can't wait for the calvin-shane-enemies-to-lovers plotline but you are also right that sams smile is PRECIOUS he is definitely my favourite out of the guys
Nice! A few tips here: 1. You can craft chests and other stuff in the menus. I don't remember what the button was so sorry if it's not very specific. 2. You don't need to eat! Eating restores energy or gives you other perks. Sleeping will recover your energy to the max (unless you sleep too late...). The food can come in handy if you need extra energy in a day, but otherwise just go to bed or do actions that don't require energy (like harvesting or talking to people!) 3. To elaborate on point one, PLEASE craft a chest. Don't go crazy selling stuff, since oftentimes you need them to craft something important! The safest bet right now is to sell your crops or fish, but even then keeping an extra copy just in case might prove to be more beneficial than you think!
RAHHHH STARDEW VALLEY!!!! will pop in to say a thing or two: 1. PLEASEEE check your tv every day! some useful stuff will pop up there (tmr's weather, general tips, cooking recipes, etc) 2. you only have to water your crops once a day! 3. get some wood and craft a chest! then you can go around and start collecting forageables! that's all! have fun playing sdv!!
I've been counting down the seconds since your community post waiting for this series to begin... I'm so ready:') A few tips I find helpful; defo go back into settings and put autorun on,helps movement just flow, and if you scroll down to "lock toolbar" it will stick it to the bottom of the screen, saves it flicking up and down! Finally, triangle brings up things you can craft... some helpful stuff in there you may want around the farm;) Also, the pause during Haleys dialogue was *LOUD* 😂 and you saying everyone was lovely had me cackling when I knew you were about to meet Shane... Thank you for this:') I don't know how long this series will go on for, but I'm going to devour every single second😂 and yes, best way to play is to just have fun!💕
I don't think I've ever watched a let's play of stardew valley. I've only ever played it myself. This will be super fun to see how different our playthroughs will be.
Some additional things to what others have said: Scythes don’t consume energy so it’s great to use on weeds instead of other tools Fishing is a great money maker while crops are still pricey and don’t worry it gets easier with practice and your fishing skill level for spring generally the lake up by Robin is great for money Also fun fact! Stardew is created by and updated by one guy called concerned ape. It also has a wonderful modding community that is encouraged by the creator. It honestly feels so wild to see the vanilla game after having mine modded for so long 49:02 Elliot my love 🥰 one of my favorite marriageable characters
This might be the first let's play where I actually have a hard time avoiding spoiling stuff lol. I have 440-ish hours in Stardew across 4 farms, and I've completed 100% twice (though that was before the 1.6 update so technically it's no longer 100%). Stardew Valley is probably my second favorite game of all time, it's so cozy and so freaking addictive. I'm super glad you're playing it!
Here are some tips! 1) Dont worry about monsters being disabled, you will encounter them eventually. 2) Energy is a resource, it limits how much you can do per day, food just lets you do some extra work if you really need to. 3) Give gifts to people! A great way to build relationships, but keep in mind some people like different things. Gifting on birthdays is also great! 4) Some crops are more worth it than others, some trial and error may be involved for you to discover which. Do note some crops only grow on certains parts of the year. 5) Take your time, animals are a big commitment so start raising them only once you feel you are ready and have the hang of the mechanics. 6) This game is big, without going into spoilers, there a lot of content in this game that isnt immediately accesible and requires certain things to be done before being unlocked. 7) Mine and Craft! There are many useful things you can craft to help you out, from chest to store your stuff, to items that can help with farming. And most importantly 8) Enable "Always show tool hit location" on settings, this is a must as sometimes using tools can feel random as to which tiles they target, this will save you from a lot of frustration.
Man I usually don't watch stardew videos (I'd rather play myself), but I have the biggest smile right now. Calvin's empathetic nature and calm disposition go so well with this game. I'm excited to watch you learn :)
i'm in the 'i didn't know i needed this' club! oh i'm so excited for you to experience this game, it's been SO long since i've seen anyone play it and i don't think i've seen anyone play it as blind as you are! stardew's one of those games i go back to time and time again and it never gets old (950 hours and counting! this was my most-played game before genshin, haha). the creator's still updating the game years after its release, the modding community is friendly and robust, and it's just... comforting, in its way. i'm glad you picked up on how it acknowledges the darkness of being lost in a world so run by corporations, where it's hard to find your 'off' switch and just take things day by day. that's not all it has, though, of course. i hope you find so much joy in this game as so many others have
Oh wow, Roamer is playing Stardew! I'm so happy! I'm sure your viewers will give you tons of tips (I haven't read all comments) but here are my two cents: The wooden box next to your house is Not storage. Anything you put there will be sold overnight (The screen at the end of the day will allow you to check how much each item earned you). Those last 75 gold came from you putting your Stone and your Fiber in that chest, so be careful! Once placed there, those items are gone for good. -You can earn money overnight with this, but you can also sell items in shops if you want the gold in that moment. Pierre will buy flowers, fruits and vegetables. Willy will buy your fish. -Your crafting tab allows you to make a chest 🙂 In case you run out of storage. You can also store your tools in chests, if you want to only chop wood, but don't feel like carrying your watering can with you all the time. -Ohhh, and you can move all objects inside your house, if you feel like giving it a personal touch. The items will go into your inventory, you may want to free a bit of space first
Just started watching so I don't know if you address how long you plan on playing this but I look forward to Stardew Valley part 1553. That video is going to be crazy.
omg!!!!!! oh i am SO excited for this. it’s gonna be such a nice chill time; it’s the sort of game where there’s no pressure for a bunch of commentary and you can just kick your feet back, talk about whatever etc :)
AAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!! LET'S GOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! VERY excited for this playthrough XD There is a LOT to discover in this game, but it's perfectly ok to take your time and explore. While there ARE consequences to certain things in this game, there is nothing so permanent as DEATH or anything, it's really a choose-your-own-stress-level kinda game lol. Feel free to poke around, it's one of the very few games that actually gives you THIS much freedom to do just that. Depending on your own personality and play style, there might be pain, and there might be regrets, but ultimately, your farm never dies and neither do you. Worse case scenario is simply that you start a new farm with a better understanding of what your personal goals are and what you want out of your game. And yeah the time just flies far, farrrrr away to the horizon when you're playing Stardew XD
Hiiii! One quick tip to make your life easier (that the game doesnt really explain)... You only use energy in this game when using a tool that isn't a scythe or a weapon. Plus, you just need to not use your energy past 0. Until then it's fine. (You can see how much you've got left by hovering the cursor over the bar) One last thing, there's a crafting menu! And that's all I'll say, have fun playing stardew! Loved watching you play!
Super excited for this! I love stardew so much and you're one of my favorite let's players on the platform, so I can't wait to see how this goes! Good luck and have fun!
Delighted that you’re playing this! A tiny tip since people are giving you them: Each person has a specific set of gifts (items) that they like or dislike. You can look them up if you’d like, or you can explore on your own!
You're gonna LOVE this game Calvin. This is making me want to start another save file. It looks like they added quite a bit since I last played. Thanks for the video!
Welcome aboard the Stardew Valley train!! This is one of those games that I come back to every now and then to play for a few months straight with little else in mind. :D It's charming, fun and has a surprisingly lot of depth to it. Good luck on your journey! P.S. Don't be ashamed to look stuff up from the Wiki if you ever get confused. I do that a lot, even to this day.
You're going to love this game! As a long-time fan it's fun watching someone become familiar with the mechanics, and I'm so looking forward to seeing your progress and how the rest of the experience goes! The Shane reaction was priceless 😂
Sooo excited for your playthrough!! I've had the game for years but only recently got back to playing again since my friends got the game, it's a nice coincidence to have you start playing now! ^^
What a nice surprise - this is one of my all time favorite games! It's not even a game to me anymore at this point, it's a Comforting Thing to do when I need to unwind.
Let's gooo! I usually just lurk here, but I just wanted to say I'm really excited to see your journey through Stardew Valley, Calvin. I'm sure there will be some moments where I'll lose my sanity a bit (like when you spent over half your savings for a plate of spaghetti xD), but it's all good. This game has lots of features and doesn't hold your hand much, so it takes a while to learn everything--and the process of discovering all the little details that ConcernedApe put into this game is a very lovely experience!
I played about 50 hours of this game (ended up dropping the game- not any fault of its own I just got interested in other games), and it is so chill. Just a "sit down and relax" type of game.
I'm so excited to see more stardew valley content❤ Btw you can also go foraging and pick some edible stuff early in game, they're also useful for future quests/sidequests🌸
Stardew Valley was not a game i was expecting to see from this channel, but im here for it❤ Edit: the voices your doing are now what my canon voices are for these characters, have you considered doing voice acting😮? Your very skilled!
I’m not kidding when I say I have stardew valley in multiple platforms, switch, phone, pc, I’m thinking of getting it on my ps5 too 😂 (But the pc is more comfortable) I’m just buying so many copies because Concern Ape has updated the games a dozen times for free! He added so much content he deserves to charge the game up to 30 dollars and yet he never asks for more.
OH HELL YEAH STARDEW Real talk, if anyone can make this an enjoyable watch it's you lmao. You get inspired by a million little things to go on a tangent, but in a positively good way
Maybe you didn't gain anything monetarily, but you got friendship points with Abigail by doing her request, so it was definitely worth doing, that's what the character will be pleased part of the side quest was.

Can't wait to see Calvin get consumed by this game.

@@Roamerplays I swear, this game has time altering powers. You play for a bit and 6 hours pass by without you noticing.
