough for their team. And we've beaten Villa, so what does that say. I have to question Ryan Yates, as he's like a hand grenade with the pin half out... never know when he's gonna get a second yellow. His commitment and ability are up there but needs to calm down. It was embarrassing to watch the reds against Bournemouth. Elanga played very well, wood got no service, gibbs white kept getting fowled, We were torn to shreds. The team looked slow and lethargic, like it was all too much trouble to play well. Nuno looked disgusted and furious, and I think we'll see a different team against brighton. Fingers crossed.
Forest will have the same problem we (Newcastle) have and do have when recruiting players, in fact, Forest will find it even more difficult. There are only a small number of players who can make an instant impact and when you narrow down the realistic targets, it becomes even smaller. The problem? These players are targeted by more 'attractive' clubs that convincing them to come relies on factors beyond your control e.g. other clubs pulling out. Let's take Cunha, he would be a brilliant signing and could even push you to get a CL spot. The problem? Arsenal, Spurs, and even us are more desirable clubs than Forest. Most footballers outside England probably don't even know Forest have won 2 x CL and Forest doesn't have the prestige they once had. Gimenez would be a great striker for you but unless you are his only option and he doesn't think he'll get a better deal, it's hard to even get a player like him. We got lucky for a bit because many players who came to us thought we would be like City and thus were sold e.g. Tonali, Botman, Guimaraes. Well, after finishing 7th, many realised it might take 5+ years for us to get there so they got put off and hence we couldn't get anyone last Summer. The only one we could convince was Guehi but we saw how that ended. The moral? FFP is an issue but a bigger hurdle to clubs trying to become a CL club is convincing the best players to come. Right now, you probably only have one option and that option is to overpay for potential CL quality players and hope they develop - we paid £63m for Isak which seems a snip but at the time he had ONE good La Liga season, was coming off a 6 goal league season and was valued at only £30m on transfermarkt. We took a gamble and it paid off, Man Utd tried the same with Hojland and it looks to have not paid off. Heck, paying £45m for Gordon, £35m for Livramento and £28m for Hall was far above their market value but we have managed to develop them. I think Forest have 4 options: 1. Overpay for a Wissa (like £40m) and hope he can get you CL football 2. Pay £50m for a Tyler Dibling like player and develop them into a CL quality player. 3. Search the Championship for the next Eze, Olise etc. 4. Buy players like Giminez but give them low release clauses e.g. £50m (European clubs can't afford much more than this) The problem with 2. and 3. is it will take 1-2 years for them to start making an impact while 1. can leave you in financial problems and 4. means big clubs will just poach them. The footballing landscape is just stacked against smaller clubs.
Seeing Yatesy run back with his hand up in apology as the 1st goal was about to be scored was massively depressing. We can't leave space like that. These things will be analysed and addressed and we will be better for Brighton. Yatesy had a good dig, we had some chances but we looked like a sieve. (edit) and Bournemouth are very, very good on their day.
@jamescunningham1973 as much as I love the guy j, that entire phase of play was idiotic, Nuno needs a megaphone, we can't have all of our midfielders charging off box to box and all of our defenders then backing off and expect anything except a butt whoopin in this league. We don't usually look like that (Spurs) hope he sorts it and hands out a few well earned bollockings
@K33f11 couldnt watch it where i am just kept seeing tge score come in,pkayers looked like they werent in it,lets see the next game,we need reinforcements without a doubt
@@jamescunningham1973 I can't afford to watch live games on TV at the moment. I watched the start later on. Very uncharacteristic of how this team behaves this season. Teams will now know how to play us if they go ahead. It may be a blessing in disguise 🇮🇹
We already have a plan B. Question is why did he not use it???? 3 at the back !! A one or two nil loss may have resulted but it would not have been 5 and we may have just been able to draw them onto us and play our tried and trusted game. We had 49% possession - that is way too much for this team to cope with.
For me we have not got enough quality of backup teams like livrpool, arsenal, have quality to come on as subs, our subs dont offer anything they only weaken our side when sent on.
I'm no expert. So seemed so tired. Seven unanswered goals. Beaten to position on defense. Poor Sels, no help so suddenly ordinary. 2 games now I've not heard MGW's name spoken in play by play. Yes, I guess, "we need a #6", although that term is new to me.
I'm not a conspiracy theorist but I have my own little conspiracy with this. The games that we have lost have all been very similar in ways of performance or the lack of it. Sitting off, no pressing, no energy or fight and a whole lot of giving them shit loads of space. I'm in the mind that they have picked out beforehand games they are having to throw. Due to our schedule and the strength in depth that we sadly lack. I believe there is some fatigue in our squad and losing a few games is a long term strategy for damage limitation. A form of forfeit, drop the energy, drop the effort and take the loss. It shows in the lack of performance, we know they are better than that so we end up being completely flabbergasted by it. I don't know, it's a theory, I'm probably wrong but it's happened again and I can't get my head around that performance. Every team can have a bad day but not like that. Go down fighting is a preferable option.
You can't expect to finish top four with bottom four tactics....but you've got the manager you've got... there's no point expecting him to start playing exciting football now.
Look, this is not the first time is it? Arsenal, Newcastle & City dismantled us 3-0!! We are totally capable of just crumbling. Usually by just cutting through our non existent midfield!! We need a solid midfield!
Dream isn't over - looked like a different side yesterday - we looked lethargic and over confident and when we went 1-0 down and we looked totally deflated and in retreat - before half time - whattt.
@ I agree Bmth pressing was superb and we were beaten by a team who wanted it more. Would love to see Sangare back as Wolfie is right we need a 6. You never know this result might get the big man to tell Nuno to go and get a couple of players to give more options especially if we concede first
Plan B is the back 5… we can’t just start being a high press team… our xGA has been top 4 now for one and half seasons… we’re brilliant defensively. Just have to hold a bad performance and loss sometimes. Back to the same lineups and tactics that got us here next game.
Strange enough they started well but mentally fell apart tbh. Reaction against Brighton and we’ll be fine. God knows why Forest didn’t win second balls though, almost as if we didn’t know how to win
The Yates sub was a mistake. Should have taken off Aina. I’d have had Danilo or Morato on for Jota and played Elanga up with Wood. Jota is a good sub but doesn’t offer enough as a starter. Once we’d fallen apart there wasn’t anything Nuno could have done. Bournemouth had a fantastic game. A pity we couldn’t have played them a few weeks ago.
After watching your mate Mamushy at Man City v Chelsea, we are gonna get another roasting when we play them. Harland will not miss as many chances as he did last when we played them at home. What he doesn't score, Mamushy will. Yesterday was a 1 off .... or will it be.
Chris Wood plays high up the pitch, exactly the same way that Haaland at Man City does. Both of them rely on crosses being delivered to them. Neither of them run all over the pitch because that's not their job. Their job is to maintain their position high up the pitch and get the goals from those crosses being delivered to them. If Chris Wood was as bad as you say he is, he wouldn't have one of the best goal-scoring records in the Premiership.

Jota is just a Portuguese Ryan Yates and tries to buy free kicks all the time
Yeah, I never understood why Elanga was on the left
He's picked the same 11 for ages and the fatigue was showing vs Liverpool
Southampton battered us 2nd half
Great analysis
Thank you for this, I was destroyed by the loss, but this brought clarity and understanding to it. We are still in 3rd and we are still an amazing team!!!
The dream isn’t over yet! But if we carry on like today it will be.
The Bournemouth squad seems stronger than ours. They had a ton of injuries. Ouattara was a stand in! Their keeper played better than Sels did too.
I believe we need a midfielder, striker and a winger . To strengthen the team. Keep up the great work Wolverine
Big up my brother! Bad result but shit happens. You guys have been great this year.
I agree with all of this, Wolfie. We need that 6. I have been worried all season about how easy it has been at times to get through. The back line has kept us in it, but they need protection.
I am a Grumpy Old Red. It's likely I will be even more grumpy this week 😬
@alan-overthenet we shouldve gone 3 at the back given how many crosses they get into the box
We need to bounce back quickly i feared during the Southampton game that we were looking shaky and it showed against Bournemouth😢. Hope this is just a blip we need some players during the window.
We will always come back stronger as our club wants to always make us proud as a forest supporter
We looked fragile, that's worrying. A top four team shouldn't have such a beating in the season.
Great shout ...we all no what it does
when it's a loss
like.. Nufc fans have been at the same rodeo .. recently so it's up to ourselves to put it right... looking forard to meeting youse in Feb at St James z Hwtl ps don't change your style 4 the comments! Hwtl 😎
We need to keep Woods CHO Elanga Anderson and MGW fit for the rest of the season. We have only lost games when those 5 haven't started.
It was coming scoring first and setting up two banks of four can only work so much what happens when the other team scores first ..... yeah we see what happens
One of the main disappointments for me was the way we capitulated. That wasnt good enough. Get beaten, fine. But dont just get lazy and give up. That's not ok.
Agreed
Yep, they gave up and caved in big time, that shows a worrying lack of character
Let's stop riding the excitement and look for 7th, top 4 form, but we're still punching without the right recruitment if it happens before end of January.
@deepee7803 if it doesn't happen then the season could be a write off
We definitely need a centre midfielder who stays in position a bit like john mcgovern used to pick up loose balls.Absolutely yesterday you could drive a bus through the gaps left !!!!
O ,brian
Interesting how not one player gave a post match interview to BBC Radio Nottingham it seems - when was the last time that happened?
@kwameswain7229 nobody saw it coming but the performance is incredibly worrying and no player speaking to Colin Fray after the game has annoyed me as well
Nah mate, you're all good. Stay passionate. You're only saying what we're thinking anyway😅
Your idea of plan B worked perfectly against villa we forced a mistake off cash by surrounding him high up the pitch and immediately scored a winner the evidence is right there and it frustrates me no one is willing to use it
Hopefully we can improve and carry on with our good results
Forest have Hade a Great season, the dream is not over, we can still finish in the top 4 that will be fantastic.
Well said Wolfie, yes we lost these important potential players
I agree we need to find players not just to push the ones we have but are better thats anothervway of creating a squad at the minute we dont have that. We need 3 players in. Winger striker and 6 even with Sangare coming back expecting him
Just to come stright back in. Dint think that happens he will be drip fed back in like Danilo so your looking at the end of the season. So a 6 is needed as well. Me personally i dont see all 3 done the is window. 1 maybe 2 but ive also said dont be surprised at none
totally agree about sangare wolfie, that first goal would never have happened with a good version of him there
No Nuno will put it right 👍
You're right about needing a # 6. Having that player would have stopped their first goal.
Same team pretty much for 24 games, I’m thinking they’re just tired, hence the lack of press and energy. Will be interesting to see if we recruit some depth in the coming weeks.
*week, window closes on Monday February 3rd.
@freddiefreeman4119 you are aware of Sangare's stats before he got injured, right?
@ I’ve watched every game he’s played in
How do you hold 5 to jason bournemouth! you'll never sing that , you'll never sing that losing to bournemouth 5 0 youl'll never sing that
The problem is our plan A really depends on doing the basics very well.
For the first goal Aina ran past Kluivert to stand in no man's land and could have tackled him 40 yards from the goal
Yep, I couldn't believe what I was seeing, not sure what he was thinking
Jota falling of feathers, Yates trying to bum everyone and Nico dancing on ice 💩
As a team we rely on scoring first and as a team chasing the lead we seem to lose these matches we dont have control in
We had no outlay yesterday, missed Hudson massively
He was a huge miss and Nuno should've started Sosa as least he has pace
NF came out in the second half and tried to press..how did that work out for you?
We looked okay but the second goal threw it all out the window
Bournemouth did to us what they did to Newcastle and what Newcastle did to us .They took out attackers, and we have seen this before in other games. Once you take our attack out the game were crap but yesterday was alot of bad passing and giving the ball away and not keeping there lines its why it made it worse then the other game were team took out our attack
Good points
Yeah agreed we need someone to dictate the tempo of a game.
Having a proper midfielder to control the game gives a breather to the team and mixes up the tempo...that was horrid yesterday
Hopefully
We can't beat anyone around us. Gonna slip out of this
We don’t need to beat them but we couldn’t even draw sadly
Yesterday was vile. But i hope we bounce back and learn.
@paulchester338 that was the worst performance since Nuno has been manager, so very worrying tbh
How was the Liverpool second half poor? We defended well, dug in and got the result which is what we've done all season
We need to improve our passing, be able to play out from the back and hold possession. Not being able to do this is why we get beaten.
Nothing to do with that. We just didn't do the basics and had no fight or desire
So whilst a plan B is essential, we probably have to revisit and re-establish our plan A
Yep, our back 4 has been very over rated by a lot of people, they were non existent yesterday, even Milenkovic was awful
It was like a hot knife through butter. Shocking!!!!!
I think Forest have 4 options:
1. Overpay for a Wissa (like £40m) and hope he can get you CL football
2. Pay £50m for a Tyler Dibling like player and develop them into a CL quality player.
3. Search the Championship for the next Eze, Olise etc.
4. Buy players like Giminez but give them low release clauses e.g. £50m (European clubs can't afford much more than this)
The problem with 2. and 3. is it will take 1-2 years for them to start making an impact while 1. can leave you in financial problems and 4. means big clubs will just poach them. The footballing landscape is just stacked against smaller clubs.
Where has Danillo gone?, thought he’d be on bench at least.
You should be depressed when you see his name on the team sheet K
@K33f11 yeah, pkan Bs and Cs are always good
We already have a plan B. Question is why did he not use it???? 3 at the back !! A one or two nil loss may have resulted but it would not have been 5 and we may have just been able to draw them onto us and play our tried and trusted game. We had 49% possession - that is way too much for this team to cope with.
That looked like a player protest performance what happened with the Dubai trip didn’t see any video release of it
What Dubai trip?
The team looks very tired which i can't understand when you consider other sides field a full team in midweek for European games
We didn't look interested which is a tad worrying - was men against boys
Leicester won the league with the same tactics
Look, this is not the first time is it? Arsenal, Newcastle & City dismantled us 3-0!! We are totally capable of just crumbling. Usually by just cutting through our non existent midfield!! We need a solid midfield!
Dream isn't over - looked like a different side yesterday - we looked lethargic and over confident and when we went 1-0 down and we looked totally deflated and in retreat - before half time - whattt.
Are we getting anyone?
No
Look how we recovered after the Newcastle and Shitty games, Nuno will get it sorted
Hope you’re right but we were just outclassed in those games - today we just didn’t look interested and offered nothing
No shame in getting tonked by Bournemouth these days. Scored 16 in the last 4 games with no recognized striker
Strange enough they started well but mentally fell apart tbh. Reaction against Brighton and we’ll be fine. God knows why Forest didn’t win second balls though, almost as if we didn’t know how to win
On the plus side at least you don't have to predict 0-0
Finally! 😂😂
We we're shit from 1-11 today and that is the concern. No single player at fault and we were beaten by a very, very good team, IT HAPPENS!
@thewatchman468 they weren't that good; we were just abysmal
The Yates sub was a mistake. Should have taken off Aina. I’d have had Danilo or Morato on for Jota and played Elanga up with Wood. Jota is a good sub but doesn’t offer enough as a starter.
Once we’d fallen apart there wasn’t anything Nuno could have done. Bournemouth had a fantastic game. A pity we couldn’t have played them a few weeks ago.
could have taken anyone off outside of Elanga, they were all crap
I doubt very much that we'll sign anybody at all this window.
Don't worry we're aren't fussed about you but oh it's happened again lol but good video
After watching your mate Mamushy at Man City v Chelsea, we are gonna get another roasting when we play them. Harland will not miss as many chances as he did last when we played them at home. What he doesn't score, Mamushy will.
Yesterday was a 1 off .... or will it be.
All of a sudden everything looks bleak.
Eve bro still feeling the pain god dam hurts
Spanked. And yeah it was bloody hilarious. That said I genuinely wish Forest well for the rest of the season.
And I genuinely think you're a cock🤡
We just have to admit that we cant beat Bournemouth. They are to good for uss everytime they plays uss home and away
Let’s be honest here, Chris wood is shit unless he scores! I know some of us have this weird fascination with some players!
