Look how big Benson is getting. So cute! I love shortbread cookies, especially since they're not overly sweet. If you guys are inclined, pair shortbread cookies with hot chocolate. Shortbread cookies and hot chocolate are a great combo for Christmas movie watching. The box of chocolate pretzels is so great for gift giving since each flavor comes in its own bag.
Tim - tiramisu is always coffee flavored. you dip lady fingers or wafer in expresso and layer with whipped mascarpone cheese and topped with cocoa powder. that's the traditional method anyway.
My grandmother from Denmark made the best Danish butter cookies for Christmas and gave them to people. I try to replicate them but hers were better. Butter cookies or shortbread are a favorite and all cookies go great with coffee. Try the orange chocolate to see if they were mixed up. Thanks for the haul. Happy holidays.

You dip the “lady fingers” into espresso first before layering, then covering with a cream made from (yes authentic) raw eggs and mascarpone. Yes coffee is used to moisten/soak the ladyfingers (not cake) traditionally used in tiramisu. It’s soft bec of mascarpone (cheese) used for the “cream” layer. And shortbread cookies are traditionally Scottish. Those blue tins of cookies are also a favorite w nurses during holiday season not just elderly. Mochi is supposed to be sticky/chewy and the frozen texture for the ice cream is not quite right but prob makes it more palatable to Americans

A co-worker and her husband did a couples cooking class at Sur La Table which she really liked. It's kind of a unique gift idea for anyone that's a foodie. They have kids classes too.

Trader Joe’s has a box of Walker’s shortbread pure butter assorted cookies. Those are nice they aren’t overly sweet. I am fine with minimal sugar though in a shortbread cookie.

I actually don't drink coffee but my grown daughter does and she loves Tiramisu! I love anything with pretzels in it, so I will be getting the pretzel bread pudding and the pound plus chocolate bar with pretzels and caramel if my TJ's has them tomorrow! Hardest to buy for I would say the office grab bag. I never know what to get as you don't always know the person well and they don't always leave you an idea.

I went to TJ today (Saturday, 11/25/2023) and the Manager told me that the Trader Joe's 2023 Vintage Spiced Ale was recalled late Friday night and they had to pull all the bottles off the shelfs until the "Investigation" has been completed. FYI
What?!? Oh my goodness. I can’t believe I got it then. It should be recalled because that was dangerous! The cork flew off just as soon as Tim loosened the metal cage covering the cork. Scary!

Butter cookies are typically dunked in tea or coffee. Dunking it brings out the flavor of the butter and adds moisture, similar to a biscotti. I actually made a trifle and used the cookie (crumbled up) on top of the whip cream. Tim, that was awesome and I snorted laughing 😂

Whoa, the cork mishap was intense, I had to rewind it twice to make sure no people or animals were whacked. The desserts look delectable!
