Thank you so much for the mention. I appreciate it . I enjoyed seeing your makes. I really like the Ines shirt. And, of course, the pajamas are very nice. It's great that you found the perfect PJ pattern. Frank is so adorable. ❤❤❤
I agree, woven makes are much more satisfying. That shirt you made looks really nice and your pj's look lovely too. What a fabulous group of ladies your sewing friends are!! Winner with all those gorgeous fabrics. Re trousers, I've made 3 pairs of landers in the past in linen and recently made the s.o.i ultimate trousers in stretch linen viscose for spring. They are smart or casual depending on the fabric choice.
Lovely makes as normal Ruth I’m sure you’ll have no problems with the Ilford I’m so glad we’re making it together, Frank looked like he was having fun. Must say tulips 🌷 were still looking good 🥰💕💕💕
The tulips are doing a super job Heather! Thank you so much again, they are actually some of my favourite cut flowers to have in the house 🥰 And yes it's going to be loads of fun to make up the Ilford together xx
I am just trying to decide on some pants as well. I absolutely love the pomonas. The fit is so cute. Ive made them with 7 oz linen and also linen noil. Super cute, nice enough for wearing out to dinner but comfy enough for all day! The 2 inch elastic waistband sits so nicely without shifting or rolling.
Thank you for the tip, I think i'll try these first as I do have the pdf ready and waiting. I have also seen the Classic Pants by The Sewing Revival. They look nice and chic and have a little comfy elastic band at the back 🤔
Thanks so much Ruth for mentioning Textile Gardens. I bought buttons from them years ago and wanted to buy some more but had completely forgotten their name!

But when I lI'm so glad you are having successes. I've been a little frustrated because I felt like what I made was not pretty. But when I look at it, it is an improvement.😅
Hi Zelda, I'm so sorry to hear your feeling frustrated. I can definitely relate to that. Sometimes we just need to take a little pause and come back with fresh eyes and things will improve. Small steps still get us to the finish line 🥰 xx
Love love the Ines shirt!! 😊. Also the Ilford jacket is going to be stunning in that MM fabric, I would absolutely definitely toile it first though!! I would have loved to join you with the Ilford make but have too much in the queue before that one!! Really looking forward to watching all your progress 🥰
Lovely makes Ruth, I've just finished making the True Bias Blair skirt for the second time, love that pattern. Have a Love Notions Rhapsody cut out for my next project.
Thank you for putting it on the swaps table 🥰 Someone suggested a midi dress in that with a long cardi in the knit from Heather, I think that's going to be a perfect Spring outfit xx
Pomona pants all the way hun… they are my absolute favourite and can be made in a range of fabrics from chambray, linen, Tencel and viscose! You can also size down and do them in a jersey x
I should probably give these a go, I have them printed on PDF already and I know how much you love them. Might rustle up a quick test pair this week xx
I don’t know if you have tried the Lander pants by True Bias they are a brilliant fit, only pair of trousers I didn’t have to alter. I have just made the shorts version for my holiday , I did lengthen them by 10/cm otherwise perfect x
Hi Deborah, I have seen the pattern but not tried them. I very much like the look of them though, especially the button fly. Thank you so much for the tip 🥰
Lovely Video Ruth. I have had some of that lovely Eglantine et Zoe fabric in my stash since 2020, I have 1.5 metres and have no idea what to make with it, so I am delighted you have linked it to Minerva and will buy another metre, giving me a bit more scope. A skirt is a brilliant idea but now I'm wondering if it might be suitable for a jumpsuit. I also have 2 metres of the red colourway. I have to admit to being a bit precious about these beautiful fabrics - they need to be worn not Stored. Thank you for the push!! Looking forward to seeing what you make with it.
Hi Margaret 🥰 I think you could definitely make a jumpsuit with that fabric, it's quite a nice weight isn't it, not too light not too heavy. And yes, we absolutely need to make these fabrics up, they need their moment in the sun. I'd love to know what you decide xx
@@SeamStressedRuth Well Ruth, I've ordered another 1.5 metres of the fabric, now need to find the right pattern ! I've ordered the Megan Nielson Durban jumpsuit pattern. I quite like the front fastening and the option for different leg widths, plus plenty of options for necklines and sleeves.
Those fabrics you got on the swap table go so well together! I’m picturing a midi dress and jumper or cardigan to match 🥰 I’d love to come to the Staffordshire social one day. Where do you find out the dates?
Oh that's a brilliant idea Kate, thank you so much! I have a ton of cute spring dress patterns running through my mind now 🥰 It would be lovely to see you at the social some time, they are run by Sally who is the Staffordshire Sewist on here and on Instagram xx
Just making my Paper Theory Agnes pjs and I think I might wear the shorts out in the summer. I love my free range slacks, I think they are a brilliant pattern. Why don’t you size down? I have worn mine to death, they are so comfortable! Love your vlog!
Hi Mary 🥰 You are right, I really should make the effort and resize the Free Range Slacks. I think I fell out of love after they didn't work out but enough time has passed now. Thank you for the nudge xx
Hi Ruth your pattern matching looks amazing. On the comfy smart trousers I’m currently loving the Eleanor Jeggings from Jali Patterns. You can use stretch woven fabrics and they have an elasticated waist. Xx
Love the fabrics you purchase, colors and prints. It’s so satisfying to have projects turn out just as they should. Instead of a trouser pattern, may I suggest a trouser fabric? If you can find any stretch Bengaline, I think it would suit any smart or smart-ish trouser pattern. It’s a woven with 20-30% stretch and it holds its shape well. Incredibly comfortable. I haven’t seen any of you lovely UK ladies mention it but I hope it’s available to try. Good luck with the Ilford. I have it but haven’t tackled it yet.
Hi Brenda, that's a brilliant suggestion! I don't see that type of fabric mentioned all that much so I will do some investigating. Thank you so much for the tip 🥰
How did you find the sizing on the sabina skirt, there seems to be a huge discrepancy between the body measurements and finished garments, did you size down?
Hiya Wendy 🥰 Good question, I made it such a long time ago I actually can't remember. Looking at the pattern, I have it cut at a size 12, I was probably larger than that when I made it so yes I think I must have sized down. Sorry that's not an exact answer xx
I love hearing your precious Frank snoring 😂

Hi Cynthia 🥰 you are very welcome. I can highly recommend the shirt pattern it's such a beautiful shape x
Thank you for the mention. ❤ I had told Sally I had given it to you and she was fine about it. I love your pattern matching xx
Oh that's a relief Jenny, I was thinking as I was taking "should I be telling everyone this" lol xx
