Bravo Israel a worthy winner - we love you! Izhar Cohen & Alphabeta gave a great performance. They also included surely the tallest backing singer in Eurovision history ? It is impressive to see him towering over everybody and dancing so well. It made me wonder if any of Alphabeta went on to solo careers too? Jean Vallee certainly sang well and merited his points. This was a strong contest over all. I think Ireen Sheer deserved more for her performance of Feuer, but all in all a good show.
News Note 4. 1978 Eurovision Presenter Denise Fabre Born Sep. 5 - 1942. She is 78 years old as of this date. The Second Presenter was Leon Zitrone (1914 - 1995). He died on his 81 st Birthday.
A memorable contest in Paris with some great entries, but the camerawork and lighting were both beyond atrocious. The UK strangely got their first ever placing outside the top-10. I've never been able to get on the love train for the rather half-composed Belgian song, but Luxembourg deserved to finish a lot higher than they did. Even though the scoreboard is very ugly, it was very innovative to split between the green room, presenters and scoreboard at parts - something Italy should've thought of in 1991!
So it's male domination that year. Most of the top 10 countries are male artists, with three on the Top 3. France (charming 😊), Belgium (gorgeous in white suit), and Israel (has the most adorable afro hair IMO)

United Kingdom should have won. Great catchy tune, typical Eurovision winner. And nice stage presence. I believe this shocking placing destroyed the band, Co-Co. Sadly.

@@esc9726 Nope. It's because I think only one song was worse this year. I don't dislike songs based on who sings it, but on how well I like the actual song. Turkey has had many great songs in eurovision, but not this one, IMO.

La unica canción que me gusto fue la ganadora, digna representante de la musica disco, muy de moda en aquella epoca. La verdad este fue uno de los años mas flojos, este y el anterior me parecieron mediocres en canciones y esos aburridas intervalos, aburridos conductores y ni hubo postales. Festival olvidable👎
