House our family lives in built in 1941. Its a wonderful place, solid with good design and craftsmanship. I enjoy seeing period videos like this one and thinking of what life in USA was like back then.
Our house was built in 1941 as well. 3 bdrm 2 ba. Back yard with no swimming pool. Last at the ripe old age of 82, it sold for $1,005,000 in Burbank California.

The 1940 Ford was one of the most flawlessly beautiful mass-produced cars ever built, particularly the Deluxe. In design it left the other "low priced" cars, including the holy Chevrolet for 1940, back in the dust. Unfortunately I've never owned an actual one but as a model builder since childhood (I'm 64) I've built plenty of model kits of the '40 Ford, some of which are sitting on my shelves right now. Hands down, there will never be another car like it...
Nice! And that business coupe was really stretching it saying that it was a five-person car. Maybe 2 persons and 3 midgets. (You could say "midgets" in 1940) Also, the pronunciation of the word, coupé was over the top.
How come ladies back then look so much more beautiful it has to do with character and self-esteem not trying to be like everybody else but trying to be like themselves beauty wins and saving themselves for marriage and then her key factor in their beauty.
I had a 40 business coupe, 40 sedan at the same time in the 90s. Be careful when installing the split bench seat. I had the latch (hook) for the passenger side seat go through the palm of my hand after I got it in place & my buddy pushed the driver side seatback back in place. Didn't hurt much but its a kool story 30 years later. 😊 I also had a 40 Plymouth along with the fords. That Plymouth got the most attention though. ✌❤
The 1939 Ford was a little better looking than the 1940. But I would have chosen the new Plymouth for its superior engineering ... my Grandpa bought a new 1935 Plymouth which he kept until after WWII.

To bad thay didn't have sloted mags or turbo fine mags or creagers all in all I would gladly take any one of these and be one of the most happyest people on earth great to see this thanks for sharing this with us
Nowadays they show odd looking people and weird family units singing along as they drive into the sunset. Fade to black, buy the car and you too won't be miserable anymore.
These old school announcers are great... they made everything sound like a dramatic event... I wish I had one of these 1940 Fords

Surprisingly, they were nearly tin cans. All that heft didn’t equal safety as we know it today.
1940 was such a fine year for Ford.
That was the year Henry Ford really teamed up with the Nazis
How many crankshafts do you see on tv these days. How many people even know what they are.
Our last three cars didn’t have a crankshaft. Didn’t even have a driveshaft.
Dumbing down America. Owners manuals used to give instructions on valve adjustments. Now they tell us not to drink the battery acid.

The bussiness coupe is beautiful
That vacuum operated automatic softtop is incredible.
Somewhat vacuum operated systems seems bit more sophisticated than nowdays electronicals.
Grandmas rocking the stick shift back in the day! Those 1940 Ford's are way cool.
Well I don't know what's going on with Ford. I went to the dealership looking for these cars, and they didn't have any of them in stock. ☹️
Do they even still sell cars? I mean, you might get lucky, and they’ll have a few mustangs, but pretty much cars are disappearing like station wagons.
Business coupe was the favorite of the moonshine runners

Coupe is a 2seater. Coupeee lol
I'd be all about the convertable!

Rarely seen today.
M grandparents first car was 1939 Ford Coupe. $25 a month.
Wow, it must be almost paid off by now🤣

These old cars had all of the features what lots of today's cars doesn't have.
Esos son autos,no la basura que se hace hoy en día,que hermosos autos.
Amazing! 😍😍😍👏👏👏
I love how back then a sedan had two doors and a coupe had a retractable convertible top.
My dad had a 85 hp he loved that car.

I'll take your entire stock!
This style of marketing was similar to Australian Car advertisement and marketing in the fifties and early sixties.
The convertible coupe would always snag, and remove, my grandpa's toupee.
Great advert for great cars for 1940. Meanwhile, in Europe....
Why does the narration not seem to fit the period this was created in?
Quit yelling at me!
Hush boy lol

Remember when America made men

Interesting to hear a correct pronunciation of "coupé"!

I’ll have one. If you please stop shouting so enthusiastically.
only bluetooth then was if someone drank a blueberry drink 😳 back then 85 horsepower less traffic.. now 400 horsepower to rush to the next red light 😂
Probably better built then they are now🤔
The US is making car adverts while Europe is ablaze, the Blitz has started and the Battle of Britain is raging over south east England.
Cómo le das a los pedales con tus tacos altos de agujero
Requesting captions please?
Request denied😅

Why is he yelling?
To get your attention. 🇬🇧👍😁

Should have blown the fedora clean off the audience heads.

Meanwhile Henry Ford was fighting ww2 for nazis .
