Lil Lotus & Maggie Lindemann R 2 artists that just started 2020-2021. Lil Lotus isn't a new artist but he started doin solo stuff recently & his newest song released is pop punk. I think it's called Think Of Me Tonight. Maggie Lindemann just released an EP that's really good. I'm sure uve already heard Mod Suns newest album but if anyone hasn't u should check it out! I got tickets 2C Mod Sun/Girlfriends, All Time Low & JXDN/MGK this fall.

for those confused about Story Untold, a "french" pop punk band. They're from Quebec, Canada which can be considered a French Territory. This also explains why none of them have French accents whatsoever.
Thanks for the clarification! I thought I heard one of the band members say "We're French" in an interview when he didn't know how to say something in English, so I just rolled with that and didn't do more research. Appreciate it :)
I feel like I don’t understand genre classification anymore at all. I just listened to Creeper and I can’t call it anything close to pop punk. Was there even a fast song? To me, it’s kinda starts off like Beatles inspired 90s alternative then kinda changes into a gothic type singer songwriter vibe that could be on the soundtrack of A Series of Unfortunate Events.
Fair enough, I mean I struggle with genre classification too, plus everyone has their own interpretations. I'd say Creeper's pretty versatile, not sure how best to describe them. Like "Cyanide" is definitely not a pop punk song, but I would say "Hiding With Boys" is. They do some pop punk but also multiple other genres (often within the same song). Perhaps I could have clarified that more in the video. Thx for watching! :)

While I think they are pretty decent, they were not what I was looking for at the time. I would call This Creeper album Alternative, but all the bands currently being called alternative are something different now. (Old man yells at cloud). Also… Eternity, in your arms is definitely pop punk… so if you have been into them for a while, I can see why you’d classify them in there.
I agree 100%, the classification of punk has changed so much since the 90’s. Hell, since the 70’s when it started. I see so many people classify things punk or pop punk. That for myself isn’t either. Same goes for emo. I feel like the old person who says to everyone “you have no clue what punk is”. However, everything evolves I guess, and adapts a new sound. But, still has to be forced into a box.
Point North is by far my favorite on this list!!! They are amazing! Definitely should check them out if you've never heard them!!! Literally haven't heard a song yet that I haven't played back to back a million times. They even did a cover of Hammer (Nothing Nowhere) and although I like Nothing Nowhere as well, I have to say, I didnt appreciate the song as much until Point North covered it! I noticed someone mentioned kennyhoopla as well, and I agree, really good music if you haven't checked him out yet either.
You should totally check out AViVA! She used to make old-Melanie Martinez/Ellise type of music, but she recently released two pop punk songs (The Saint & The Sinner, and Children In The Dark), and I think they’re really good! I’ve been listening to her since her start, but I’ve since grown into the pop punk genre, and she’s started to gear toreards that! So I would check her out!
