Chanel flap was always on my list, but looking at the reviews and seeing how saggy this bag can become, I am glad that I went for YSL, not only I don’t feel that I need to be so careful with it but also is more practical from my point of view.

That classic flap is such a beautiful color!!! I definitely would choose it first - I love YSL, but that particular style didn't work for me - it was a bit too stiff, although it is undeniably beautiful too:).❤

I also regret not buying the Chanel cf sooner and I’d repurchase it in a heartbeat if it ever were to go missing - I’d probably cry over the price tag 🙈 BUT even though there are so many beautiful alternatives, none of them feel like Chanel 😭

Very informative, Dani! I didn’t know the Saint Laurent one has such a long chain and stiff leather. I don’t own any Saint Laurent bags and I’m not sure if I need yet another Flap bag 😄. They’ve also raised their prices quite a bit in the last couple of years. Ah… The medium CF. Sigh… if I can turn back the clock to 10 years ago, I’d chose the medium instead of the jumbo, but if I can only turn back to 5 years ago, I’d buy it in the store.
Yeah, I think if you really want the classic flap, don’t distract yourself with the Saint Laurent. Maybe wait till the jumbo is trendy again and then swap it for a medium. The jumbo is really expensive at the boutique now too (price upon request)❤️

Great review! These are both beautiful. The tenting doesn’t bother me, it’s going to happen just because of the shape of the bag. I had the YSL envelope bag and I sold it because the capacity was so limited. I found I had to wiggle everything into it and eventually I would get wear on my pieces from rubbing. However, it’s beautiful, and I would consider it in a larger size. If the classic flap holds less, that might never be for me. 😥
The classic flap does hold less, Dawn😅 mine is in the medium/large too. So the small would fit even less. It doesn’t help we need to be “precious” with it and not over stuff it/ use an organiser etc😅 I think both of these bags are bought for love, rather than practicality.
