  • This year has been a boomer for grass. We were able to keep our sheep and cattle on the upper half of the property during late spring early summer. So much cheaper than buying hay.

    New Order Amish they have it figured just right the happy medium between doing it the hard way and letting the machinery do the work😅

    I live in the country & I always see the bales in the field, however, I’ve never seen it harvested. It was interesting to see. Thank you!😊

    since when have they started using equipment like that to hay ? Around here it's horse and cycle and hay wagon , no tractors or bailers ?

      Hi! Thanks for commenting. There are different orders of Amish. The ones you are talking about are the Swartzentrooper Amish. They are the ultra conservative sect. Then there are more “liberal” sects of Amish like the ones that hayed for us. I didn’t know that either until I moved out here and interacted with them at auctions. Out here most of the Amish communities are the ones you are thinking about.
