Greenslades Volvo B7TL (Voith/€3) 1434HP

A celebrity vehicle in the Greenslades fleet in Exeter is former Lothian 701, the first of hundreds of Volvo Geminis new to the operator. It was outshopped back into the Harlequin livery and made its debut during 2019, but was later sold on with downsizing of the company’s preserved fleet, and found itself to Greenslades during 2023.
Normally employed on schools, it’s known to appear on the 356 service like here. Just myself onboard for this trip, a pleasant surprise!

18:20 revvy downshift uphill

Was never in preservation. Only repainted along a single deck for the 100 years celebration. Lothian Buses never had any intention of retaining it.

Probably because it has the same Voith gearbox used on many ALX400s, but not all sound like that
