Such an awesome idea to use die cuts to make your own "patterned" paper! I tend to use a lot of them in snailmail I send to penpals, they usually include little paper goodies so it's a great way to use them.
I was looking at all those weird die cuts in the beginning and thinking that there was no way you would come up with something awesome. All your ideas were cute. Random die-cut circles: genius!
I put all my wacky die cuts in a small box for my toddler. She loves glue-sticking them to cardstock. When she's done, I peel them up and we use them again and again.
This video has some awesome ideas!!! Thanks for sharing them! I love all of the different layouts you showed at the end. What creative ways to use tricky die cuts!
I love the photo mat and the numbers examples. But also being a literal person, I am stretching myself to think of them as color rather than literal meaning, and I find it is very freeing and I am definitely getting some more embellishments used.
This has been such an eye opening tutorial. I loved all your examples at the end to show how you used those die cuts that you didn't have any use for. Oh I have a lot too. Thanks for sharing!!!
I don't have a lot of die cut packs for the reasons you mentioned. I find them to be to something. But I do love a lot of them. It's the cute factor. You've really have some great ideas. Plenty of stickers I can use for these techniques. And the loads of extra Cricut and punched cuts I've saved, for who knows what. I just can't toss them. Thanks Jen
I even loved the die cuts all on a card before punching and just splashing it to a page. lol Now how to use all those tiny words and phrases. I am so literal, so layouts can be tricky, but loved these ideas.
I’m such a literalist when it comes to die cuts. Gotta admit I’m still not loving how you can see some of those random images in the circles. I think I‘d try putting a coordinating circle of patterned paper in the centre to make it even more abstract and so you can’t see anything but the colour. Maybe even add some dimension or put a die cut I did like over it. Love the ‘small doses’ layout though and using them as a photo mat. But my favourite one is the one holding your nephew - so dreamy and lovely.
The lil basket you can add lil flowers to it, mushrooms ive seen in jj. But yea i fill you i do have some too, you could go visit craftyladylisa. She has a channel whete ppl can make a wish list, ive seen ppl ask for die cuts. Great series. Just heard you have a fb group, you all can trade or just share! 😃
Love how you blended out the hard edge on the misted area! This whole layout is very creative. 👏🏻
I love how you used so many embellishments and unified them with shapes. Excellent idea!
