First guitar I ever worked on was an old Pacifica for a friend when I was like 12... Grew up a woodworker and now I’m a luthier In my professional opinion, any guitar can play, feel, and sound amazing with some proper work and a decent setup 👌🏼
One problem typical with lower end guitars is sharp fret ends. I found that taking the abrasive side of a dish washing sponge and just running it up and down the fret ends at a 45 degree angle REALLY smooths them over and makes the instrument play like butter
@@johnnathancordy yes that's what i use! It's yellow on one side and dark green on the other. The dark green side is the perfect level of abrasiveness to smooth the fret ends without destroying that rosewood
I actually really dig the color combination on that guitar. One time I got a cheap Ibanez and just searched what were the cheapest name brand pickups I could find locally used. Wound up with a set of dimarzios that are still some of my favorites.
johnnathancordy they don’t come up that often, I got mine last year after years of trying to find the right one. They stopped making them. The o my one they do now is the mike stern signature model

Wow, what a steal!. Even at full price those are great instruments for the price. Personal preference, but the only thing that turned me off about them is that the nut width is too narrow for my liking.
I like this guitar a lot. But 41 mm width at the nut is targeted for the Asian market. No way I could play this thing properly, and I don't mean girl scout voicings ...
Hi john. What could you tell me about the neck of this guitar? Is it comfortable? The tension of the strings, do you feel too stiff? Is the string action comfortable? Is it soft to touch?
I was looking at PAC012s when I saw that the upgrade to an Alder body in the PAC112J is only $20. Yamaha is charging $90 for the 112V’s alnico pickups, for that I think I’ll get the J and upgrade the pickups myself.
Hi john. It's a humble request for you. Please make a video on *HARLEY BENTON TE70 BLACK PAISLEY* Tele. It's very versatile budget guitar. I just want that tele to be played by you. The tone u tweak.....
sounds great, this is m y guitiar I think, I want to try learn what ur playing sounds good, might try by ear, unless theres tabs already. I play mostly metal tho, n some fingerstyle, but I think my guitar isnt suposed to be for metal, maybe duno

Dang, I could just watch/listen to this on a loop for hours.
Same here! So beautiful... I am already replaying this video four times..
You play with such good taste, great feel, and fast at the right times. Keep up the good work.
I got that exact model Pacifica in 1992. It is an absolutely incredible guitar.
Excellent. It's not easy find a versatile guitar player, to see different from metal.

Yeh isn't that stuff also called "scotchbrite"?

Wow this totally sold the guitar for me 👏 beautiful playing!
Hey I’m planning on getting this soon how are you doing with the guitar!!
@@hellopeter9083 got it yet ? It’s the best in the price range imo. I got the natural Satin one, gorgeous.
Sounds great, and for 20 bucks!? Wow... That's a steal bro, congrats!! 🎸🎸👍
The 612 versions have various flame maple tops with Seymour sets.. and still priced really decent
£20!!?? That's mad. I love Pacificas. I started on an old 90s one and now have a modded '98 402S tele. Great instruments.
The teles I've seen fat fewer of! Gonna keep an eye out

Feels nice to me!
Great playing! I have that same guitar, same color. I play it through a Mesa Boogie Mark V 25 combo.
How do you compare this to Aria 714 mk2? Which do you recon js better?
Where do I find more of this music? Or at least very similar to this?
What gauge string were you using in this? And what brand? Just curious ☺️
Umm this was when I was using Pitbull strings 10-46
Yes the string gauge and string brand will make you play like this!

Did you upgrade the easthetics? I see a yellowish headstock and less white plastics :D THAT'S the guitar I want but can afford when it's a fender
going to buy pacifica 112j
Is it thick ot thin neck ? Because I hate the feeling of thick neck in my palm.
bealtiful song.. original pickups?
20pounds? Lucky bastard
Do you feel the Sire is better than the 612 Pacifica??

I'll see what I can do!
Pickups?
Yamaha Pacifica 112j or Ibanez GRX40?
Definitely the GRX40, has better pickups, bridge, tuners and way more tonal options.
Estoy entre la Yamaha pasifica 112j - cort cr200/250 , cual es mejor ? En cuanto comodidad y sonido
I have a Pac012 with same pickup but diffenent body wood and tuners as good as yours. Cheers!
Fcuking tone! What's your distortion ?
What should i buy pacifica 112j or 112vm?
Get the 112vm cause its basically an upgrade of the 112j. Has a better bridge, better tuners and better pickups plus you can coil split the humbucker
Excelente guitarra y sonido. Saludos
Sounds really nice. What is the setup/pedals?
He usually uses HX Stomp (Helix). Most likely it is that.
