Here a bit of random information I know!
Romans started the trend of staying on one side of the road and because most people are right handed they drive on the right!
However, In the Middle Ages you road your horse to the left because you never knew who you'd meet on the road in those days. You wanted to make sure that a stranger passed on the right so you could go for your sword (which was on the right) in case he proved unfriendly. Thus the we're on the left to ensure anyone coming the other was on their right
