I'm a retired journalist, and so, I always worked as if I was recording history...and I was. Now I'm just some old guy cussing the TV when their version of how to present the news disgusts me. One bit of real Philly news I'd loved to have reported is the Stanging O for Trea Turner last season (2023), and that radio jerk still taking credit for your good work. Thanks again for that. It made my 2023 season, so thanks for that. In 1950, not long after my first birthday, my dad went to the tra8n station to meet the victorious Whiz Kids retunring from Brooklyn having beaten that great Dodger team to clinch. Dad took me to many a game up in North Philly at Connie Mack Stadium. Then, after the Vet was built, I was able to take my Dad to games there, and I went to the same ticket guy every time. The first seats he handed me were nosebleed seats, but when I said my dad blah blah blah, he handed me two tickets right behind home plate. We sat right behind the guys who were scouting for the Dodgers. Dad pointed out the guy's giant World Series ring. That ticket guy, after that, never gave me seats anywhere else. The Phills, until about that time, never climbed out of ninth place in a 9-team league. I was thrilled to have been able to get for my Dad great seats to see a winning team. In 1980, we went to every home playoff game. So thanks for the Trea O, and for all you do. Keep up the food phight!
