I love the card project idea. We have lost two of our sons. I know the love you are creating will help families during their heart break. Thank you for always being a part of these loving and kind project. Hugs
Jennifer, these are absolutely gorgeous!! I just got my Minc today & can hardly wait to get my errands done tomorrow so I can sit down with it & start experimenting & experiencing!! Thank you for the link for the Lasting Hearts card drive. I plan to start participating. Both of my sisters have lost children. My oldest sister lost her son when he was just 16. He was her only child. She & my ex-brother in law went through so much just to have him. He was our little miracle. He & my son were born exactly 30 days apart. My other sister lost her first born last year. She had a seizure, her heart stopped, & the ER staff was unable to get it beating again. She left behind 2 beautiful children & 2 grandchildren. God bless!!
I used double sided tape (the red tape from AC) to make a striped background. The tape is quite thick, so you get a raised gold stripe on your cardstock. I have also just scribbled on cardstock with a chisel tip glue pen to create a fun background. Both give great results!
I have found that the Zig glue pens also work - the difficulty with glues is knowing exactly when they reach maximum tack. Also, running it through an embossing machine to really press it in, can be useful - if using a dry glue. If you try that with a wet glue it will just spread it! Double sided tapes work well too.
I know this probably isn't the right place for this, but I just want to let you (and any of your viewers who might be interested) know that Joann.com has Heidi Swapp Minc foil on sale for $2.49 a roll right now, for the 6in x 5ft rolls. Not sure how long that's gonna last, but it's still on sale today (2/8/16). Jennifer thank you so much for this video. I had just ordered some foil yesterday and will be trying out some of the different ways that you show how to do foiling with. I don't have a toner printer, so this will really come in handy. Love your cards, they are beautiful, as always.
I absolutely LOVE these cards. I don’t know if I would use these specific foiling techniques but I love the stamp, the colors you used and I adore that embossing folder! You find the greatest options!
I am in AWE of your inventive, inspirational brain. This is a stunning set of cards and I do so appreciate your experimenting, and teaching us different methods, and whether or not they work well. I have so many new ideas now. Thank you! :D
This is an awesome game changer for me! My question is, what type of sheet are you using to pass through the laminator? It doesn't seem to fuse together after passing through the laminator. I understand that you have posted this approx 8 years ago and you may not see this question. Answers are welcomed from anyone.
Thank you for the tutorial on this foiling technique Jennifer . You always have great informative videos & I am thankful to learn more about card making. Thank you very much for all your knowledge on card making.
I bought some of the Deco Foil when it was on clearance at Michaels, I had 26 tubes and 12 colors. I just cut them 6x6 for easier handling and put them in a folder with page protectors. Now my question, do you have any suggestions for reusing the tubes? I don't want to just toss them. I also noticed I didn't get a bargain when I bought them on clearance. They were priced at normal for $4.99 and on sale for $1.99, but there is only one sheet of 6x12. Your link on your page has it for $5, but there are 5 (6x12) sheets in the tube. Thanks for all your great videos.
These cards turned out beautiful. And I really love that embossing folder. I have some, but not like that. It turned out WOW!!! What a sweet organization to send them to as well. Im a new subscriber. I enjoy what you have to share.
Hi, Jennifer. I've been watching your videos about foiling and ready to try it out. I'm wondering which laser printer you use or recommend that will take heavyweight cardstock like 80lb, 110lb?
Crafter's Companion has a product that works with adhesive but one must use their design. They are very lovely., however. Thanks for giving us another option.
I'm planning to make some art prints that i want to put small details in gold foil on, do you think there's a way to use a fine brush to brush the glue on or would a glue pen be the best option?
What is that plastic sheet? Why does it not melt and stick to the paper? I have laminator but I do not know if I have to put the plastic sheet or nothing or if it's a special plastic you are using. Can you help me with this information?
Very good video miss. I want to know a way to thin German White Glue so that I can write something by dipping a pen into it, then writing something on paper and then foiling on the written letters. Could u help me in this, please?
Thank you for doing this! Do you think it would work with versa mark and heat and stick powder? I love your idea about storing the foil in a flat sleeve.. You are such a beautiful lady Jennifer!
Hi Jennifer, I have a question for you. I have a Minc machine. I find that the smooth foil goes through it just fine, but whenever I try to run the glitter paper that came with the Minc through it, the carrier sheet bunches up and gets ruined. For some reason, I have not been successful using the glitter paper. Any suggestions?
Jennifer these cards are absolutely beautiful! Would it be possible to get the brand and colors of cardstock you used? I absolutely love all the colors! I've been trying to find a cardstock to match Simon Says Stamp ink color Blue Jay and I am hoping the blue color might be a match. Thank you so much!
Hi Jennifer ~ Love your video, as usual. Coincidentally, I'm using my Next Level folders for my Lasting Hearts cards as well. They add such a wonderful dimension to any project. Thanks so much for sharing all your foiling techniques & tips. #sharehandmadekindness
I have some left over foil this is light and flakey.... not on sheets like this. Any ideas on how to use it? I did this many years ago and want to use it up. thanks!
i have tried the flitter glue and it pulls my paper apart when I stamp it with my stamp? any ideas for help? I have tried the Ranger sticky embossing glue and I am not really happy with it either.
If you use a cheap laminator what kind of plastic sleeve do you suggest for putting the card through? I'm afraid I would end up laminating it! Lol. Thanks so much!
I use the essential glue pad for making stamps. When I put the foil on it I put it into the Minc (heat 3 or 4, tried both) but it doesn't cover the hole picture with the minc :( I tried a dozen times but no good result. Also when I use the inkt pen, I also get this (not as much as with the stamps) I see black spots here and there. What to do..
Sharona Heijnen Instructions on the back of the Essential Glue Pad say that it needs to be used on non-porous surfaces. Maybe your papers oaks in the glue and there's not enough left on the surface?
Also if using glitter or foil Stacy from Scrapbooking made simple does not use a laminator, but she says you really have to wait for the glue(essentials glue) to get good and tacky 5-30 minutes before applying anything to it. If you apply your glitter or foil right away it will rub off. If you wait for it to get real tacky, then nothing will rub off. Also none of the Paperwishes videos use a laminator, but they do use the flitter glue. She also says the bottle of glue that comes with the dry stamp pad is NOT A RE-INKER. you only spread on the pad the amount you need for your project. Stacey at Sims, shows many videos on foiling using die cuts and double sided adhesive or adhesive foam.
The one for the heat wave can't be used in the minc. It has something on the back that creates the bond with the paper when it is warmed up with the tool!
+Jennifer McGuire it would be fun to try with The Best Glue Ever, that's what I use for nail art foiling..I guess it would be the same principle as the deco foil glue?
I love the card project idea. We have lost two of our sons. I know the love you are creating will help families during their heart break. Thank you for always being a part of these loving and kind project. Hugs

Beautiful cards, thank you. I really thought the quilted card was a piece of quilted material, it looks so real, wow.
Hi Jennifer, I'm in Australia and I absolutely love your creative ideas. Thanks for sharing!
Love this! Love the versatility of this stamping technique.

Thank you for sharing this technique. You have inspired me to use foils on my cards Jennifer.
Thanks for this video. Of all the things you showed us, I loved the quilted embossing folder. That is so beautiful!!! Thanks for all you do.
Great video, I love the 'quick fix' method with the glue pen.x
I love the flitter glue the best. It turnes out awesome everytime. And I do have a laser printer but like to use my stamps too.

Beautiful cards and for such an important cause!
I have a laminating machine. I'm going to give it a try. Thanks for sharing your great ideas and stay blessed!
Very beautiful cards. Thank you for these hints.
What an awesome video. These cards are gorgeous!!!! Thank you😻
Thanks so much for your Minc technique video! I need more ideas to use my awesome machine.
Do you allow the glue pad, or the sticky glue you used, to dry FIRST before sending it through the Minc? I don't want to mess this up! Thanks!
These cards turned out beautiful. And I really love that embossing folder. I have some, but not like that. It turned out WOW!!! What a sweet organization to send them to as well. Im a new subscriber. I enjoy what you have to share.
Stacey from Scrapbooking Made Simple has a video using a Big Shot to add foil and it works nicely if you have a laminator.
Gorgeous cards, Jennifer! Thank you so much for sharing another fun technique with us! Two videos in one day...pinch me :)
Could you foil with mod podge instead of glue
Hi, Jennifer. I've been watching your videos about foiling and ready to try it out. I'm wondering which laser printer you use or recommend that will take heavyweight cardstock like 80lb, 110lb?
I really thought that you had sewn that background paper! I MUST get some of those embossing folders!
The Brutus Monroe glue works really well with this technique because it's formulated for heat. :)
Would running it through twice make it adhere better?
Really enjoy this video and found it very helpful! Your cards are beautiful! Thank you for Sharing!! God Bless Liz x
Crafter's Companion has a product that works with adhesive but one must use their design. They are very lovely., however. Thanks for giving us another option.
Thanks so much for this video. I use Deco Foil glue but will try others.
love that lilac! and i too store my foiling sheets in one of those documtn folders, getting them in and out of the tube got old fast ;-)
I'm planning to make some art prints that i want to put small details in gold foil on, do you think there's a way to use a fine brush to brush the glue on or would a glue pen be the best option?
Great ideas. Thank you.
Hi, does the tombo mono glue pen works for this? Thanks for your answer
I love your videos greetings from Argentina!
I have copied stamps on copier and then foiled it it worked well
you can make imiage larger os smaller as well
What is that plastic sheet? Why does it not melt and stick to the paper? I have laminator but I do not know if I have to put the plastic sheet or nothing or if it's a special plastic you are using. Can you help me with this information?
I could not find the Flitter glue anywhere. Is there a good alternative? :)
Very good video miss.
I want to know a way to thin German White Glue so that I can write something by dipping a pen into it, then writing something on paper and then foiling on the written letters. Could u help me in this, please?
I liked much cards, you're a artist.THANK YOU
This is great! I live for your videos! I can't wait to see your video once the new thermo web toner paper and the glue pen comes out from cha 2016.
Thank you for doing this! Do you think it would work with versa mark and heat and stick powder? I love your idea about storing the foil in a flat sleeve.. You are such a beautiful lady Jennifer!
+ElleLizzy May i have more success with this technique
Hi Jennifer LOve your videos. what do you do with the ink that gets in the foil? Does it mess up the foil?
Hi Jennifer - I don't have a Minc or a laminator. It is a great way to use foil on my cards. I will try it. Thanks
You can also use an iron after laser printing, just don't have the steam function on.
Jennifer, Love this, if I used a laminator, what type of sleeve would I use to run through it, that wouldn't fuse together?
Thanks!
+Kelley Green a folded piece of typing paper
+Jennifer McGuire Ink Thank you!

Hello madam H R U I watching your all project very nice and very easy also thank you so much
At 11:02, what tape and applicator are you using. I see you are applying double sided tape, but not sure. Thanks.
Is the glitter glue like the glitter glue
What is a substitute for glitter glue?
Jennifer these cards are absolutely beautiful! Would it be possible to get the brand and colors of cardstock you used? I absolutely love all the colors! I've been trying to find a cardstock to match Simon Says Stamp ink color Blue Jay and I am hoping the blue color might be a match. Thank you so much!
+Bizarre & Collective Creativity sorry i didnt' list this time. these were mostly gina k cardstocks
Hi Jennifer ~ Love your video, as usual. Coincidentally, I'm using my Next Level folders for my Lasting Hearts cards as well. They add such a wonderful dimension to any project. Thanks so much for sharing all your foiling techniques & tips.

Hi Jennifer,
Will the flitter glue work with the Heidi Swapp Minc foil?
I only have a laminator, or dry adhesives with a bone folder to 'burnish' the foil on.
Thanks so much for sharing this glue technique! Appreciate it! Aloha, Linda
Great Cards! Thank you.
If you use a cheap laminator what kind of plastic sleeve do you suggest for putting the card through? I'm afraid I would end up laminating it! Lol. Thanks so much!
Flwboe Parchment paper works great.
Simply amazing! Thanx

These are beautiful, I got a toner printer, and I use my laminator, but I found some of the images just did not take the foil, any idea why? xx
+mary wright they need to be printed in SUPER dark. the highest print setting.
+Jennifer McGuire Ink ah OK, thank you xx
Have you tried Decofoil's glue? Just curious if it would work like the Flitterglue?
+Traci Rickert i prefer the flitterglu
Is the we R memory keeps foil the same as what you used? I love how your cards turned out. ~ Hugs, Sherry
+Sherry Wolfe i am not sure. sorry!
The one for the heat wave can't be used in the minc. It has something on the back that creates the bond with the paper when it is warmed up with the tool!
+Siri Fjørtoft thank you so much. I appreciate your help.
I love your work Jenny :) I got a question about your sizzix big shot machine... which one do you have the normal one or the plus ??

+Mary Dawn Quirindongo THANK YOU for sharing that my love!
Thank you for helping us with foiling. You sure do make a case for purchasing a laser printer!! :)
what is a job ticket sleeve
I’ve had good luck with Mod Podge.
Thank you!! Marsha
love it
Have you seen Tim Hotz do foiling with sticky embossing powder -heat and stick powder, I think it is called.
+Natalie Barrington yes, it doesn't give a smooth foil look. it is a cool look, just not smooth.
+Jennifer McGuire Ink Good to know, I haven't tried it yet.
How about stamping and coping your personal stamp. No copyright problem there.
+318dexter318 sure!
جميل جدا شكرا مجهود طيب
can we use iron to fix foil ?
+Mansi Gole i have not tried that.
thank you !!! i like your creations
Nice
I have an idea: stamp your image on printer paper, scan it and then print it onto your cardstock! :)
+Joanna Szarkowska i mention that in the video but i do not do that because this is my job and i want to be careful of copyright policies.
Amazon has the same laminator for $19.99
+Jennifer McGuire it would be fun to try with The Best Glue Ever, that's what I use for nail art foiling..I guess it would be the same principle as the deco foil glue?
+Sam's Corner try it! :)
+Jennifer McGuire Ink I will as soon as I can get refill..and I upload the results! ;)
Couldnt you use a dry iron rather than having to buy a laminator? its all buy buy buy!!!
I love the card project idea. We have lost two of our sons. I know the love you are creating will help families during their heart break. Thank you for always being a part of these loving and kind project. Hugs
