This is such a great video. It got the top award for originality and a couple other awards the year it came out. This was the last album that was released before Freddie's death so it does not have live shots of him. When it gets to the Spanish guitar part, Steve Howe (guitarist for Yes band) is playing along with Brian. Howe was a bit intimidated to be playing on the title track of a Queen album and wasn't at all sure that he could master the Spanish guitar part, he aced it! Complex song writing and an amazing video. I love it!

took me 3-4 years to educate some of you that the flamenco solo was a duet between Howe and May.

Thanks Risby for reacting to this masterpiece... I thought you might like it... Freddie was too sick to do a music video of this and, of course, this was after they stopped touring so there is no actual live footage of this, but this video is so iconic in all its intricacies including claymation (which is amazing considering how it is filmed), the lyrics, the illustrations and animations, its all so amazing... and Steve Howe, the guitarist of YES doing the Spanish flamenco section riff was also fantastic... lots of wonderful requests in the comments, so I won't burden you with any more... thanks again... blessings.

The illustrations of band members were drawn in the style of different art eras. Freddie - Leonardo da Vinci 🎨 Brian - Victorian Etchings 🎨 Roger - Jackson Pollock 🎨 John - Pablo Picasso!! It also features a montage of historical stock footage from both WWII & the Gulf War. The claymation figures were animated by Klaybow films. 🏆 Fantastic song!!

The song is about men's endless quest to change the world's wrongs, but throughout all our history nothing changes, but we can change our individual selves, be all we can be. If each individual lives in kindness and love being true to ourselves, we can make our space in the world better. Keep smiling, because what will be, will be.

The Spanish acoustic guitar feature (while the clay-figure acrobats were shown) was a guest feature from Steve Howe, the extremely talented guitarist of legendary progressive-rock band Yes. This is the first and only time that Queen used a guitarist outside of their own band.
You should check out music by Yes as well --- "Roundabout" from their album Fragile is a great introduction

This is kind of like Bohemian Rhapsody part two. lol If you notice, John is not in the video except as a character. All the shots from the others are from previous films because Freddie was too ill to be seen. Glad you enjoyed the end of it. Thanks for reacting to this wonderful song. Try Don't Stop Me Now by Queen. I'll have to send you an email with a ton of suggestions from Country, oldies, etc. I could keep you in music for years. lol

Freddie lived for 'music' plus he was a trained artist with serious appreciation for creating music, lyrics and visuals that inspire, delight and feed our hearts and intellect. This Queen creation doesn't fail.

Great reaction. You will like Freddie’s sing In My Defense written by Dave Clark. It’s incredibly moving. Also:
Please try Save Me, Dragon Attack live Montreal 1981; or Its A Hard Life, It’s Late, Spread Your Wings or the banger Death on Two Legs, Liar, & Seven Seas of Rhye (early Queen)or live Wembley 1986- It’s A Kind of Magic, In The Lap of the Gods, Tie Your Mother Down.

The first time I heard Innuendo I didn't understand it at all, and wasn't sure if I liked it. After more times of hearing I now love this performance, so many twists and turns, such musicianship - I now have favourite bits that I listen out for.

They called it Innuendo due to their constant battle with the music press in England who were constantly misconstruing their songs, interviews, personal lives. The song lyrics are brilliant as they remind me of John Lennon’s song Imagine in that they are asking the world to stop believing justifications for war, political domination and one religion being superior to another. These are four highly thoughtful, educated perfectionist musical artists with a very serious warning to the world. ❤ Keep going! With Queen there is such variety!
