  • The Osireion at Abydos in Egypt was built by the Pharaoh Seti I to serve as a symbolic resting place for Osiris, the ancient Egyptian god of the dead. It is a subterranean complex built from monumental masonry, and was originally accessed by a descending tunnel decorated in wall reliefs depicting judgment scenes that reflect man’s progress from this world to the next.
Since 2023, the American Research Center in Egypt has been working with the World Monuments Fund (WMF) and the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities (MoTA) to conserve this monument and its immediate surroundings. This video fly-through is the result of high-definition 3D scanning carried out in March 2023 by CPT Studio Roma, as part of the comprehensive condition mapping of the site.
