  • Have you ever heard people say, "I remember the good old days when..."? I've said those same words regarding megalodon tooth hunting in Summerville. Well we ran into a short lived place that was just like the old days, but this time I had a video camera so you could come along. Wanna see what its like to collect shark teeth at a site that had some of the best fossil bearing formation I've ever seen? Watch this video for a glimpse!

The formations seems quite rich in sediments! Making the fossils here been covered with brownish yet mixed with a rusty irony red colour!
    Way to go!

+Alexander Huijsmans thank you! I did not take material from this site to search for micros but I have from others. The formation at this site was reformulated many times so its not the best to search for tiny teeth. We have an oligocene deposit here called the Chandler Bridge that has never been disturbed since it was the ocean bottom and that is the one I search.

I am still floored... as I have heard some say of me with artifacts and points... in the fantastic volume you have been able to locate. Would you say it has been a really self-taught understanding as to how you locate them?? Have you thought that those many Meg teeth might be sometimes off the same shark? Thanks again! Keep moving forward! Ben

Indian Trace could go either way. our formations have been washed around by the ocean so its possible that the teeth tumbled some distance before coming to rest where we found them. it is also possible that the reformulation was not chaotic and the teeth are associated. either way they have found good homes now!
