I thought that was such a dumb thing to say to the MC. No matter what anyone says, it's not okay to like someone who already has a partner. And a way to combat that is to distance yourself. Not doing so will emotionally drain you in many ways.
Unrequited love is just not worth it. Distance yourself and move on.

What you say is what human with balanced mind and emotions would. And in general men dislike women with partners (psychology and history), women with partners means competition and wasted resources. Women on the other hand take liking to men with partners due to conservation of resources i.e. other woman has already vetted him to be good at "something" (be it sex, money or father material or even anything else).

You know, I know everyone wants to focus on the misunderstanding, but I just can't help and be petty. So yesterday, it was ok to make a boy jealous to get him to confess, but today he's the villain for essentially doing the same thing. Even more, he still has to be the one to confess.

I honestly feel bad for Kaneda. Why and how was Takuto supposed to know that Akihito and Megumi weren't dating when the natural reaction to what he just saw would be the worst-case scenario? Logic dictates that Takuto moves on and let's them be because breaking up the relationship would be worse than the betrayal of their friendship in the first place.
Seriously, Akihito just berated his own best friend, for something he and Megumi caused and never bothered to realize even though they spoke about the misunderstanding happening immediately after it happened.
And Megumi did nothing but mock and make fun of Takuto for the entire beginning of the story, and never even apologized for it at the end. She even got in the way of Takuto's and Kaneda's relationship.
Kaneda was a much better girl. She saw an opportunity when she heard Takuto was single, openly confessed her feelings, and was always kind towards him. And he broke things up before they could happen because if Megumi. Takuto should have just let his two friends go, they got each other, Akihito even had feelings for Megumi, and Takuto should have stuck with Kaneda. Hopefully she finds her own love someday, she really deserves it after being stood up by Takuto.

That was the weirdest ending I’ve seen from one of these stories. Those friends of his were kinda scumbags for doing that and then pushing the blame on MC, because he caught them like 2 inches from each other’s faces, even joking in the moment it looked like they were kissing. If I was MC I’d be super paranoid with the whole “I do like her” and the “to me, both of you are the best boys” statements. It just is like a frustrating reverse harem ending for the FMC, even though she doesn’t deserve it.

Afterstory: the other girl knew all of this and as she knew the FMC and MC were close. During the date the other girl said she wasn’t interested in dating but was being nice to the MC who saved her. She left good terms.

Yep, I bet right after their first argument Megumi "trying to figure out the MC" by talking to Akihito suddenly finds herself in his arms. MC should've chosen Kaneda. She never puts him down or compares him to Akihito like Megumi constantly does. I get the "misunderstanding" story its a common trope especially on these channels. However a introducing a second girl just for her to be a sacrifice to get the main couple together I think is all together worse than a tsundere. This isn't the worst one in that context but it's just not great.

Next is the mc's friend was angry at him for the misunderstanding while the manga bear version had the mc's beat friend wanting to talk to him at a restaurant he invites him to after he stops talking to the fmc and was calm about the whole thing. Also, on the manga bear version, his friend gives a sounding advice to where the next day at night, he gets a phonecall from the fmc and hears her crying but this one, the mc has to run to the mc after his friend chews him out when he was about to go on a date with another girl and the fmc reprimanded him for that. My only sad concern was the other girl he saved from a delinquent. What was the point of adding her in this story when the mc was just gonna run to the fmc in the end once the misunderstanding was cleared up? Even the nana kuma ending had a double date at a festival but this one ended on a mixed note for me since he had to cancel the date of the other girl he saved. Why is it that whenever a man misunderstands,he has to apologize but when the fmc misunderstands,HE STILL NEEDS TO APOLOGIZE?! WHY?! I'm starting to think that romcom channels or manga dubs in general are starting to plagiarize other channels off of each other and tweaking it up for a different setting, story or whatever.
