I am disabled myself and I present panels on fursuiting with a disability. I have had people that are blind, deaf, mobility impaired (I am an amputee), autistic, and lots of other medical issues attend. I try to help anyone that wants to fursuit get out and do it, regardless of their challenges. I'm somewhere in the middle of this video, a white wolf with monk robes and a selfie stick.
It is really cute but the kid will grow out of the suit soon

@@jouga In my honest opinion, it's only a bad idea if they're commissioning someone to make a full suit at such a young age, just because they grow out of it so quickly. But for all we know, they could've made it or had a family member make it. (Also, love your animations)

I was a furry. I was bullied out of the fandom too. I was hated on and driven out. I only came to AnthroCon in 2013 and i wished i came back to AnthroCon. Why does this fandom have to be so damn toxic? Why can't we all try to get on? Why some furs have to be assholes? No one can answer these questions or solve these problems within the Furry Fandom, but nothing is impossible.

I feel like it’s just a nice sign of effort and hard work. It takes a lot to make these suits. I’m working on my first right now. There’s just something really nice about seeing people get into making the suits themselves.
I understand young kids who make their own suits probably aren't the greatest fursuit makers (as it's likely their first suit they've made) and can't afford to buy them. However, I'm shocked at the amount of kids who are wearing t-shirts or shorts in a partial. Covering the skin with long pants and a long shirt makes the costume as a whole look 100% better in my opinion and just seems kinda lazy since it's so easy to do
Kendall Bergstrom they’re young. Cut them some slack. They don’t necessarily understand that. It’s not that big of a deal. Besides, I don’t know if kids have quite as much tolerance of heat as adults do. Partials are already so hot, if a kid needs to cool down by only wearing a T-shirt and shorts, I say, let them do it and please don’t judge them for it. They’re kids man.

And temp in Pittsburgh that day was about the same as the surface of the sun. It was soooo sweaty doing that parade. A ton of fun, but hot and sticky. Many a 'musky husky' by the time it was over. We did the group photo just before that, so we had been standing around for well over an hour before the parade began.
Just a tip for new fursuiters: (I mostly see this happening with young furs) if you own a partial, wearing long sleeves and pants to cover all exposed skin makes the fursuit look 100% better and more complete. Obviously though, that's up to you if you want to do that. I'm really not a stickler when it comes to "breaking the magic", it's just a bit of advice and it's really easy to do.

Just look up how to turn dino mask into fursuit & watch the video that shows a dinosaur mask in the thumbnail. That should give you some ideas for a low-budget furry head mask. 😇

I get stupid looks, and I then have to go into a 20 min explanation between the difference of her, and that HBO documentary about furrys from the 90’s. It seems like that doc, is what people immediately think of when the word furry is said. These furrballs in this parade, my furry daughter and almost every person I’ve ever talked too, does not identify with that hbo stereotype. It’s like they’ve soiled the name, lol. I believe it’s the term furry! What if we leave the name furry to those hbo doc people and rename what 👆these people are. Anthrofurs? Furlays? Furrballs? Anything to distance the name from that doc! Furrys SHOULDNT be ashamed !! What would everyone think of changing or altering the furry name? If y’all think it’s a bad idea. That’s cool, it’s just a thought Any input would be amazing!
Yes, it sucks that people have a negative view of furries. Although fewer and fewer know about the CSI episode or exploitive 'documentaries' ...they just don't like anything different. I am twice the age of most furries and when I posted on FB pictures from the conventions I go to, I fully expected to get a rash of negativity from the people I know. But most either think it's cool, or just say nothing. I love seeing kids having fun and more and more have fursuits. I go out of my way to be nice to them and applaud mom and dad for being supportive.

Just a tip for new fursuiters: (I mostly see this happening with young furs) if you own a partial, wearing long sleeves and pants to cover all exposed skin makes the fursuit look 100% better and more complete. Obviously though, that's up to you if you want to do that. I'm really not a stickler when it comes to "breaking the magic", it's just a bit of advice and it's really easy to do.

•Rïpetide Öceans• You can try & get a decent mask from online, aswell as fabric you want to attempt at your 1st fursuit head. :) I'm gonna repaint a Jurassic World Mattel T. rex mask my dad ordered for me. Just look up how to turn dino mask into fursuit & watch the video that shows a dinosaur mask in the thumbnail. That should give you some ideas for a low-budget furry head mask. 😇

Every time I tell people she’s a furry. I get stupid looks, and I then have to go into a 20 min explanation between the difference of her, and that HBO documentary about furrys from the 90’s.
It seems like that doc, is what people immediately think of when the word furry is said.
These furrballs in this parade, my furry daughter and almost every person I’ve ever talked too, does not identify with that hbo stereotype. It’s like they’ve soiled the name, lol.
I believe it’s the term furry! What if we leave the name furry to those hbo doc people and rename what 👆these people are. Anthrofurs? Furlays? Furrballs? Anything to distance the name from that doc! Furrys SHOULDNT be ashamed !!
What would everyone think of changing or altering the furry name? If y’all think it’s a bad idea. That’s cool, it’s just a thought

Yes, it sucks that people have a negative view of furries. Although fewer and fewer know about the CSI episode or exploitive 'documentaries' ...they just don't like anything different.
I am twice the age of most furries and when I posted on FB pictures from the conventions I go to, I fully expected to get a rash of negativity from the people I know. But most either think it's cool, or just say nothing.
I love seeing kids having fun and more and more have fursuits. I go out of my way to be nice to them and applaud mom and dad for being supportive.
