Got one of these a month ago. It is now my EDC gun, and CC as well. So light and easy to conceal. Long time 22wmr fan here for all the regular reasons. I find this little revolver to be an accurate and fun tool out at the range. An odd feature at the base of the grip, next to the serial number is a small detent, or groove, with a cross bar. This is to facilitate a lanyard! What an interesting detail. Recognizing how small and light this weapon is, someone in the design team thought to include this feature so you might not lose it overboard if you have it attached to your person in some fashion with a cord. As a long time helicopter crewman, I totally APPRECIATE this rare design feature. Cheers!

I have one of the hammerless models like that. Awfully handy and it shoots better than it should. Bill Jordan wrote about what a good idea this would be in his great book “No Second Place Winner “
Everyone says .22 won't be good for protection. Well Its not a BB gun y'all. It for shure stops a threat. Its also forgiving and a great starter gun for a new shooter and great for an experienced shooter. Revolvers are very reliable and very robust. Ammo is the most affordable if it's available? Every shooter is bound to enjoy one.

Finally got mine to the range yesterday and it had 96% failure to fire with with Hornady V-Max, Critical Defense and Speed Gold Dot. But S&W sent out a return label right away so we’ll see how and if they’re able to fix it. At the moment I have zero confidence carrying it.

Great review Boge. One thing I noticed, with that recessed barrel shroud, when that gun is pointed at you it appears to be a much larger caliber than what it is. That might be an additional deterrent for the bad guys to cease and desist.

A "Kit Gun" refers to a small, lightweight handgun, well-suited for small-game hunting, plinking, vermin control, or even self-defense in a pinch. The name refers to their utility as an essential part of a hunting / fishing "kit".
Huge coincidence ... I just got to shoot mine for the 1st time this weekend. Brought it home and cleaned afterwards and now my trigger is getting stuck! I guess I'll have to send it back to Smith and Wesson ...so annoying!!!!!!!
I used to carry in the front pocket, but the gurus at Gunsite showed me the advantages of carrying in the back pocket: namely, that a front-pocket draw is much slower and more difficult than a rear-pocket draw when seated, and even when standing the rear-pocket draw is faster. I carry in my rear pocket all the time, and it is not at all uncomfortable when using a pocket holster, which also breaks-up the outline of the gun in the pocket and creates a consistent presentation. I am not even aware that there is a pistol in my rear pocket. Give it a try.

Yup. I really think the ultralight revolvers from S&W are, for the most part, meant to be carried a lot and shot when necessary. They’re not constant shooters, even the aluminum frame .38’s. Which simply isn’t my style, I like regular practice with my carry piece.
I am sorry but even suggesting shooting with ammunition for which the firearm is not chambered for is reckless. It is bad enough that we are fighting against people that want to strip away our 2A. To show them blatant disregard for safety gives them fuel. You should be proud of yourself!
I clearly state that such is not recommended, but I have been doing it for 40 years without incident. I do many things that are not Government-approved, and are not good for me; I eat too much, I smoke cigars, and sometimes i drive too fast.
@@Gunblastdotcom That was a weak response. You would not be welcomed to shoot at my range using wrong ammo. I wouldn’t care if you drove fast or eat to excess!
@@Gunblastdotcom When I was a young police officer, my department issued revolvers and we were required to carry them with a spurred hammer. The SW frames like these are all the same size , they just use different barrels inside the sleeve . Ingenious way to build guns
