I always felt kind of weird since most of my nerd friends would never dream of spending an entire weekend in nature away from tech, and my nature friendly friends would never willingly sit an entire weekend by the computer, I was always right in the middle of those two groups, and I'm happy to see there's more like me out there.

While not in a wheelchair myself, I got problems with my back and knees, so I feel the same way ❤
There are many very capable atv wheelchairs nowadays and if you save up, I’m sure you’ll get there one day. Some have tracks and can literally go anywhere
As soon as I saw this was out I watched it.
I live in Virginia. So we have the Appalachians here too. When I was younger, I lived right down the road from there. It is beautiful! I can see why you guys chose there. Thanks for taking us along!

Nerd - knee pads are a real help to me when hiking. Crain makes a well-desgned pair, and you will find yourself wearing them during projects as well. Best wishes.

Nice choice on the Stanley adventure cook set I lived in my car and the woods for 7 months and it did great on my propane stove and also directly on the camp fire 👍👍✌️🤙❤️

I really enjoyed this Im going camping tomorrow actually and this was a nice video to watch, because i am going with my 17 yr old son and our doggo to a wooded area with a creek running through it. This just reminded of my trip when it rained and then actually had some hailstorm action for a lil bit but it was awesome.

The Linville Gorge is also known as the East Coast Grand Canyon. I personally been quite close to that area while working. I personally live in North Carolina so going there isn't a far a some would have to go to get there.
I'm surprised you didn't widdle your own walking sticks out of some crazy material. Lol. Just went with the store bought ones. Lol. Great video.

Hey! I lived in Asheville for 13 years and was just up on the parkway visiting the Linville River at the bottom of the gorge, and I took pics of Table Rock from the overlook. Was cool to see the view from the top.

Tent hammocks are so nice compared to a tent. I have a Warbonnet Blackbird. You have to make sure to insulate underneath you to keep the from sapping your heat from your body, even in mild temperatures.

I recently did 125 miles in 2 weeks with 45 pound backpack in Swiss Alps. Every night slept 6500 - 10000 feet high. The most beautiful hike of my entire life. It was so beautiful up there I kept forgetting about the heavy bag and pain.

Looked like you had fun doing the trip even though you got rained upon. That red dirt that you were walking on was red clay. North Carolina is full of red clay. The clay is red because of all the oxidizing iron in it.
