I think the social media account following is very different because Tom is also an author. He ventured into that when McFly took a break. And he still writes now. Though all of the members also have their solo endeavors.
And Tom was a regular RUclipsr for a few years. He and his sister Carrie did vlogbrothers style videos back and forth (sometimes with Gi). Carrie has her own following with her musical career and both were very popular in that British wave of 2010s vloggers.
In McFly's early days they used to be the support act for Busted and were even referred to as "Baby Busted" 🙂
Tom is the reason McFly exists!
Tom is probably more famous than Danny. He has loads viral videos with his wife and three sons. Also his sister, Carrie Hope Fletcher, is a famous singer in musicals on the West End. His wife is also well known author and podcaster in the UK. Danny is fairly known though, he is a judge on The Voice Kids UK. Dougie won a huge reality competition over here called 'I'm a celebrity, get me out of here', (Tom's wife also won this recently). Harry won Strictly Come Dancing (Dancing with the stars). So they are all similarly well known in their own rights outside of the band, but Tom the most I would say.

I think we have lots of great bands in the UK that are massive in Europe but not "over the pond" it works the same visa versa, always amazes me how bands like 5SOS are criminally underrated in the UK, their latest album went into the album charts at number 1 and went straight back out the next week.
Most of the best must has come out of the U.K. , like Procsl.Harum for example.
@@marygriffiths2950 Gosh that's going back a bit, Whiter Shade Of Pale, now I loved that song but my brother hates it, personally my favourite artist is Leonard Cohen(Canadian) who has always done well in the UK
McFly and Busted separately were massive. imo McFly more so. But yeah McBusted were massive. I'm pretty sure they had the biggest selling tour in the UK in 2014/15

Busted two albums after reuniting are incredible and james bourne from busted co wrote alot mcflys early song's
Busted wrote and had had international hit with year 3000 before jonas brothers covered it
