A couple of observations. First, Insooni (the artist whose songs were covered) is an absolute LEGEND. Half Black, she was born in the 1950s, when 90% of Koreans hadn't even seen a foreigner, let alone a Black person. Despite all the prejudice and racism she faced, she became a star when she debuted the same year I was born, in 1978, and she has released 20 albums in her 41 year career. Next, the dance team. Aura are among the most in-demand AND most demanding dancers in the industry, especially their leader, Jang Juhee, who is more famous than some idols - she's THAT girl from JYP's "Who's Your Mama" video. When it comes to female soloists, Aura have performed and toured with, oh, Sunmi, Tiffany, and Taeyeon - you know, the absolute greatest. The fact that they will go on a show with Solji means that they respect her, having worked with only the best. And finally, Solji. I was lucky enough to meet her, having been a fan since EXID's early days, and she's even more amazing in person than she is on stage or on screen. She is one of the greatest voices in an industry full of amazing singers - Choa, Hyolyn, Taeyeon, Solar, Wendy, Yuju, Ailee - in that awesome company, Solji is easily among the most gifted and technically proficient soloists.
The leader also helped choreograph EXID latest Japanese comeback Bad Girl For You. It is beautiful and one of their best choreographies in my opinion. I hope she and her group work with Solji on her Solo. Yama and Hotchicks or them would be great.
