Maybe I'm dumb or I simply just like her and I repress something... But what if she's searching for something or Someone. And maybe she feels rejected from us and from Him because she learned to associate any type of constructive criticism with hatered. Again it may be a stretch... But what if...

@@Me-vd9ch I think she's like many other people who want spirituality without true religion, and that's because God created us to long for him, supposedly she was raised as Christian and she probably got to experienced some of the positive aspects of it and the idea of God, but she wouldn't be as successful as she is if she were actually committed to her faith. Instead of dying to herself she clearly fell for the 3 temptations that Jesus rejected.

Michael really explained it very well, what Taylor was trying to potray in this song. What She said in amazon prime music : “I think it’s a very fatalistic album in that there are lots of very dramatic lines about life or death and I love you, it’s ruining my life. These are very hyperbolic, dramatic things to say,” she noted. “But it’s that kind of album - it’s about a dramatic, artistic, tragic kind of take on love and loss.”
She said she “always imagined” that “Fortnight” occurred in an “American town where the American Dream you thought would happen to you didn’t.”
“You ended up not with the person you loved and now you have to just live with that every day, wondering what would’ve been, maybe seeing them out,” she explained. “And that’s a pretty tragic concept, really. So I was just writing from that perspective.”

I think calling the song fortnight was just a way for them to increase visibility. When you name something after something else that's popular or a similar name to something that's popular, the google search engine tends to show them at the same time. And since fortnight is popular amongst kids and kids are easy to entertaine and get hooked onto things quicker... I conclude that naming the song fortnight was just a marketing tacktic to increase not only their money flow but their fan base as well. When it comes to the rich and famouse enough is never enough.

Hey Americans 🇺🇸, every other English speaking country uses the word "fortnight"; It just means 2 weeks. We use it all the time, super useful. It's nothing to do with the game. "I'll see you in a fortnight!". In business, you might have 'fortnightly meetings'.

that is why Michael said there "could" be a double entendre or innuendo on the word fortnight and fortnite as there could possibly be a reference to the game too without losing the primary meaning of the word... TF is a creative lyricist, she could have 2-3 meanings in one word she uses in a song...so yeah...🫠

Since Taylor Swift is American, "fortnight" is not a word she would commonly use. So, it makes sense to consider what reasons she may have had for using it in this song.

  • @InanaNinsianna

Fortnight is one word, but it is separated into two words and the opening credits. From there you can look at the meaning slightly differently and possibly a bit less broadly.

what taylor said about fortnite on amazon music :
“I think it’s a very fatalistic album in that there are lots of very dramatic lines about life or death and I love you, it’s ruining my life.
