Hi chris. i am your regular follower from italy. very good job and thanks you for all your videos! i wanted to ask you something about steering shaft. you said that its important to check plays of the joint. what about turning the shaft? i have something like 45° of turning angle and a little oil loose from top of steering box (once need to ad oil in 2 years). is it a big problem or is normal to have that kind of movement? best wishis! PS: sorry; mine is a 300 tdi discovery of 1998. i will try to make a video turning a steering shaft........

top of the morning to you, just two questions, what is the moisture instrument that you use to check brake/ clutch for moisture and hygroscopic? I have just purchased a 2.5 d 110 with a mileage of 33974 ex-military radio car is the mileage correct or has it been turned back ? 92' model came out of service 2014?
    regards grampy

The tool is a brake fluid tester. you can get them for a tenner in most motor factors. As for the mileage on the defender. It could be genuine. Some stuff may have been in storage, very rarely used. Does the condition of the vehicle show that it hasn't seen much use? I doubt it would have gone around the clock being a military vehicle? More likely it has had another odometer fitted sometime in its life.

yes engine still has the green paint from service, just chipping away. only alternator been changed will be changing starter motor, slight rust in drivers foot well otherwise in good nick for its age will have to give it a gradual overhaul! If it is not broken I will not fix it LOL
any ideas where I can get the nato matt green paint to give it a roller job at a later stage.
will be using your videos to service the 110.
      regards Graham
