I listened to douzends of versions of this piece. This is the best I've heard so far. Most other performers try to convert it into a romantic elegy, overdemonstrate their technical skills or just press the pedal. I really liked this one.
Excellent interpretation of a beloved French classic. It always makes me think of the all too commonplace passing of time somehow made beautiful by music.
So glad to hear this piece. I have always been mystified about the title and what might be revealed . and I had never heard it, just had it pass through my life selling music. Now I know and it's lovely. So happy to see and hear you again. Merry Christmas!!
Marvelous performance. I have listened to many RUclips performances of this piece. Your rendition felt fresh and new and I heard things, emotive things, revealed to me for the first time. I am grateful.
W O N D E R FUL !!!...Congratulations!!! You played it very well and in your way of playing this Couperin''s beautiful piece there's all i'd like to feel, listening to this sweet, deep, amazing piece! Thank you so much ! Best regards from Naples. Antonio Romano.
I really appreciate your interpretation of this beautiful piece Mrs Neumann. Would it be possible for you to post the fingerings (?) ("doigtés" in french) that you use? I wish you well.
Lovely. I just listened to this so many times that if my neighbors can hear it, they must be ready to throw a net over me and haul me away. One of my favorite pieces of music and within my skill level (maybe), but all of the ties confuse me. Maybe I could just use White-Out?
Ah, what a delightful thing to read this morning! Thank you! You make a fair point about the ties (hahaha) - they're quite annoying to read, but once you get used to them, it's not a problem (though do be careful of tension in the hands as you hold various notes while changing others - something I'm attentive to every time I play it). Hands separately is definitely your friend on this one, to make sure you're holding on to the right note, as is realising that the opening bar starts on the "and" of 1 - there are 3 1/2 beats before we get a downbeat, which is quite unusual!
Thanks. I have a condition that I think in today’s PC world we would call rhythmically* challenged, so the beat thing screwed me up so much that I fell off my bench. I may need stitches, but I will learn this or die trying. Probably of old age as I’m a slow learner. *OMG, I think that was the first time I’ve ever spelled the word “rhythm” correctly in any of its forms, but then I blew my winning streak by incorrectly guessing as I misspelled it in this footnote. The good news is that I can spell better in Spanish than English because my adopted language makes sense.

When it feels like the music is asking me all kinds of questions that’s when I feel it’s well performed. You leave me wonderfully puzzled. Thanx.
The best! I have listened to other performers... This has wonderful rythme and melody. Thank you!
I'm incclined to agree. She sounds as if she's not trying to do anything, just letting the piece be itself.
@@macklindsey4541I agree . Playing the man’s music as they say. A state of grace.
This is one of my favourites harpsichord pieces
jolie interprétation, très équilibrée et calme

Thank you! I'm delighted you are listening from Naples!
👏👏 ( you got all gussied up for this one ;-)
It's way too hot for my usual at-home video attire! Plus Couperin is too refined for winter jumpers. :)
