Looks like a great machine for someone that’s just getting into tattooing. I love the idea of a cordless machine, I know you can get used to it but as a beginner I feel like I’m having to manage the power cord on my machine, not a huge deal but if it wasn’t there it’d be even better. Thanks for the review! 👍🏻
Thank you. We understand our flagship Torque is priced premium and hits hard so we wanted to come out with something that's geared to apprentices or those wanting to get a feel of a pen without breaking the bank and dealing with the strong torque - pun intended :)
@craignewman8741 maintain in which way? That's sorta vague because I clean mine every time I use it and put very very thin layers of Vaseline back on the threads and little balls for the click mechanism and literally the smallest little dab of Vaseline where the push rod comes through and use disposable grips so maintenance is a breeze for me .... plus I use pen bags and have been using my ambition for over 4 months now pretty regularly and it still works perfectly just as the day I got it
this is pretty cool I was looking into the cheyenne unlimited but the price difference is huge, I would say this is a pretty decent starting point for a new tattoo artist to not break the bank right away
Does anyone have a suggestion for other disposable grips that would work? In a situation where they are sold out and do not know when they will be restocked
critical said their swash drive live as long as their other motors, alot have happened in the last years, i cant remember but the hours they stress tested it was insanely high more than other machines so dont think about it... And no, they probably wont sell backup parts for somethings this cheap, wouldnt be worth it for them.
I used Flux, Cheyenne, Stigma spear and Xion and the Prime pen is really cool... it works with a stroke of 3.5. The battery lasts much longer than fk batteries. The machine hits quite hard and has a light give. plus a good price
How can I order those same two that you have ..??? I really love how it worked when you did your tattoo and I’m a newer tattoo artist trying to find a better tattoo pens
Hey thanks a lot, great review! I wanted to buy the Equaliser Neutron wireless PEN V2, is the PRIME x CRITICAL a better deal/quality-build/long-lasting machine in your opinion? Thanks by advance for your feedback! If anyone here use the Equaliser Neutron i'm curious if you have feedbacks.
Honest answer.. it seems like they sent a bunch of RUclips guys this machine to pump sales, but critical, prime and bishop motor sounds like a winner. Would you say this is an awesome machine? Personally I’m between this or just begging the FK Spectre or Exo or something. I was set on the fk, but I am now leaning towards the 4.2 and the 3.5 of these. Do you think this is a solid setup? Or would you recommend shelling out for the more expensive FK with power bolt? The is for doing these man. I appreciate all you guys do
I will always give my opinion on anything I review if they send it or not it doesn’t sway my views on the product that’s why I did a tattoo with it so you can clearly see what you can do with it. I actually really like this machine and wil use it in the future
After using both machines, do you think the 4.2 model will also be adequate to pack color and shading. Looking for an all around machine that also has disposable grips and decent price. Ive been looking for an adjustable stroke machine, but they either don't have disposable grips, or out of my price range at the moment.
If you change out a cartridge during a tattoo, you 100% have to worry about contaminants getting inside your machine. I’m not sure why tattoo artists don’t think this is a problem. Once you remove a cartridge and put it down on your workstation, you must assume the cartridge stem, and the upper part of the cartridge are contaminated. It concerns me when I here people making excuses like I don’t touch the upper part of the cartridge or I’m careful where I put it down. You simply can’t guarantee you have isolated that part from getting contaminated once it’s removed from the machine and placed anywhere on the workstation.
Thats why i dont use Machines that i cant disassemble and sterilize completely any more. Its Not enough, Just to Change or Clean the grip. The contermination goes deeper and its sad that so many artists doesn't Care.
since its basicly the same battery system are the batterys that come with the prime maschine compatible with the bishop power wands and vise versa? just wondering
Just bought the 4.2 full set based off your recommendation. I'm in Australia, can't find it anywhere here, but let's hope the shipping is reliable lol.🥲Thanks for your review! 🖤
Do you prefer cordless? I like that you don't have to worry about the cord but also I feel like the wireless ones might be jumpy and lack power but I'm just a baby 😅. Cheers
Was looking at getting the wand shader as my dedicated shading machine since I already have the packer, but would this be a worthy competitor to consider?
Can I and should start, I use to had started tattooing , even started on my thigh big ol poly style, I’m looking to start I’m knowledgeable read books practice all the bacterial as well disinfecting. Want to start with wifey and myself really have a passion for it
i love the disposable tips for starting artists who dont have the money for an autoclave, but i'm concerned for the economical impact. are there instructions how you could correctly recycle them? strikes super dangerous to me because of the blood and tissue fluids. as a tattoo artist i want to make as little waste as possible.
I can't find a pack of disposable grips for these anywhere. A pack of ten is featured in the website, but it's not actually available for purchase. Can you please give us more info about that?
I just bought the 4.2, it's a good middle ground for lining, packing and shading. Much like the Bishop wand packer which people like to use as a universal machine and that's 4.2 as well!
@@jujusirenn Thank you appreciate that I was torn between the two ended up impulse buying the 3.5 after reading forums for hours and switching between the two in my cart, lol.
@@drivenbyvalenciaHope it works well for you! Mine was just delivered and I can't wait to get it set up after work haha. It all feels really solid and great quality just from unboxing it.
4.5 is more suited for most your day to day needs. I use 4.5 stroke for shading as well, but you just don't get a real smooth gradient. The higher the stroke the better it is for lining and color packing. The lower, the softer it will hit for smooth shading.
Id love to see yous do a review on the new sunskin pen machine bundle.. about $1000, but comes with the 3ml and 4ml machine and 2 x battery .. Think Tom C Jarlier hadsome involvement, but is poss tgat just means he put his name to it 😂.. anyway, there are zero reviews on it
As much as everone talks shit about swash plate drives on chineese machines they seem to be all about this machine. There is No difference. This isnt the first large channel review ive seen promoting this pen. Why? Cause it has critical name on it? To me the critical system is a huge downside cause then your locked into their batteries eco system unless you have RCA adapter. Just my opinion. Still love the content man.
It's nice and all but you can only get your hands on it if you are a licensed artist no beging artist 👎 all sites that offer it is for professional only
So a Chinese machine designed here and sold for a crazy markup. This should go for 100. 130 tops becauae you throw in a over sized box and its designed by a american.😢
By bishop they mean namiki the best japanese motors they are arguably as good as maxon or faulhaber they are quite high torque motors which makes me think this is gonna last ....
Can you do a bishop packer vs the 4.2 stroke prime video
This would be great for those who can do either

My ambition soldier has disposable grips... and nice price range as well ... love it
Hell yeah bro! Ambition makes great machines!
Not really, I’ve had three different ambitions fuck up on me. They don’t take wear at all. And maintaining them is literally impossible
@craignewman8741 maintain in which way? Box needs to be much bigger
Ambitions are super easy to work on clean and maintain. Parts are dirt cheap to fix.
this is pretty cool I was looking into the cheyenne unlimited but the price difference is huge, I would say this is a pretty decent starting point for a new tattoo artist to not break the bank right away
As a beginner which would you recommend, the 3.5 or the 4.2? And why? What’s the difference?
4.2 the 3.5 is a really soft stroke hood for soft shading and black and grey work. 4.2 would be a good all arounder
Heck yeah I’m def saving for one of these
Does anyone have a suggestion for other disposable grips that would work? In a situation where they are sold out and do not know when they will be restocked
Hey! the motor is swash drive, I'm glad they have the 1 year warranty but are we feeling its reliable, do they sell backup parts for down the road?

How much does it cost, and when is the release date?
They have the prices listed on their company page ..
Prime Tattoo Supply under the “products” tab. 🙃
$400
400 for the pen and one battery, 600 for the set shown in the video.

comparing with the bishop wand liner, does it work well?

Excellent point, I’ve never thought about this, I regularly push my plunger bar cartridge to clean my needle. Thanks for the heads up.
Thank you! I appreciate you reading my comment and actually considering how to tattoo safer now.

since its basicly the same battery system are the batterys that come with the prime maschine compatible with the bishop power wands and vise versa? just wondering
apparently yes. saw in another video theyre the same as the bishop version battery.
You should try and review the big wasp z1 adjustable stokes.
Its up on the Prime site just not for sale yet. Its $400
Ordered mine yesterday. Gassed!
How does it hold up, now youve got it ?
So which one to start with as a beginner the 3 or 4?
Just bought the 4.2 full set based off your recommendation. I'm in Australia, can't find it anywhere here, but let's hope the shipping is reliable lol.🥲Thanks for your review! 🖤
Are they available now? I searched for them when I saw your video. Haven’t came across them yet. Unless it’s something still in production
They released today you should check again
Do you prefer cordless? I like that you don't have to worry about the cord but also I feel like the wireless ones might be jumpy and lack power but I'm just a baby 😅. Cheers
Yeah cordless is a game changer
Idk what to get😭😭 this machine or the Inkjecta????!!!
Please review the Peak Forge Battery Grip. Its similar to the Inkclaw Pheonix grip
If you remove the return spring on the push bar, you gona get a more solid hit and increase your battery life.
Torque is crazy expensive and still no disposable grips
nice
Was looking at getting the wand shader as my dedicated shading machine since I already have the packer, but would this be a worthy competitor to consider?
For sure.
@criticaltattoo any chance a bundle with both machines coming out soon? 😢
Can you compare to bish wand liner?

Use an autoclave so you don’t need disposable
Or ultra sonic cleaner. They quite cheap. I got mine profesional grade used for 200$. Just take a bit longer to sterilise
I’m torn between the 3.5 or 4.2…
I can't find a pack of disposable grips for these anywhere. A pack of ten is featured in the website, but it's not actually available for purchase. Can you please give us more info about that?
Never mind, I found out they are releasing in late March 😊.
For someone just beginning which of the two versions would you recommend to get started that would be a more flexible machine?

Does it pair easily with the critical foot pedal?
no, its not a "connect" battery.
Hows the pen prime? you been actually using it this month, 1 month review?
Mine is so loud for whatever reason
As a beginner should I get the 3.5 or 4.5 stroke
4.5 is more suited for most your day to day needs. I use 4.5 stroke for shading as well, but you just don't get a real smooth gradient. The higher the stroke the better it is for lining and color packing. The lower, the softer it will hit for smooth shading.
Can I use my critical torque battery on it?
Yes
Thanks for the video...Thumb UP
I imagine this was made to rival the ONE. What are we guessing the price is? I'm guessing about $500 +/- intro price. Then up to $600-650
It's not for sale yet but you can check it out - there is a link in the description!

Ali baba homie
This machine runs with bishop motor, made in Japan. I think it is reliable machine.
By bishop they mean namiki the best japanese motors they are arguably as good as maxon or faulhaber they are quite high torque motors which makes me think this is gonna last ....
