That must've been the Dairyman's Special Edition there...it can haul the cows, MILK the cows, and hell, it even is known to kill a cow when occasion arises. And all for $1! Eric is a great family historian. He is knowledgeable and has a great memory and it's obvious he has a passion for these old trucks. Another great interview, Red. And that 379 at 3:09 🤤
Nothing fancy, just a good old fashioned work truck. I think it was definitely worth a dollar. Kudos Red for recognizing this truck and its representative
It is nice to see one of these Dodges, really nice cabover, back in the day all those trucks were a rough riding ,air ride seat were very nice to have, and made the miles tolerable.
Hey red, thank you for putting this video out. I rarely get to see these Dodge cabovers like this. Rarely get to see any Dodge big rigs at all and when it comes to I'm a Mopar nut. I just love all of the Mopar vehicles regardless, even the big rigs, even if they're not all that pretty, I still love them. I remember running across one of these one day for sale and there's no way in the world. I can afford it but I still had to stop and look at it. It was really cool. I think it was the 19 70 model but it was very similar to this I think the one I was looking at I believe if I remember correctly had a 8v71 diesel and I'm thinking it was turbocharged. However, that's been a long time ago but it's still a really cool truck and too bad I couldn't get it and squirrel l it away
I'm excited to see this video. Because people have laughed at me, some even cussed me out saying: "DODGE NEVER MADE A CLASS-8 TRUCK". As many times as I have told them about the old days when I used to see CAB OVERS on the road every day. Now, I have evidence of what I already knew. MY GOD HOW I MISS THE OLD DAYS WHEN WE HAD GREAT STUFF OUT THERE.
Imagine if the Dodge Ram Trucks division of Stellantis brought this truck back in an updated version that meets the current federal and state highway and commercial vehicle codes for big rigs. This one would come back as a RAM 6500 or RAM 7500.
I used to have a 72 cabover Dodge with a 903 Cummins, 13 speed. Loved it.

I remember them, not many around even when they were new so this is a rare truck !
Gotta love trucks like this with a history!💪👍
My whole truck tour playlist includes stories like this!
The D10D10Dodge was the first truck I drove at Global Van Lines. Had a 318 Detroit, and a single axle
D1000

The story on their Marmon cabover is also pretty great - it’s linked in the description.
@@MissFlatbedRed I am not sharp on devices, where would I link Marmon cabover.
Thanks.

I have an entire playlist of big Dodges :) they made a variety of them.
I have 2 ‘67 W200 Power Wagons. One has headlight bezels like yours. The other has no grill. I love the 1000 badge! Nice truck!
I drove a 73 like that with a 8v71 318 Detroit in it Hauling steel in Detroit. I love her bell bottoms 👍
Interesting setup
Awesome!
Nice Truck...
Wooow.
Greetings from Germany Peter
My uncle’s 900 Dodge dump truck had the same drivetrain. Cabover Dodge trucks were popular in mid-Michigan when I was a kid but rare nowadays.
Beautiful trucks
Cool story
The front reminds me of a sort of crackerbox truck variant.
would like to buy that old dodge....
👍👍
Small cam 250 Cummins mmmmm
Nice. :bout 9 years before big cam Cummins
I would love to restore that thing and run it around the country.

Inline engine slightly tilted onto its side, very much like what Ford had to do to get inline engines into their L-series trucks.
wow she really had some huge bell bottom jeans on old school jeans
That’s about how I always dress at truck shows, and when I make appearances in my own videos. I’m easy to find.
How come all these Cool Gentleman will save art such as this?
