Clarksville and Hendersonville were the hardest hit areas but preliminary estimates is that Hendersonville was a High end EF2 with Clarksville being a high end EF3 borderline EF4
We need to start building homes better like we used to. A two story house shouldn’t be basically slabbed by a EF3 tornado. A EF3 tornado hit my city in 2019 and these older one story homes still had a couple interior walls left. It was 140mph and this Clarksville tornado was 150mph so really no difference in strength.
I live in New mexico where I feel they grow these storms. We always get weird weather that travels over to the Midwest and south turning into chaos. I'm watching the skies being sprayed today and a storm is on the forecast for Wednesday. Then watch, Tennessee or somewhere will be hit again by the end of the week. People think I'm crazy but I've been watching weather since I was little, I wanted to be a meteorologist.
100% this happened almost 2 years ago to the day of the bad storms right by in Kentucky. The have been messing with the weather for years. For people that don't believe look up operation Popeye. This was during the Vietnam war. Imagine what "they" are capable of doing now.

Taking this into a purely scientific review of the footage, these houses in question look to have been built with lower quality standards than in other states. This is why I'm a huge proponent for securing/tying down roofs and using higher quality materials as part of any build. I know an EF3-4 is going to level with a direct hit, but the likelihood of a total loss is lessened..

EF5, does catastrophic damage to even the very best built structures made of reinforced steel and concrete. If there's ever an EF6, nothing will survive that.

How a structure is made matters, and the materials as well. It takes time to learn how to build something without it looking like a pile of garbage. Going underground while a Tornado forms then hits should be the safest place to be, and if nothing gets damaged then the builders should be proud of themselves! Safely leaving before a Tornado forms then hits the ground should be possible to do.
