    1. grease in the drag system (ESPECIALLY TEFLON WASHERS) will cause the drag washers to slip
    2. grease on the spool will cause line to slip around the spool
    A light oil or WD40 will suffice to water treat and protect the spool, and NEVER should grease be used on the drag system unless it is a wet system. Teflon washers (and all 704's, in fact) are dry systems.

      are the 706z's a dry system as well?

      The 706z comes stock with the HT-100 washers, which are semi-wet systems. This means they can be dry or wet, depending on your willingness to sacrifice max drag for smoothness. The same goes for carbon-tex.

      Grease in between her legs lets it slip in the front or the back or both.
