I was at their gig in Dublin last night, IT WAS AMAZING!!!!! I briefly met them before the gig and got my photo taken with Este and Alana, they're really nice. I have been looking up their music again today and just noticed a comment of mine got lots of thumbs up. Thanks, people. I still can't wait for the album, I can't get enough of their music and they ROCK live! Go see them!!!
These girls grew up in the San Fernando Valley, not Santa Monica, for Christ's sake. Sure, they went to a good high school and yes, have the advantage of hand-me-down instruments galore from their parents, but their parents REALTORS who played music for fun. I agree, their voices aren't strong, but I'd say their musical skills and the energy they put in their live performances make up for it. Besides, indie music is FULL of kids from privileged families - why not pick on them, too?
Fiona Apple (when she's trying) and Jenny Lewis have strong voices. The Haim girls seem to struggle with breath support, and so they tend to get breathy and off-pitch. I've also heard Danielle sing harmony with Blake Mills and there are times in which she simply does not sing the right notes. Though I'd like to note that I wrote that entire thing in their DEFENSE because I love their music and I think they put on a damn good live show - I have no interest in "attacking" them.

Danielle is clearly the rock star.
They certainly were the sound of 2013, in my opinion of course.

Thank the goddess I'm subscribed to bbc here on YT!!! I've discovered HAIM!

it's because she's high as hell and it's awesome!
Their voices aren't strong? Wow. I thought they're amazing. What is a strong voice in your opinion?
My new favorite band,,, but check out the Mustang Sally Band folks,, they are also red hot,,,, have a look at their version of Freebird,,,,,
so big already before the album is even out! Legendary
It's like Kate from Lost and her sisters
What are the bands they said they liked?
but I love it when she's loud.
Danielle just tried to totally skip the part about them being in a band with their parents 🤣
Barely recognized Este without her signature lipstick, but she still looks pretty damned hot without it. Rawr!!

That's what Huw Stephens looks like, more Radio 4 than Radio 1. Haim are great, though.
AlunaGeorge and Angel Haze
i come from a poor background but do not resent "rich kids!" doing well. If you have passion anyone can make it. You find a way if you have the will..
too late, she's sat on my face as i type this. riding me like i'm Sea Biscuit.
who?
i'll fight you, winner gets to marry her?

I have got to work with these girls! They are this generations best band!
