  • Formerly Anambra International cargo/Passenger Airport Umueri, Anambra State. The new airport has exceeded expectations with the number of passengers flying through it. The airport is serviced by two local airlines United Nigeria and ‪@airpeace5937‬ with daily flights to Lagos and Abuja and private jet service.

Thanks for the detailed tour. I have watched a lot of vlogs about this airport and yours stands out as the most thorough and informative. At first glance, the terminal looks small from the outside but the inside view shows it's quite spacious. And those complaining that it's too small to be an international airport should realize that it's not building size that determines the classification of an airport. There are many international airports overseas with comparatively smaller footprints and buildings. There are a lot of business travelers from the Southeast and if given proper attention this airport can compete with any of the Abuja and Lagos airports in revenue. Hoping that the airport authority keeps up with maintenance and landscaping. Cudos.

Thanks to Obiano for building this airport. At least Obiano has one infrastructure project we can remember him for. Unlike Peter Obi that has zero infrastructure . A man wasted 8years of Anambra and only looted to hide in South America s Pandora loots. Very useless governor. No wonder those naija people rejected him.

This airport is big enough to be an international airport considering its size and runway. The jet bridge would not take long to complete if the State's Government wants to and is serious in installing the Jet bridges as provided. The length of the Anambra Airport runway is 3.7km, and a runway end safety area (RESA) of 1km at both ends of the runway. This runway is the second-longest runway in Nigeria. So, the Airport meets all the standards for both domestic and International Operations. The problem is that Nigeria's aviation industry is very small this is why you don't have many flights into and out of the airport. Air Peace and United Nigeria are the only airlines that operates from this airport. Ibom Air could get a slot at the airport if there are enough passengers, or if it is a busy airport.
The airport can handle any size of airplane, probably with minor adjustments for Airbus A-380. For international flights, no foreign airline would want to fly to a ROUTE THAT IS NOT PROFITABLE/LUCRATIVE. Other than Lagos (which is an old route) and Abuja (New), no other airport could be profitable to foreign airlines like British Airways, Air France, Delta, Lufthansa, and those big-name airlines.
There is much more to explain, but I will stop here. I hope these answer your questions and thoughts?
