I've never been a Labour supporter, and didnt agree with Prescott politically. However he wasn't a 'focus. Group' politician. He fought for his beliefs, and was a champion of the working classes far more than any of the current Labour politicians.
I always liked John Prescott when he was the Shadow Transport Secretary, however when Labour got into Government I can't remember what exactly he acheived. When he was Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions the remit was too much for him. Labour then beefed up his role as Deputy Prime Minister and made it a separate Department (ODPM) which has long since been dispanded. I never felt he was at the heart of the decision making process and cannot think of any significant change that he was responsible for. I think his strength was his popularity at the grass roots level. He was a good communicator and campaigner and could get ordinary people out to vote.
Granted he was very much more down-to-earth than today's Labour, but his brutal behaviour towards you, punching you a public reporter, doesn't say a lot about this 'Lord'. I know we shouldn't speak ill of the dead, but that was the real John Prescott whom I felt was too bullish.
My God what a worm Lammy is. See how he attempts to wriggle up the rectums of those he has recognised as not good to get on the wrong side of, like a tapeworm looking for a shortcut in.
Best tribute, Andrew.
George Eaton appears to be by far the most level headed & sensible member of the NS board.
“Lord” Prescott. I always thought he was against the “Lords”. He was certainly a character. Politics in the UK will be poorer without him.
RIP John❤

Instead of China or America, how about Europe?
took me a while to realise this lady isn't Rachel Maddow from MSNBC 🤣
RIP John
Prescutt was a known philanderer, not mentioned at all.
We are all going to forget that he was at War crimina l Bairs side when he conned us all and murdered thousands.

Just like JD Vance and Elon Musk have already done.
Is there another yellow cover you guys made, ever? Or is it the deep need to not be outpaced by da jermahns?
I'm sorry but what a joke of a man Lammy is. Compare him to Robin Cook.
Robin Cook was a class above Prescott. He knew how to behave, was well spoken and didn't go around punching people in the face!
@@johnsboxand yet the comment was about Lammy.
@howardchambers9679 Now I see, but this is how I compare Prescott to Cook. Lammy is just different in his own way.
😂😂😂😂😂
Lammy is not fit for office
Prescott never punched Marr.
Do these people never stop lying?
He did; I was there.
Grow up
