Google Frigate Birds.. another really cool avian species. They've been known to fly for 4 months continuously.. go on glide for up to 40 miles at a time without flapping a wing. Also, they'll feed in the open ocean by harassing other seabirds in the air until they regurgitate their food, and the Frigate will catch the food mid-air.. I've been fortunate to thermal with them in Mexico before.. Not afraid to surf the air on the leading edge of your wing either. Nice video Robert.

I just learned about shifts from Helen Macdonalds 7.29 article in NYT, now knowing that they sleep while flying, with half their brain asleep and half awake...which is also done by orca s swimming in the ocean. Thanks for this post, the view of the swifts.

Great shots! Found this searching for Slowmo footage of Common Swifts. (Trying to determine their wing geometry/sweep/AR). Not exactly disappointed. Lol.

I googled the swift and it lead me to your video. What a great, fascinating ride. I wanted to glide with a guide in Interlaken, Switzerland, but was too late. You have inspired me to put this at the top of my bucket list. Keep up the great videos.

Blossom haters? Can't imagine that. The last time I flew Blissom sure enough, the best lift at El Cap was filled with Swifts! Twerping with happiness, flying between me and my wing. Loved it! Hey patch those holes in your pod, don't be looking homeless.

There were, like 6 paragliders and powered-parachutes out on the front range the other day.
Between the fields south of the Larimer landfill, all the way up to Bobcat Ridge area on the west side of that ridge from the Buckhorn Rd.
You can probably look up the place that sells them for instructions/lessons. I don't fly these things, I stick to airplanes with engines, and sometimes sailplanes. Haha.
