Ah Ken, try a MIG 4, first flown in 1940 with over 3500 airframes built and flown in combat. It boasted an American made Allison engine or a Soviet copy. It was produced for high altitude combat against German bombers. The surviving War2 airframes were given to Soviet allies like Red China & North Korea. So in this movie, this MIG 4 is doing the job it was intended to do.
The epitome of a low budget B movie. You take a whole bunch of random stock film from actual combat missions, you write a story line around them, get a bunch of actors to play cliche roles, (the old man, the drunk, the coward, etc.) and a white girl and kid to pretend they are Koreans. Yup, these are the old B movies we would get on late, late, late night TV.
MIG 15 at 55.35, otherwise Sabres, Panthers and even a Zero l thing, amongst others.Took a while to get going, but not a bad film, although wildly inaccurate on attacking aircraft......
John Ireland had a varied career. He was in "All the Kings Men". 20 years later he was the sheriff in "Satan's Cheerleaders" (1977). He reminds me of Rip Torn.
And every President and taxpayer since who is supporting and paying for the military base there through deficit spending while we get bad trade deals with South Korea
I used to think there was no such thing as a bad submarine or bomber movie. Then I saw U-571 and this piece of crap. It should have been called “Peyton Place in the Air”.
The late great Babyface Chet Baker playing his trumpet unbelievable😊
why? wasn't even decent music...what was the point?
@@kwakagreg thats a matter of opinion. dude was one the best trumpet players ever
Very good movie, thanks for posting it😊
Never saw this one before, pretty good!
The "migs" started out as f9f panthers then turned into f-86s , then into prop planes......very inaccurate.
I noted that as well, but also noted a B29 in pursuit of both prop planes & mig jets. Real war footage, but not of a B29 in combat.
Nice seeing actors and actresses, in different roles.
Beaver and Wally's dad is in this. He is the dude with the bottle of moonshine at the start.
William Schallert, the radar operator, he played Patty Duke's father on the Patty Duke Show.
Can't believe I didn't notice that! Thanks.
@@oneastrails Well, he had a good long career. I’m sure glad he survived the war!
An excellent technical movie after they enter the bomber. I've never seen the inside of one in a war mission type of movie.
"Now get some rest." I don't think so.
You should also mention in the write up that William Schallert, the radar operator, played Patty Duke's father on the TV sitcom Patty Duke Show.
Migs do not have props.
How did they re-start the failed number 4 engine?

Re you sure?
444 MiGhTs had both a white n black cloud thunder formation until si SI
SYLVESTER....or61ISRAEL546
The mig-1 does ,,check it history
So THAT'S what Wally and Beaver's dad does at the office........
The pilot (John Ireland), co-pilot (Bill Williams) and crew of a bomber try to hit a Korean bridge in bad weather.
Initial release: December 1955
got to be the slowest war mvie ever made. don't know if its the worst movie i've ever watched but it comes close.
.
I had a feeling Ole ward was a drinker.
Yeah, Ward told the Beaver that he served with the Navy Sea Bees. Now we know the truth ! Lol
When he got drunk, he was really "hard on the beaver" according to Barbara Billingsley.
😬😆
Don’t worry just leave it to Beaver .
At 8:00 into this I fell asleep.

Very strange looking fighter planes.

The writer couldn't have made a more depressing movie or the characters more depressed. This movie needs Prozac.
John Ireland had a varied career. He was in "All the Kings Men". 20 years later he was the sheriff in "Satan's Cheerleaders" (1977). He reminds me of Rip Torn.
I like these old school movies so much better but that wrestling fight is not realistic men don’t wrestle, they fist fight!!
29:10 Its a young June Cleaver.😜
The beginning of the movie places this time in 1955, the Korean war was over in 1952.
Flight engineers aren’t officers but enlisted.
They just don't make movies like this anymore.
thank goodness
I suppose in those days your average US person hadn't seen a Korean and had no idea what they looked like.
Bombing mission during the Korean War in 1955 , , ??????
Yes. During one of such missions, an US B-29 was shoot down by a North Korean MiG-15. But this all before 1953.
The fake Asian kid looks like he is from another planet.
They are not Migs, they are American Furies,Sabres and so on.
B-29 or B-50?
B-29, the USAF was too scared of losing one of their "new" bombers to some Migs.
KOREA WARS FORGOTTEN WARS 1950-1953 NEVER FORGET
Movie opens with a couple of fake Pretendanese gathering laundry and segways to a bully Ward Cleaver. How can you possibly go wrong.
Great movie. Is she Korean
She is not Asian at all. Marla English is her name, they just got her made up to look vaguely Asian. She should be Japanese as they are on Okinawa.
Korean like a T-bone steak.
Another war movie where no one has a military haircut. And no Korean actor's.
Images of B-29 are from a USAAF period.
B29 was retired in 1960
Nice.
think they got their planes mixed up
This movie was so bad I just had to keep watching it! Spoiler alert: No wonder the actor jumped out, even he thought it was crap!!
The Korean War.. brought to you by Harry Truman...
All wars in that century were by the democrats. Today they have a police action propaganda war on its citizens.
Horseshit. Best prez ever, and the best thing he did was fire MacArthur for being a prick.
And every President and taxpayer since who is supporting and paying for the military base there through deficit spending while we get bad trade deals with South Korea
@@ocsugar Same with Germany throughout the cold war. And Gitmo. Etc. It's the price of being the world's policeman.
hardly any standard operating procedures on the plane. okay plot
👍
It’s ok movie
A war movie or cheap explatation attack on wemom that You Tuba
Amazing crap.

Kind of a cheapie.
This movie really stinks.
I never could stand it when Hollywood fakes someone playing an instrument. The actor always stinks faking it.
That's Chet Baker and he is playing.
@thetristancode6489 They killed Chet! They can't do that, he's got a gig with bird coming up!
