I am prepared to claim Saariaho my favorite living composer based on this one work alone which I have on the Horizon 5 compilation. I just received her "Works for Orchestra" boxed set on the Ondine label, but haven't had time to open it yet! I can hardly wait. If it's half as good as this, I'll be very pleased.
+Caroline Cohen Caroline I agree . My guest is that maybe this lady is a millionaire and pay lot of money to put her music to be heard. This is disgusting
+Ruben Orta she definitely isn't a millionaire. She's a well-respected and highly influential Finnish composer. The world of art music needs her pieces to keep progressing forward. If she wrote music that sounded like Beethoven, it wouldn't be innovative or needed because we already have music like that.
A wonderful composer. One of the great contemporary artists.
What a great channel this is.
Absolutely wonderful. Onoe of the most beautifull musics I heard these last years!
RIP you queen 🧡
Musica incantatoria.Un capolavoro di integrazione tra suoni dell'orchestra e quelli elettronici.
I am studying her for a presentation for Music Theory class at Oregon State University. :)
Techniquement très bien, musicalement désastreux.

I prefer Ades to her, but good call has been made there nevertheless.
So good.

Parts of this really remind me of the album "Aura" by Palle Mikkelborg and Miles Davis.
