great video. The SL-1000R Turntable is a work of art
Nice review you got there!
Turntable doesn’t get cooler than this 😎
Great insight into a real reference product! Can I ask if those are the accurate number of reps needed to be able to lift this? I have a funny feeling I may have to one day..
Lovely bit of kit
quality turntable for when you're just starting out!
Just starting out???? It's 20K 30K with a decent cartridge, You must have something incredible? Do tell. Thanks,
Amazing!
I'd have that over the top end LP12!
Stunning, I want one.
Me too
Me 3... 😅
Take that tonearm to the next level with the KAB TD-1000 Fluid Damping System. Shameless plug, I know, but it was the first mod we put on the original 1200 back in 2000 and it lead to a revolution and over 18 years later leads the new revolution of SL-1200's. It's a great time for vinyl.
Will you send me one to try?
@Kevin at KAB knows what he is talking about! THE man to talk to - anything regarding Technics turntables!
@@steverothermel2516 Yet no offer of a unit to try...
Does it play 78 RPM record with the same needle? How is the output? Since 78s are long out of production, I wonder why this model still has that facility.
Had this for over a year. What would you recommend as an upgrade? Wilson/ Dan Dagastoino Momentum AND ARC REF PHONO STGE. Thanks.
I go and buy one :-)
I’m so jealous 😥
I guess half the price is just the packaging alone!
But it also doubles up as a free coffee table
I will have two please. Any transit screws to remove ?
None at all. If you want two you will be waiting about 6 months because they are selling so many :)
Would it be possible to fit a Well Tempered Symmetrex LTD tonearm?
Hmmm good question. It would be best to speak to Iain@hificorner.co.uk about this, he can advise on the arm boards available
Would it be possible that the arm is xcellent
Pity about the detachable headshell which is a weakness regarding rigidity.
I agree to an extent. But remember the arm can be changed and extra arm boards are available if you want to run 2 or 3 different arms. At this level that's a necessity.
In that case I would like to see a matching silver edition of an SME V or maybe a Rega RP2000 with Apheta 2 on this thing.
Fixed headshells are only important if you are using a cartridge with a compliance of less than 20 CU @ 10hz. But if your doing that, your just destroying your records anyway.
Most if not all, all top quality arms use one piece tubes with fixed headshells. Otherwise you're compromising rigidity. What's the point of having a structural weakness at such a critical point just for convenience.
@@Fontsman it's because 98% of the time you cannot hear the difference. Diminishing returns
Ok, è bello, vale quanto costa?
15-18 Mila euro. In ogni caso sono numerati e fatti a mano, un qualcosa per pochi e che pochissimi possono apprezzare
How does the Technics compare to the Naim Solstice?
We have both on demo, best come and listen for yourself :) Very different though!
@@hi-ficorner I live in Seattle!
Nice video but there was no review?
Was a bit tired from the lifting
@@hi-ficorner Do you also stock the SL-1200G?
Because it would be nice to have a comparison test, since the 1000R is based on the 1200G design.
@@QoraxAudio We do indeed, you are more than welcome to come and have a listen
Right, that's it! I am going to sell my daughter!
Is it 240v?
It is indeed
How much does this turntable cost ?
It's £13,999 in the UK - and worth every penny :)
Would u sell me the box? Lol its the coolest box I ever seen
4:34 “because the platter is too heavy, you need to be very careful when sitting onto turntable” 4:42 scraaaatch. Floor model, put it on a scratch and dent sale. I’m on my way.
Why does such an expensive turntable NOT have hinges
You would need to bore holes into the back plate, that would be the compromise. But I get your point it would perhaps be nice!
prince hairy has a " big box ".... closet bummer.....
I want one
How much ?
£14,000.. per unit
Depends when you are buying as the price is about to go up! Best contact us on 0131 556 7901

@@pascalkrzeminski7341 the UK retail is £13,999 - so about €16,500 - but we also offer packages with head-shells and cartridges.More information can be found here - www.hificorner.co.uk/blog/category/technics-news
Ok the turntable looks STUNNING! but the price tag is absolutely HORRENDOUS!!!! £14,000 I mean what the hell is going on with that??
They're unjustly robbing people.
@@bkkersey93 Yes that's EXACTLY! what they are doing
@claude No it is not, to be honest even if I had the money to burn I would not pay it out of principal
@@bkkersey93 There are crappy turntables that are way overpriced. This one is engineered and crafted to its finest. Worth every penny. Go get a crossley or victrola if you want it for cheap.
It puts to shame so many audiophile turntables, and at a much lower price.
I need to check my lottery numbers first, and the rest will be history.....
😊
15,0000 euro's . LOL
$20000
Tonearm has plastic pivot. The turntable is just ok. Not special.
People who put so much metal into this thing know where to use plastic and where to use metal. Slapping metal onto everything doesn't make something great.
@@TechCrazy
Boy, you just have to defend a plastic part because it’s on a Technics?
No real tone arms have plastic major parts. See: Reality
@@keithb6717 Naim Aeros have clear plastic headshell. I bet u wouldn't notice it if the Technics was a British tt
@@matthewtaylor7355
No such thing. Perhaps you mean the Aro.
I’ve seen them. Totally lame. A monetary loss for Naim. Only 1200 (irony?) produced. People didn’t want to pay $$$ for plastic and be stuck with something with limited cartridge choices.
I’m sorry I questioned your Technics religious beliefs.
Lemme guess: you own a Marantz or a Pioneer receiver.... ha ha ha
@@matthewtaylor7355
Unimpressed by rega as well but I do make a lot of money selling rega parts. Wonderfully overpriced works great for me as a parts/service dealer.
Sorry but that is an ugly turntable
It's not meant to be ostentatious, it's meant to be accurate and sturdy.
Buy a 1200GLD or VPI Prime instead, if you want bling bling.
Its supposed to be better and heavier not cuter. At least it costs as much as a brand new car. LoL
