Will you confirm or deny the rumors that you have already purchased a cat and are hiding it from us? Okay, tone of this is a bit more serious so I’m glad I’m commenting something I’m so serious about.
You create some of the most consistently entertaining content not just in this community, but on this platform. I’m excited to see how things go from here for you, even if your wife does steal the channel. Now I just need to get caught up in Wheel of Time, so I can watch all of the skits…
Hey Dude, just wanted to say I'm glad I found you through Daniel Greene. Your channel is hilarious and I think it's only a matter time before your channel blows up. Happy Anniversary and thanks for all the hard work and entertainment!
Happy anniversary! Thank you for your content! It is hilarious and deep at the same time. You are a fantastic booktuber, especially for interacting with us in the comment section. The replies are always funny in a good way
Found your channel through your cosmere related videos. Loved most of the stuff you've done so far, both goofy and serious videos. Keep on carrying... things.
Don't feel like a fraud. You're good at this. You have a unique voice in a medium that seems to relish trying to emulate whatever the most popular thing is and the only time you do that is when you are making fun of it. Not to say I wouldn't mind if you did a top 10 list or book recommendation video every once in awhile. Also thank you for not begging me to smash like buttons or follow you on 10 different social medias.
You know how you sometimes come across a small channel and just hope and pray that it really takes off and becomes something big? This is one of those. I discovered your Gunslinger skit on Reddit and have loved your channel ever since. Keep on doing what you're doing, because it is seriously damn good.
Really appreciate this advice and I'm glad to see you're still conscious of doing what you want vs. what you think we want. This will be the last time I sincerely comment. Good day.
Man, your videos are often the highlight of my day! I'm a fellow Sanderson fan and I'm also currently reading The Wheel of Time (thanks for that recommendation), but it's your genuine personality and energy that keeps me coming back
Besides being a great booktuber and comedian, you also are incredible agile. Everytime you finish a sentence, you change positions at an incredible fast speed. Remarkable!
You’re one of my favorite channels to discover in a long time. Thanks for all the entertainment and for being the only one brave enough to share the forbidden Narnia and Cosmere reading orders.
To be honest, I found your channel coz of the meme videos first but I started reading more again since last year (coz unemployed new grad problems amirite) and I’m so glad that you have such a great amount of videos for me to watch to get book recommendations and analysis etc. It’s great to have someone to fill me in as I’m a newbie book reader. So keep it up and take care!!!
Sometimes videos do be going good out of nowhere, that's just facts. On a serious note, I have been a man carrying stan for the better part of that year. I have seen you grow and I am so incredibly proud man. Every time I see one of your videos "go good" or the amazing collabs with absolute units of the community I whisper to myself *you fucking go Jake, devour the whole of booktube* Here's to another amazing year mate🍻
You definitely add value to booktube, I can't quite describe it but it makes me watch every video and read almost every book mentioned (still haven't started on WoT)
This is great, and I feel like it's more of a "How to survive being a Content Creator" not just Booktube. Congrats on 1 year and keep making great stuff man!
Happy One-Year Survival Anniversary!! Love your channel and enjoy supporting you. :) I tried Booktube, and then realized after about a year of struggling, that my brain shuts down in front of a camera and I get super stressed trying to film myself talking. Now, I just like making videos for the aesthetics of it (music/fonts/graphics), and only when I feel like it--my last video was in February, lol!!
Thank you so much for your dedication over the past year. Many times your videos have quite literally made my day, here’s to many more amazing videos in the future!
Congratulations on your one-year BookTube anniversary!! I love your skits. I haven't been always commenting because I feel everyone else's comments are more clever and funny than mine. You deserve lots of subscribers, I'm glad many people have found your channel. It's true, the first 100 took a long time for my channel too. I think the algorithm is more likely to show channels to people when the channel has more subscribers (ie. over 1K). Great video with some good advice!
Hey man this is really inspiring to me! I can tell you’re being honest, and I think that helps a lot. You put my thoughts so perfectly into words about this. I thought I was the weird one when I made videos and as you said it wasn’t “fun” a lot of the times. But at the end of the day, when a video is finished I feel really satisfied about it. This video really inspired me to keep going! I was also close to stressing myself out about reading recently so your words really helped me out here dude. Thanks for making this video, congrats on one year, and keep up the hilariously dumb content my man!
A sincere comment for a sincere post! Congratulations! Your videos already have such a distinct style which I think is impressive for having only been on here a year! Looking forward to the future of MCT!
Congrats on one year! Definitely enough time for you to become one of my favorite booktubers on here. I love your mix of serious content and funny skits.
I feel you. It's not easy making videos consistently and I think the hardest part is figuring out what your channel will be and how it stands out in a sea of people making videos. I made videos for a time where I thought I knew what I wanted to do but then to fall out of it and maybe rethink everything and might want to try again. But it's a struggle for sure and if you have the time, energy and dedication, it'll pay off. My subscribers were only from the people who saw my videos that I was making in 2017. But I was happy making the videos and it was fun to do on my time off of work, even if I sacrificed my sleep schedule to make a dumb meme.
I definitely think that a sense of humor can define a content creator. Not everyone has to be funny to discuss books, but you got a knack for making your audience laugh, and it doesn't feel forced. You got a sometimes dry, almost sarcastic, sometimes Ben Stiller sort of comedic touch
You were definitely a big influence on me starting this channel a bit over a month ago and I relate a lot to caring how you are perceived especially at these lower view counts. I've thought of skits like the ones you do but haven't had the courage to make them.
You're my favourite booktuber, mostly because you're so down to earth. You aren't super loud and hyper and you always have interesting takes on things I'm interested in. Looking into reading the dark tower after your book reviews
i just discovered you're channel recently and i have to say happy so far one of the better channels in RUclips, also really sorry for my bad English i am from a different country.
I completely agree about finding what you want to make. I can certainly say I started in the mind of making structured discussion videos and reviews. I then quickly realised I like being stupid, I've always been stupid so why pretend to be smart 😂 your sharing of my first skit completely changed the outlook on the videos I make and what I enjoy doing and I probably would've stopped making videos by now if it wasn't for that 💚
Congrats, Man. It's a pleasure to follow you and witness how your channel evolves with each video, stumbling in the dark mass of RUclips, yet managing to stay honest in your content whatever the tone and however long the vids may be. Every time it's a delight, a fart of fresh air one might say.
Jake, your personality is the main character you love, regardless of how good or bad the movie is. Whether it is the skits, the book videos, the movie reviews, or videos like these, they are all so enjoyable. The first video I saw from you was "basically Netflix's business model" and it made laugh so many times haha. I have now watched over at least 100 of your videos and cannot get over how amazing your channel is. It is just sustained quality over a long period of time. You truly are the man, carrying the thing. Thank you for all of the time you have put in over the years, I appreciate it \(^__^)/
this is such a genuinely sweet comment to receive - thanks so much for this, and thanks for watching over the (i can't believe it's been this long) years
Responding to sincerity with sincerity, I really love your channel and the community that has sprung up around it. Seeing that you've posted a new skit makes my day, and because of the discord server I have been inspired to start writing again and found lots of new people to rant about WoT with, both of which are really great. Keep on with it!
Thanks for this. I am struggling to find my niche and to maintain consistency. I really appreciate your getting real for a second. But please don't stay real for too long. My mental wellbeing hangs in the balance. No pressure.

YES - don't stress about reading!!!! Make sure you don't ruin your own reading enjoyment, your hobby. I just had someone email me about starting a channel and asking for advice, I need to go send her this link. LOL
Since I started watching the brandon interviews I always think you're not serious and think you're sarcastic. And it makes every video funny. I love that and because the more serious you are the better the video for me, since you say nice things and it sounds to me like you make fun of everything. ^^
Congrats on one year! 🍻Love your channel; hilarious and smart and never fails to brighten my day. Thanks for consistently putting out such great content (even when it means pulling an all-nighter).
The day I found this channel was AMAZING, your sitcoms and content are awesome, you're going to grow even if you don't get a cat to entertain the audience dude. Hahaha.
Damn man I absolutely love your channel, I'm so happy for you and I wish I would've found you sooner. Sorry I don't write enough funny jokes though I'll have to work on that lol
I just started my channel this past weekend, and I absolutely feel that about nobody caring about what I have to say. But, I also know it's a slow process to grow an audience, and that's fine. As always, thanks for sharing your insights!
I used to think, in an admittedly shallow way, that RUclips was dead, most of the people here were people full of themselves and just far above us in every way, and it was hopeless to see a genuine big youtuber that never fails to know when to be serious or goofy. But through a string of channels that began with Value Select and eventually ended with yours, I now see I was just being really lazy and dismissive. I think I wanted to believe this place was broken and based on luck only (though it is a factor), just so I could convince myself to never try here, or elsewhere. But, seeing channels like yours inspires me to see what could happen if I really, *really* committed myself to a passion to see where it could take me. I know that may sound a bit nonsensical, thankfully I'm not interviewing you, but what I mean is, I feel a real life and passion behind your eyes, and it pushes me to do better, and think better. Thanks.
I love that your content is a mix of the occasional genuine thoughts and feelings on books and just complete nonsense videos. Keeps things fun and it helps you stand out of the crowd. Happy to be along for the ride. More Nadia pls. 🤨🤗
I'm reading On Heroes and Tombs by Ernesto Sabato, amazing novel about loneliness, madness and existence, even love. I highly recommended. What are you people reading?
